As for the classical artwork prints, it is my sincere (if perhaps naive) belief that NO ONE buys them to "trick" anyone into thinking they're the real thing. It can also be tongue in cheek. I like a space to put something like a complete, mounted Starry Night jigsaw puzzle. Real world, unpretentious, and every room needs some humor. If your grandma had stuffy decor and wouldn't let you touch the piano, and made you use the bathroom at the back of the house meant for the gardener, then maybe you like to be a little more relaxed, is all I'm sayin'.
@cq8822Ай бұрын
@@mezanian I like original sense, but what you’re saying is pretentious and untrue. Those original pieces are beautiful and of course no one can buy them because they hang in museums if they were for sale they would be millions of dollars. If that’s all you have, it might not be good, but to hang a beautiful print that you love to see every day is not lazy, nor is it trashy. Lesson for the littles: "Corduroy is a woven fabric made from many threads, with a distinct pattern of vertical rows of soft pile called a 'cord' or 'wale'." Yes, back in the '70's we loved corduroy (never called it 'cord', though) and our great innovation was what was called "wide-wale corduroy", which is what IKEA is working with here. Corduroy can have wales that are 1/8th of the width of wide-wale corduroy, so the new-to-us wide-wale corduroy fell into this lovely space between plush velvet and traditional corduroy. Yummy!

As a 50-year collector of MCM, before it was called MCM, authentic period Rya "shag" pillows (as well as other handmade needlepoint, bargello, applique, etc pillows) were typically one-sided. The front was usually the decorative side and the back was a coordinating solid. Too much handwork went into them to be finished on both sides. I never comment on things but I have STRONG FEELS about this, so: I love how fast you talk! I’m Australian, and you talk at what I think of as normal speed. The speed most American KZbinrs talk at drives me nuts; I feel like they’re talking to me like I’m a four-year-old. NEVER SLOW DOWN. 💖

Went looking at the Jattebo sofa yesterday and in addition to its functionality and material choice it's also super comfortable! The only negative however is it's price... I want to buy the 3- seater which costs around € 1200 here in Belgium and for that price you have a lot of other options that aren't Ikea. So I am still deciding whether this is the "best" option to go for. Good video Nick love to see more! :)

Ok Nick…I have been watching you forever and I agree with 90% of what you say in regards to design. However, I had to laugh out loud when you said you liked the Rorkult light because it looks just like a “boob light” on its side. 😂

One of my favorite KZbinrs!!

I look forward to my weekend coffee with you, Nick! You speak at a perfect pace and always make me chuckle. Sidebar, I personally think the Rorkult looks a little like the boob light but for a wall. 😂

I have the Jättebo and is not for people who like firm couches. It is a cosy marshmallow that you won't necessarily sink into, but you will nestle. The vibes this couch brings to a space are unimpeachable and the storage is very good, especially for linens. The green is especially lovely in the corduroy!

On the other hand the Mona Lisa could be fixed into pretty cool home decor with a marker and adding extra glasses, moustache or something :D . And if you are more crafty than that you can make it into your own Banksy piece with some collage and paints.

We just bought a Jattebo and got it yesterday - the selling points For me - the storage , the washable covers and no springs ! It is very comfortable
@kaasmeester5903Ай бұрын
@@umassigkap No springs! Was that an MST3K reference?
@umassigkapАй бұрын
I have no idea what that is , there are springs in the couch because of the storage - so it won’t get saggy
@kaasmeester5903Ай бұрын
@@umassigkap Kind of hard to explain. MST3K are a couple of guys taking the p*ss out of old movies and educational films… one of which was about springs, featuring an insane animated character called Coily. His catchphrase was “no springs!” Kind of an unusual phrase especially with the exclamation point.

HA! The pillow, the slow listening, the Mona Lisa…I love you! Since I grew up in the 70s , I will never buy anything like it, I still want to hear all your opinions. You go Nick! And I like your new look
