@BigMaani6 жыл бұрын
@Uncle Rico I mean the workers probably won't change their gloves after dealing with meat and probably assembled the patty and the burger on the same station as the ones with meat. Additionally they wouldn't have another burger station for just vegan burgers.

@Uncle Rico Yes so thank you for supporting my point of not trusting such fast food chains. Remains of meat are a big deal for vegans so if they'd like such a "vegan burger" from a fast food chain they should do it at their own risk.

Oh and to answer your question about why it costs more I'll just put it the most simplified way. Its because of the cheese. You know how lactose intolerant people go for soy usually? Or I dunno if you're putting err... "bacon" on a whopper it still costs more? Well its still the same deal with this. The only way it would be cheaper is if they offered out the veggie patties without the cheese. Also I believe it differs from state or even suburb and thats probably more about how they get the cheese in. I dunno if you live in Sydney but I'm pretty sure the last time I ordered it, it cost $6.65 for the burger alone. The pattie should have had potato in it. Everything is always better with potatoes.

Look in to it but I was told that the Government subsidises the beef industry and that why regular burgers aren’t as expensive as they should be and probably explains the $7.20 vegan burger at Hungry Jacks. I ate one of these, to celebrate becoming a pensioner. It was quite good. I've tasted other vegetarian hamburgers from the chains, and they were usually oily. Not this one. Best of all was the vegan mayonnaise. I don't like mayonnaise made from eggs. They should put the vegan mayonnaise on their meat hamburgers! Should probably get an extra point just for being a vegan option. If major fast food chains can start selling more vegan things, that's the biggest thing we can realistically do in the short term as far as animals are concerned. It's essentially a moral duty to buy a burger if you're a vegan lol (whenever you realistically can). There are far better vegan patty options though, but they seemingly didn't go that route (like the patties that taste like meat). But it is what it is. But yea this is good for people who eat meat too. Particularly if they just want to decrease their meat consumption to a certain degree.
@dkyelak5 жыл бұрын
BK's new Impossible Burger is actually pretty good. It isn't any more nutritious but they nailed the patty for flavor and texture. Not sure if it's available in Australia.

@@dkyelak - Oh cool. In select locations in Australia, Hungry Jacks is trialing a "kinda-meat" burger. I want to try that one. Apparently it's rather good... ticks the boxes. sounds interesting. Only vegan food I'd eat is a falafel pita. Not too stodgy, and it tastes nice without feeling like a cheap replacement for some sort of meat. I'm not big on vegan food. But I appreciate that there are those that choose that lifestyle for whatever reason. I don't think I'll ever stop eating meat, though. It's too damn delicious, and I'm not wrapped up in the moral implications of slaughter. I regularly choke my chicken, for example.
