Today I'm trying out the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Unlocked Leopard Palette and sharing some comparisons and all of my thoughts!
I compare this palette with the Ambient Lighting Sculpture Palette (2020) and the Ambient Lighting Elephant Palette (2022) as well as comparisons with this years Jellyfish & Snake Palettes.

Shannon, I’m so glad you reviewed this. I do not own a lot of hourglass. I have the 2021 release in the lighter, which is lighter like jellyfish, so I ordered Leopard with the Owl packaging. No one is reviewing this so thank you!

THIS is the review I have been waiting for! So glad you did it and compared sculpture. 100% agree, Hourglass if you are listening for sure 3 blushes, 1 finishing, 1 highlight. I skipped the palettes last year, no bronzer was a deal-breaker, and I waffled on elephant and it sold out 😢 My sculpture palette is a must for travel, but I feel like it could be improved and now I know what was bothering me, the blushes are both pale. However the highlighter in sculpture is my favorite bc it is subtle. I was trying to talk myself out of it and I do wish the blushes were more different, I long for a true nude and pure peach with more orange and less pink so I can make two different looks. But i think the Leopard is still an improvement over my Sculpture for travel! I did get Snake and I can make some of it work, but it is too dark to be a complete face for me or only coming on beach vacations when I tan 😂 Thank you, this was the exact information I needed, love your take on the palette and how your criticisms were fair while reinforcing the pros and who this palette is for. So many people were trashing this palette and being so negative, but we dont all have every palette! I own tons of Hourglass, but most these shades are new to me. The 3 blushes is huge for me. Now if only they can make one with magnets and sell the inserts separately so you can make your own!

Thank you for your kind comments. I try to always be positive but also critical. I’ll be honest, negative videos get more views. But most people don’t have every palette. Last year, I only got elephant. Leopard is definitely my favorite of the 3 this year. Jellyfish is pretty but I wish there were 3 blushes instead of 2. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Thank you for doing this review! I don’t see many reviewing it, too many repeat shades maybe? I ordered this color story in the owl packaging. I have 4 out of the 6 shades in the jellyfish (separate, no palettes ). The snake intimidates me! Lol. Much appreciated 😊

I think that’s why. Only one new shade, so most are going for the other 2. However, unless you are a collector, you probably don’t have all 5 shades. If you have Elephant, it may be a skip. However I do like it more than Elephant because there are 3 blushes. And the snake is too dark for me. I can make it work, but not something I am going to reach for.

I don’t think you need the lighter one. If Leopard works for you, stick with it. I really light Jellyfish but I don’t like that there are only 2 blushes

Great reviews. I just watched your Jellyfish palette video. Loved the different comparison. I cant decide between the Jellyfish or leapord one. I have light medium skin tone and looking for the most natural. I dont wear foundation every day normally a skin tint. So little concerned leapord would be too much. What would you recommend out of the two? 🤔

Based on what you are saying, I’m thinking more Jellyfish. I like the highlighter and bronzer more. Only downside is that there are only 2 blushes. However if you don’t wear foundation, you may enjoy the 2 finishing powders

i totally agree with you about the set up: 1 finishing powder, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer and 3 blushed. Honestly i got the elephant and the tiger palettes last year, and they are very expensive. But i never reach for them. Why ? because it is too confusing. You don'T need more than 1 finishing powders, I am always afraid to dip into the wrong one and mess my foundation base. Having to check what powder is which, all the time when you use a face palette is not user friendly...

Very good points. A palette can be absolutely beautiful, but if you never reach for it, it’s not worth it.

I still struggle to get this palette, it is quite expensive. But I did not have any hourglass blushes, wanted to give it a try.........not sure I need whole palette or just get a single blush, but one blush almost cost the half price of this palette.

If you are unsure, then wait. There was a 20% promo code that I posted in my Community Tab not too long ago. It's probably expired, but you can try it. Or wait for a sale. Always remember, no makeup is NEEDED. It's fun, but you shouldn't go broke because of it.

@@tiredmom86 Sculpture is good. It was my only one for 2 years. However, the blushes are paler. I personally prefer the ones in Elephant or Leopard, but when it was my only one I used it CONSTANTLY

I found your video because I have been searching for comparisons with the Sculpture palette, since it is still available on HG's website... At ~19:10 you said the leopard was "better overall" than sculpture; including "the bronzer is better" "the highlighter is better" and "the blushes are brighter".... but for me, I prefer the shade of the bronzer swatch in sculpture, I prefer a more subtle highlight like the one in sculpture, and I have enough bright blushes in my collection and would prefer more natural shades. So I really do appreciate the swatches, but I think it would have been a lot more informative to see a more objective comparison, because I don't really agree with your analysis of which is better :)

For what you want, Sculpture is definitely better.
