I've been driving honda amaze diesel in manuel in hilly areas and I'm so impressed with its performance, it has great great pickup. The engine is like a beast under the hood the moment you push the gas pedal feels like you're flying on the road. We have really bad road conditions here in hills, but when I drive the Honda Amaze I don't feel any bumps as it's suspension is the best in class. Overall built quality is really good. I'm looking forward to drive the new Amaze

Very elaborative and Detailed presentation. Good work by powerdrift team The fact that they have designed it differently from all the other outgoing subcompact sedans will invite some premium cost. Introduction CVT with Diesel in this segment will tick the boxes off for most of customers. All in all it's a Premium subcompact sedan for people who love Honda badging and reliability.

Go for e mt variant. It has abs ebd and power window. One can install touchscreen stereo, JBL speaker, camera and central locking in just rs 25k. In this way u get upgraded variant in 6.5 lakh which is good deal

Hi Glenn. One simple technical question. Have honda resolved the clutch damage issue as well as the hydrostatic engine lock issue in this upgrade. Coz these are the two burning issues with the old amaze

There are a number of factors that could result in the clutch damage, and hydrostatic engine lock occurs when water enters the engine. These are things that cannot be known on the first drive, and would rather require a long-term test.

Have they raised the air suction duct little higher so that it cannot suck accumulated water from the road in rainy seasons. What their engineers are saying !! Would be happy if u can help me in this matter. Coz i want to buy this car. But not with these problems. The previous amaze was highly criticized due to these two problems.

@PowerDrift what all is missing in the cvt? You mentioned the infotainment system I know it lacks cruise control also. Is there anything else? A bit of a deal breaker for me. If the cvt transmission is the automatic in the city, cruise control would have been the equivalent on the highway (as we don't shift many gears on the highway anyway and its the throttle that needs to be floored)

If the Diesel V CVT Amaze is below ₹10 lakh on road, I think they might have a winner on their hands. Good to know the diesel automatic though reduced in power has smooth acceleration. Did you notice any turbo lag or did the CVT mask it nicely? Hope they bring this new Diesel CVT option in W-RV and City soon. Cheers!

The diesel CVT does perform well. The advantage of CVT is that it compensates for the lag very well, it's barely noticeable.

My requirement Bombay city driving/home-offc-home/ 40 kms max daily/ budget no constraint/ upgrading from a wagon r/ test drove Amaze Petrol MT and CVT. Loved the cvt as it’s so bloody comfy. It might be the other way around. To put it simply, CVTs mate better with high revving engines which the diesels aren't. CVTs are much more efficient at multiplying torque hence Honda have found this to be the right balance between drivability and economy.

Honda amaze first generation did well when it was launched,later it has issues like refinement and that stubby boot.But this one has the perfect sedan proportions and looks premium from outside and even inside.Honda cars are known for spacious cabins,the addition of rear Ac vents would have been a biggest boon! Now the dzire will face a tough competition!!The diesel manual will be the choice!

Glen, am in need of an automatic car. I currently own Alto 800 and need to upgrade. I usually drive on week ends and prefer petrol cars. Need a spacious and roomy cabin. Have few queries. 1. Difference between CVT and AMT and which one should I choose. 2. How is the Jazz CVT with pedal shifts 3. Should I wait for Amaze CVT, will this be expensive than Jazz 4. Should I also look at Baleno CVT 5. How is Swift AMT, should I take it into consideration Am absolutely confused. Need your urgent help.

Hey Rishikesh, first of all, lock in on the type of the car you need - a compact sedan or a hatchback. That should help in easing the shortlisting process. 1. CVT is much better than AMT, but that said AMT would be more economical. 2. Between Amaze and Jazz, it would have to depend on your preference of car type. 3. Between Baleno and Jazz, the former gets more features. 4. While we haven't yet had a chance to review the Swift AMT, you can go ahead with it considering it's a lakh and a half cheaper than the Jazz and the Baleno.

to me the car seems decent, reliable like any other Honda with a little bit of changes here and there. agreed its a complete new car in terms of looks and not just an extended version of Brio but there is no exciting element in the car. Yaris on the other hand looks really promising.. its time Honda needs to work on its India line up and stop being dependent on City alone.

Sumiit Bhatia well definitely not since its low on power. But I would say that its for a different customer altogether. It drives differently and has satisfactory performance. If you want a "fun to drive" amaze the diesel mt is a better choice.

If price competitively, am pretty sure masses would love to have it as their best companion (barring their Girlfriend/ spouses ;) ) I currently own the outgoing model in Petrol and have not been very happy when it comes to the comfort level and air conditioning. The design of the alloy wheels ruin the side view. It almost resembles a jdm/pony car kinda design with the tight proportions and stubby front and boot but the alloys are just too ‘flowery’ for it. Something similar to the first gen SX4 would’ve made the side profile much more racy and butch. Maybe Honda should do a R version like their civic models abroad with stiffer suspension, wider tires and the works. I would buy that🤞🏻🤞🏻

Neither of the CVT variants get cruise control. CVT is only available in V trim while cruise control on the top-end, VX trim. It's a common practice in the industry to keeps the prices low.

PowerDrift The Rapid will cost us almost the same as this one. And the only reason i was considering this car was because it is more 2018 ( by features and interiors ) if that makes sense. That said, I think the better build, bigger boot and engine do make more sense ! Thanks for your advice !

Aayushman Bhatia : Rapid is a relatively old car and cannot expect performance or economy from that German petrol. Amaze petrol will be an investment in long term compared to German petrol. The real reason to buy Skoda Rapid is the brilliant diesel engine, amazing handling and build quality.

Abhishek Bhattacharya ameo . I know people recomend amaze because indian people don't deserve a good car. and Volkswagen is no1 brand in world. but indian people only want mileage and service . hum car kharidne ke liye jate hai to car hi kharido . I hope aapko samajh aa gya hoga

If you are looking for a petrol automatic, you have the Amaze, but for a diesel automatic, it would be a tough fight as the Ameo gets the DSG gearbox which is quite refined and crisp. In terms of power, the Amaze petrol is better than the Ameo, but the tables turn when it comes to diesel. All said and done, it comes to pricing, and we would have to wait until May 16 for Amaze's pricing. We would suggest that you take test drives of both the cars before you make a decision.

The Ciaz is a bigger car but the Amaze would have more features. It depends on whether you want a car with more bells and whistles, or with more space.

Archit Goyal Both r different segment cars.. Ciaz is premium and bigger den amaze.. Still don't go for base version.. If budget can be increased den go for 2nd model of ciaz..

Honda Amaze Pride edition ( petrol) launched earlier this year is better in looks n features..touch screen infotainment.front arm rest..window garnish...all features..n off course shape is much better than new bigger amaze

Thats disappointing! Still dont understand why honda do this and even if they want to set a limit atleast set it at 160 kmph... But in the end we would still want more i guess :p
