Spending $1K for a can is a vanity exercise on this bike. Stock, it was engineered brilliantly, one of the many carefully thought-out features and packaging that appear to have made the sum much greater than the parts. A very successful, very Honda product. I hope to have this as a second bike in my tight garage. Really, this is "good for beginners"? Honestly - no posing needed - this comfortable, fun, quick bike is not a starter bike. 50bhp can get anyone in trouble. The Hornet looks to be a great choice for even the most experienced rider who could use all their riding talents (real or imagined) to squeeze even more out of it.

Stepping back into riding after a couple of decades, but this Hornet, which is the bike I really want is NOT available in the US yet! So... will get a CB500F ASAP, ride it for a couple of seasons, then (?!) get this when it arrives Stateside. They are very comparable in many ways, and I hope and believe the transition will be made easier by the close kinship between the two. I will be getting the Hornet with the aim of it being my last bike, to be enjoyed as long as I can go on riding; it has more than enough power and the Honda quality and the fun-factor are main selling points of both bikes for me. So, here's hoping Honda bring this to the US..

Listening over my computer, I thought the stock exhaust on the Hornet sounded crisper and better overall when you revved them both. I was quite impressed by the sound in all the many videos I've watched on the Hornet. It is a really well rounded bike with so much more to offer than Yamaha and almost up to the Aprillia 660, at a far more attractive price point. And you know the Honda has everyone covered when it comes to quality and durability. I had a Ducati S2R 1000 Monster and this bike is far lighter, has modern electronics and rider aids, and it has more power than my Duc had.... so I am determined to get one of these. They won't be on sale here in North America for another year as Honda is releasing it in Europe only this year. We will get the Transalp soon, but I prefer the handling from the 17" wheels and grippy tires. I love riding quick through corners, and doing wheelies out of them. Let's not forget that it gets nearly 60 MPG as well. My Duc was more like 30MPG...

Really looks nice. I'm impressed with the twin,vs the inline 4. I really haven't been looking at the new Hondas,so don't know how long they've been doing twins, but I like it. The look is nice, coming from a 1975 CB 750 four, owner. Totally new look. And not terrible a price,for what you get. I'll never have one. Because at 70, the 2005 triumph T100 I have will probably be my last bike. But, If I were 20 years younger I d be tempted for sure. But at 225, I'd probably be looking at little bigger. By far, BEST objectiv review on the Hornet 750. I think its a great bike. The only things why i wont buy it now are : ugly WELDS on the frame, and particulary on the passenger footrests, then i dont like the actual colors... Grey would be the least worse, but its very sad and mat makes it even more plasticy and fragile. Finally i think the fork is too soft, and it ll be even softer in summer with higher temperatures.. So i ll wait for a v2 improved Hornet 750... or maybe a cb750 classic or scrambler variant ?

Nice vid. It's undoubtedly a great value super functional bike but it looks so bland & dull. I just couldn't part with money for it on the basis that looking at it evokes pretty much nothing other than a shrug. If I was going to buy a middleweight Honda, it would definitely be the CB650R which looks great imo. Makes you wonder if the same team designed both bikes. Will also be very interested to see a direct comparison with the GSX8S which despite the superficial similarities seems to have had a different design brief. I think the Hornet will feel more sportier & agile etc while the GSX8S is going to be more stable & grown up, which may mean boring tbh. Guess we'll see.

Hey Motobob! At 05:12 the Honda CB500F has also twin discs at the front, radially mounted (starting with the 2022 model), and also USD (big piston) forks, as shown at 05:15... so yeah, it would be actually be pretty fair to compare the 2 bikes... Oh, and I for example, HATE the 160 wheel at the back, it's just to save costs, not about agility, that's BS. You can have enough agility with a 180 rear tire. The Hornet looks like the bigger sister of the CB500F, great motor, but still a shame... ✌🏼
@paulconnell1309 Жыл бұрын
Yeh does not feel like a big bike when you are on it. the bike is quick though, particularly when you get to 6,000 rpm. The throttle really is a bit snatchy around town. User mode with engine braking low and power two helps.

Nice feature review. I would like to hear the down sides as well. I am yet to ride one but understand that the Hornet is not as stable through corners as some. Secondly there is no hugger (half back mudguard) on the back wheel so road splash goes everywhere, including all over the exhaust. Not good enough for what I consider to be a big enough bike to own forever. Certainly can not justify more cost and emissions. The local dealer says they can source a hugger, but I am not sure if it is OEM or after market. One cut too many to meet a price point in my view. On that they are not so cheap where I live. More than the CB650 range. And the 650s do have huggers. and are well finished Just a bit lame in my view. What else have they taken a short cut on?
@wetland3010 Жыл бұрын
There are 2 main downsides I've seen. Bike gets filthy fast, especially in the rain. Bugger all mudguards front and back. In the wet, crap gets right up your back, and bikes inards, where it is hard to clean, get a lot of grime. Also, its difficult checking and adjusting tyre pressures. Honda should have put a right-angle nozzle, but this is an example of cut down to a price. It's an exciting and enticing bike, but though I'm in the market, I just can't seem to 'pull the pin' on the Hornet.

Anyone know of a video of one of these with a excellent aftermarket exhaust sound track? This is the only thing stopping me from running out and buying one. I know its on my computer, but compared to a MT07 with an Acropovich exhaust the Hornets stock sound reminds me far too much of a 250cc bike.... Id love to hear one with a comparable aftermarket exhaust fitted... that would probably seal the deal for me... I also agree the grey is a very nice model! Great review.
