I am SO excited for this video because I am going to be reviewing one of the hottest holiday 2022 releases of the season: The Hourglass 2022 Holiday Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palettes! I will be doing swatches and daylight applications of all 3 palettes: Butterfly, Elephant, and Tiger. I will also do comparisons between the 3 and with other palettes from previous years. Sofia, you have a talent to give us all the information that we don’t get from other KZbinrs, you have that business mentality which puts you above the rest. Not only do you show all the swatches, side by side comparisons but in addition you break it down in dollars and informs the viewer from all aspects. Just because something is new and comes in a pretty package, doesn’t mean that we need to jump on it and purchase it. With all that said, throughout the video I kept looking at your face and wondering which palette you had on your face. Love the fact that you always show how a product can be used on the eyes and face as well. Didn’t see anyone with the lighter skin tone recommend the tiger palette but somehow you made that one work beautifully. Your makeup application is a head above the rest.

The tiger is my favorite... artwork & shade selection wise and I have light skin... I will get this one and use the finishing powder as bronzer and the deeper highlighter as blush... I much prefer to have shades that are distinctly different vs the same blush in slightly different intensity... and it's their first true warm coral/orange blush! I love how you used the tiger palette! I have a similar skin tone and ordered it on day one and was doubting myself, but the way you used it was beautiful. The warm tones were calling out to me and the packaging is stunning. It's helpful (although disappointing) to see how similar the Elephant and Butterfly are to prior releases. What a fantastic review Sofia! I'm shade 4.5 N in Dior foundations, I absolutely love the Tiger palette. It is so easy to use, with a flattering finish. It has definitely simplified getting ready and I feel like I don't need to reach for multiple face products after setting my foundation, and it plays well with warmer bronzy, muted pink and cooler purple eye looks. This is definitely the most versatile face palette that I own and my fav purchase for 2022.

Hi Sofia, think this is my second time watching ur channel. And boy, you really me captivated!!! I am amazed how u can carry that tiger palette on ur fair skin tone!! The way u use the palette really can put make every cents worth!! Love all of ur eye look with the 3 palette, so pretty!!! Now I am super tempted to get both elephant and tiger palette. As a Pro MUA I can see in those palettes versatility, as the Butterflies (lightest one )for photography for example to enhance light depending the work you want to create and achieve. It’s a beautiful palette for Editorial. That one was my first purchase even many KZbinrs were given negatives as feed back. I have light complexion as well not fair as yours. The Tiger omyyyyy when I saw that palette I thought face, cheeks, eyes and lips, what a gorgeous palette. If you travel it’s all you need 🥰 The Elephant it’s amazing as well even have existing shades but gorgeous as well. I’m new on this platform and I love to teach and share techniques as giving tips of how to multitask a product. Very well done and you are angelical!

Well that’s what I needed to hear. You have done the best video in terms of necessary information to make the best purchase for me and my liking. I’m very fair but have a couple of years holiday palettes from hourglass and do not like having duplicate shades especially in the finishing powders. My eye has been drawn to the tiger palette from the beginning but I was afraid after watching other reviews it would not work on my skin tone. But seeing it on you I love the undertones and difference in colors and I don’t own any of the powders so it’s a win win. And it’s my favorite artwork with the tigers on the aqua background. I am so happy to see this review from you. your skin tone is similar to mine and i love your honesty. i have seen a reviewer that showed all the pallets on her skin and went in way too heavy on the deeper pallet and the said this is too pigmented it wont work on fair skin im like girl lighten the hand and get some softer powder brushes! i wont mention names i wanted to say something but i thought it would come across too mean. i hate how these all have pinky blushes i cant wear pinky blush because of my flourid complexion so i love a beige or orange blush. the colors in the tiger pallet reminds me of my rms blush which i love and showing us the swatches of the bronzers from the elephant to tiger pallet im glad i purchased the deeper pallet because the gold bronze tone looks so bad on me i need a neutral color bronzer since i have blue undertones. i think and hope that the deeper pallet will work for me cant wait to get it. and i love how you show that it also works for us fair ladies! honesty is everything this is why i like you much great review

I know who you are referring to and in all fairness to her, she said she placed it on heavy so that all skin tones could see the colors clearly. If she had used the Tiger pallet lightly, deeper skin tones would not have been able to see the true color.

This was incredibly helpful! As someone with a deeper skintone, I’m always disappointed that Hourglass holiday palettes aren’t designed to include people like me. Good to know the tiger palette is probably going to be suitable and wasn’t just photographed in particular lighting on social media.

Once again a first class review with all the details in place. Some of my thoughts. Hourglass in an amazing brand which produces great complexion products but they have a few issues. 1. Their products tend to cater more for fair skin although they seem to be making more of an effort recently. 2. It really annoys me that they tend to have blushes which are so similar in one palette. I think the Tiger palette is the most unique/attractive.

For people who are eyeing the butterfly palette, hourglass actually has a three pan palette called ambient lighting palette-ethereal edit. It has ethereal light, incandescent strobe light and diffused heat which I think is similar enough to one of the blushes in the butterfly palette. I got it from Ulta and I believe it’s still available!

Oh man, the tiger palette has the best curation, by far. Hopefully hourglass takes note, and maybe includes a warm and cool blush, a bronzer, etc in each of the holiday palettes for next year. I ordered the tiger. I am in the process of returning to my non-summer light medium, so hopefully I can make it work.

It sounds like a lot of consumers are liking the Tiger one. I hope this will show Hourglass that they can sell darker pigments and should expand. When they launched that first Unlocked palette, it was better for medium complexions and it sold out!!

Excellent video. I always like the Hourglass palettes and use mine all the time. They cost quite a lot, so I am not gonna pick another one up until I have this one and my single. To me, it makes sense to have more than 1 ambient light finishing powder in the palettes, and they aren't supposed to be very different. They are supposed to reproduce the effect that a specific light would have on the skin, so I don't expect huge differences, since it's still light, but appreciate the subtle difference and the effects it makes. I am glad they serve more skin tones now. However, I will never understand why Hourglass got so much hate for their shade range while other companies, such as Chanel, don't, even if they do the same or even worse.

I ended up going for the elephant palette (with the tiger artwork because light blue is my favourite colour) and I think I made the right choice for my skin tone. I was torn between that and the tiger one which is stunning but I don't have a light enough hand for it. Downside, it's gonna take a million years to arrive here in Italy 😭 but I just couldn't wait for the Sephora release + I really loved the idea of the customization.

Omf that tiger palette is STUNNING. I have fair skin, I won’t get it though bc I can’t justify it as I won’t use all the shades. The butterfly palette not really having a bronzer, and the elephant palette having 2 blushes that are so similar makes none of these justifiable to me. Too bad, maybe if it goes for a really good sale price though😅
