This is my first-ever video so give me whatever constructive criticism you may have so I can improve. Also, sorry for any scuffed audio at times. I'll do my best to get that fixed. Anyway, I loved these characters and will probably try out the game in the near future. My favorite trailers were: Zhongli's and Xianyun's Leave comments on who your favorites are

Some characters aren't young, just small (eg. Albedo, Tighnari, Xiao, Ganyu, Keqing, Wanderer); ...but YaoYao really is a child, just a really sensible, reasonable and careful. Great - if typical - Nahida reaction; but you can get her as soon as her banner returns, you don't need to reach or finish her region.

14:22 - "It sounds Russian". Good, because it is. Snezhnaya means "Snowy" in Russian, and the region will be based on Russia/Slavic countries. At the time of this comment, Childe (pronounced just like 'child') is the only playable character from that region. (it's not unlocked yet) 15:18 - I'm positive that Xinyan and Serval would be besties if they ever met. 17:24 - Zhongli is one of the best units in the game. He's the best shielder, or you can build him as a DPS and do massive damage. Very much a Must Pull. We love out CEO of GEO. Just a note, every nation in Genshin is based on a real country/region IRL. Zhongli is from Liyue, which is based on China.

Yep Wanderer can fly in game! The full backstory behind his name is indeed a spoiler, he's a character that was originally introduced in a time-limited event back in version 1.1 If you play Genshin now, however, you'll be meeting him much later in game (namely in Inazuma rather than Mondstadt/Liyue) One thing you might notice is his demo trailer is a bit similar to Raiden Shogun's trailer :)

Yea don't worry about Wriothesleys name, he is uuh, special. It's pronounced close to Rise-ly. His name actually has a funny story behind it. To keep it spoiler free, some stuff happened and he wanted to start over in life. He wanted a new name as well. so he picked Wriothesley simply because it is so weird and difficult to pronounce. He loves watching people freaking out on how to pronounce it. And if you want Furina, we are now at the end of version 4.4, Furina is rumored to have a rerun in 4.6. So start saving those primos! Banners work the same as in Honkai Star Rail

Genshin does more "in game" trailers , Hsr as turn base game show more made animation. Furina rerun most likely will be one after the next patch (90%). But for saving a bit you can start right at the start of the next patch ≈ 11 days. Also you 150% would like a character (Knave or Arlecchino for searching some art) that's coming with Furina in 4.6 patch

Yeah, I noticed that the trailers for Genshin show more gameplay than the Star Rail ones. I'm a huge fan of the animations and music from the Star Rail one's but the Genshin one's are also great in that they show off each character's gameplay quite a bit. I really hope I'm able to start playing the game by that point to get Furina 🤞🤞🤞

Yep. Imo, Genshin has better trailers. The music fits so well with its own trailers. As for HSR, there are only a few that's good.

4:05 She is not the typical western zombi but a jiāngshī, also known as a Chinese hopping vampire, a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. The characters for "jiāngshī" are read goeng-si in Cantonese. The use of a talisman on its forhead is to make the corpses move by themselves for easier transportation. Talismans are written in vermillion which represents pure Yang energy.

The sword is stored within her soul, but uses the heart of her body as an access point. Her cleavage is simply in the way. Fun detail: in the process of creating the technique she uses to store this sword, the Raiden Shogun invented that "sheathe your sword into the air via your other hand" technique that the other Inazuman playable sword-wielders can be seen using: if you pay close enough attention you can actually see that the Shogun's crest briefly appears when they use it to mark that. [Appended] Gorou is a dog demonstrating his greatest virtue is loyalty. Thus, his stomach is exposed. [Appended later]: 'Candace' is a derivative of the title 'Kandake', used in some African tribes to denote a matriarch. It seems that due to interchange between Egypt and further south, the name passed through Egypt into Greece, where as the name 'Candace' it returned into Egypt. I would say we're using the spellings to denote origin points, but all of this is a little vague, and it gets into periodically controversial territory.

Fun facts: -Kazuha has 6 different sheathing animations. -Dancing is Eula's hobby/specialty, not her job. -Xiao is the only Yaksha left in the entirety of Teyvat. -Zhongli was not great when he first came out, he's godly good now after HoYo reworked him. -Childe/Tartaglia/Ajax has a big family: 2 older bros, 1 older sis, 1 younger sis, 2 younger bros (Childe is the middle child fr lmao). -Rosaria's booba got nerf and she also got a more "conservative" outfit (optional for all but Chinese players). -We haven't meet Klee's mother yet but we have "communicate" with her, she's a very important & powerful figure of Teyvat. -Mona's master is friend with Klee's mother and Albedo's mother. -Hu Tao's ghost is Boo Tao -Wanderer has more than 3 names/titles. (See cmt) -Freminet doesn't wear short, it's his 1-piece diver suit covered by his coat. His hat is also a "collapsed" version of his diving helmet.

Genshin has a lot of neat details aswell. For example, people who are related in some way like siblings and teacher/ student who use the same weapons would have similarities in attack moves because they've learned the similar fighting style.

My favourite trailers are by far Alhaithams and Navias, Alhaitham's was just something different and had the sumeru squad in who are some of my favourite characters. My favourite character's Neuvillette cos, look at him, and I'm hoping to get his weapon next patch. Also if you hadn't noticed (there are others), but characters like Lyney, Cyno and Gaming, share the same voice actors as Blade, Jingyuan and Caelus. I actually can't believe how Daman Mills has that much range.

Albedo's trailer references the first ever limited time event in Genshin, from 1.0. It had a rather rudimentary story: Timaeus (Albedo's student) built an alchemical crucible and asked the player to help test it. The gameplay was coop only and consisted of grabbing elemental thingies that spawned in the arena and carrying them to the crucible while fighting off enemies. Kreideprinz means "chalk prince" in German.

Childe is just pronounced child. It's an archaic title meaning "young nobleman." Tartaglia is also not his name. His real name is Ajax. Snezhnaya is indeed Russia, possibly with some more Slavic countries mixed in too. And there's potentially some Italian influence too, since their military is led by characters based on the Italian theatre tradition of Commedia dell'Arte. Each region in Genshin is based on different real-world locations. Other than Snezhnaya: Mondstadt is based on Germany, potentially with other European influences. It also has British influences, primarily in the form of referencing Arthurian legend. Liyue is based on China. I forget which specific time period. Inazuma is based on Edo period Japan. Sumeru is based on the Persian Empire. So it's primarily middle eastern, but also has influences from India, Egypt and Turkey. Fontaine is primarily based on industrial revolution France, but also has British and Italian influences. This is the most recent region in the game. The next region, Natlan, seems like it's going to be based on colonial Mesoamerica, combined with central and west Africa. I was hoping it would be precolonial, but the information we have now indicates that's not the case. Then there's Snezhnaya, which we've already covered. And finally there's Khaenri'ah, which appears to be based on a combination of Scandinavia and Germanic countries, but also potentially Ancient Greece? Aloy appears to have been added to the game as a requirement from Sony for getting the game on Playstation. The devs seem to have put minimum effort into her and pretend she never existed, and the move was largely poorly received by the playerbase. 1:00:06 I mean technically. The original Chinese name for Vision translates to "Eye of god." Visions are the gems most characters wear that show what element they have - they're what give people elemental powers. Yun Jin is a Geo character. Which is basically the earth element. 1:07:19 I mean I doubt Chongyun would mind that. 🏳‍🌈 (I am obligated to state that this is not canon, lest the reactionary side of the Genshin fandom jump down my throat. But I mean... _come on._ ) Tighnari is based on a fennec fox. He and Collei are the Dendro element, which is plants. It has always been in the game, but they were the first playable characters who had it, and they were released in version 3.0. The name Candace is based on Kandake, which is a title for the queen mother in the African Kingdom of Kush. The English localisation team decided to go with the latinised Candace because they thought it would be easier for English speakers. People have been asking for more character model types for ages. Boy children and actually muscular men are the most commonly asked for. I doubt we're ever going to get any new models though. Kaveh is likely based on the same Honkai Impact 3rd character as Luocha is actually, rather than being related to Aventurine. Kirara is definitely Genshin's best catgirl. I just wish she had actual cat ears too. Still waiting for a catboy though. I don't really understand why Lyney isn't one, but his design is still perfect so I'm not complaining too much. Lyney and Lynette are twins, Freminet is their adopted brother. It's actually pretty impossible to make a good team comp with the three of them. Lyney's a dps whose damage increases the more Pyro characters you have in the party, so he's best in mono-Pyro teams, and Freminet is primarily a physical dps (you can run him as a Cryo dps or a melt dps (Cryo/Pyro reaction) but that's much more difficult), and he gets a damage buff when he shatters frozen opponents, so you want Electro and Hydro characters in his party. Electro because Cryo/Electro causes superconduct, which shreds physical resistance (which is necessary because a lot of enemies have high phys res), and Hydro because Cryo/Hydro causes freezing, which you can then shatter with Frem's claymore. Fun fact: Gaming has the same EN VA as the male Trailblazer from Star Rail. Oh and Cyno has the same VA as Jing Yuan if you hadn't noticed. Oh and Dehya has the same VA as _Yanqing._ Most of the characters who have been in the game since 1.0 didn't get character demos, but a few of them cameoed in other demos, as you saw. The girl with a white dress in Kaeya's demo was Barbara, and the purple witch was Lisa. The red bunny girl in Fischl and Eula's demos was Amber. The strict woman who grounded Klee was Jean, the pirate woman in Kazuha's demo was Beidou, and Shenhe's nephew is Chongyun. Do you plan to keep reacting to Genshin stuff before playing the game? Most people react to the version trailers next, but you might want to avoid those depending on how strict you are about spoilers. There's also the character teasers. And then there's Collected Miscellany, which is like "Keeping Up with Star Rail" in that it's primarily showing you the character's kit and teambuilding tips, with a couple of moments which tease their lore.

The nation's ingame are based on real nations so the culturistic touch of each is seen in the characters living in that certain region, Inazuma us based on Japan so samurai Sakura trees shrines and shrine maidens classical Japanese food and clothing styles are shown in characters like Ayaka kazuha and sayu. And yeah some characters don't have their own introduction video they considered base game characters

Geo is less "rock/earth" than it is "rock/energy," Albedo in particular is more about manipulating the nature of matter than he is about rocks.. It's to do with Chinese elements being a little more esoteric than Western ones.

1:32:18 Candace actually is a name originated from Africa, which initially was Kandake, and Candace is Kandake written in Latin replacing Ks with Cs. It should have been pronounced as the same as the original Kandake at the first place since C in classical Latin pronounced identically to K, so technically it's an African name and it's a good naming sense for a desert character, but surely it's more modernized and readable to goes by Candace for the character, after all, not many people knows how to read Kandake correctly and some may thought it was a Japanese name instead. 2:13:00 "ra" in Japanese is pronounced as the same as "la", so it's kilala 2:41:13 the voice is a perfect match with Chevreuse's character, storngly recommend the cutscene of Roses and Muskets for you, that's one of the greatest limited time event cutscene and one of the best voice performance so far in genshin. 2:43:04 yes, names are confusing in hoyoverse's game, GaMing here is a Chinese name, so it's called /gɑ: mɪŋ/, they use the character to reflect one of the Chinese New Year tranditions called Lion Dance

Kandake isn't a name at all, it's a title, specifically it's the rank occupied by the mother of the King of Kush. It was misinterpreted as a name by Greek and Latin scholars with the most common use being in the Bible. It's only ever been used as a name in the Latinised form.

I hope everything im going to say waen't answered already😅 1:28 Yes "Glanz der nacht" is German and means splendor of the night. 47:54 The sword comes from her "soul" she just happens to have big booba so it looks like its from between them🫣 57:30 The "ribbons" on their backs could be Shimenewa or enclosing rope. Made out of lenghts of laid rice straw or hemp rope used for ritual purification in the Shinto religion. (Not 100% sure as i haven't seen anything about them being worn like that.

the thing about neuvilette's "I will use the past to judge the future" is literally about what a judge should do in a trial. how would he convict someone if he doesn't use the past of what the suspect did? it's not about being sentimental and not judging someone based on his past. it's about what should be done in a court.

Fun fact: Zhongli is the only character who can apply the Petrified status to enemies. If I am not mistaken it's the only Geo-related status effect. Geo isn't supposed to apply debuffs at all, but this one is the exception. Mechanically it works pretty much like Frozen, except it doesn't require a reaction of two elements, which makes it even more anomalous. Another fun fact: Zhongli is the only character who got directly buffed after release. His kit was significantly reworked. His skill was made less clunky, his shield strength was significantly increased, a secondary HP scaling was added to his attack and skill DMG and so on.

Though technically having the others does buff her (the actual skill boosts atk for each unique element on the team. In this case wind, fire, and ice. The one before gets a buff with more fire characters.) 2:21:46 his thing is the little bar you just saw, his burst buffs himself and makes the skill tied to that bar have no cooldown. 2:25:29 he’s referring to the entire nation and the “original sin” they bare. 2:27:56 most are is these trailers but you didn’t see anime batman. 2:34:03 it’s a hat 2:38:07 only thought I’ll give on her is that I find it quite fitting her base is in the sewer. 2:40:41 idle animation only 2:41:25 she also voices Futaba in Persona 5

During Itto’s trailer, the term Vision is used, it’s what each character has that grants them their elemental powers, Anemo(wind), Geo, Electro, Dendro(nature), Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo, it’s explained that when someone’s ambition reaches a certain point, the gods take favor upon them and grant them their Vision. Every element has one particular individual that is the most powerful, an Archon and so far, the Archons we’ve met so far are Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, Nahida, and Furina. When the next two areas come out, Natlan and Schneznaya, we will meet the Pyro and Cryo Archons

Fun fact: if you look carefully at the Venti trailer you can spot that in some shots it shows the old Electro Cicin Mage model from the beta, while in others - the current one. You can tell them apart by the outfit. The current one wears leggings but has an exposed midriff. Electro Cicin Mage is the purple lady that attacks Venti. It is fun to watch old trailers, especially the ones that came out before the game's release and look for things that have changed since then.

Seems like you wondering why some of those characters has Germany flavour or something like that. Well, it's because, all 7 nations in the game was inspired by certain culture in the real world. - mondstat mainly inspired by Germany and some Scandinavian culture. - Liyue was from china. Maybe from Han or/and Ming period. Inazuma was from Japan. Taken from around sengoku period all the way to Tokugawa shogunate period. Especially when the sakoku edict implemented. ( banning and/or extremely strict controlling of foreign influence. More or less forbidding any foreigner to enter the country ). - Sumeru was largely taken from Persian culture, some Indian culture, and in the desert area some ancient Egypt. - Fontaine was taken from mixed French, with a little bit from British and Italian ( in the form of some of their food and their people's name ). It was, more or less, inspired from those 3 countries steam punk era( around 1880 to 1920's, or victorian era in Britain ) - Natlan, the soon released new region, will be inspired from South American culture in pre Colombus era to early Colombus era. And, might be taken some of Spanish culture in it. It's not released yet and the dev team even never giving us a real xoncrete concept of how that nation will be like. - Snezhnaya will be taken from Rusia. Which era ? Well, it's the same with natlan. They never really giving us real concrete concept of what kind of culture they have, except that most of the NPCs form this nation has Russian name. Even their leader is called Tsaritsa, a female form of Tsar. this nation will be released in 1 and half year from now on, at the fastest if there's no delay in update schedule.

Getting to Furina's story will be a heck of a long ride because the entire world is a pre-requisite for it. But god it's so worth it, her story (and Fontaine's story) is top-tier. I cried a bunch of times when I played through it. It is pain, grief, determination, and relief all in one.

Wanderer isn't his actual name, and it's only temporary, as you get to rename him in-game in a quest. If you ever react to the Version Trailers, you can find his old name, and if you look through the Character Teasers and the Story Teasers, you get his backstory. There's a lot of outside-of-game lore on Genshin's youtube channel, and I'd recommend you watch them. Whether you choose to record it or not, it's really interesting and a fun way to pass time.

Re: Aloy Yeah so when she came out, the HZD sequel was scheduled to be released soon (though it ended up getting pushed back a few months) and Hoyo was trying to get crossplay with Playstation so...that's probably how the crossover happened. A lot of people don't really like her because she's marketed as a "five star" character but she wasn't really treated like one and isn't as powerful and Hoyo has basically forgotten her since she released. I personally like her but I like Aloy the actual character so it's fun running around as her in Genshin. As regards HZD the game: it's very different from either Genshin or HSR but it's a really great game with a really deep story. If you like action RPGs you might want to give it a go.

The community has been begging for muscular men in this game for ages. Itto's painted-on abs and noodle arms were a huge disappointment when he debuted. Alhaitham is slightly better but it's smoke and mirrors through his clothes. There's only so much they can do with the skinny tall male model they have. There's an important character named Varka who we haven't seen yet (only read and heard about through dialogue) who's supposed to be huge. Our hopes are on him for Hoyoverse to make a new male model.
