They aren't that good. The Philly burgers are better, but still not that good. You can usually go to any meat market and get pre made beef patties made up for not that much more or even cheaper.
@dvlexotics21774 жыл бұрын
The only hamburger meat I eat is when I pick out the meat pre grind and have the butcher grind it. Its been known that large grocery stores use meat glue or fillers in their hamburger so I dont buy pre made or frozen hamburgers. I use a nice 70/30 cut of meat to make my burger and its perfect for burgers and is perfect for mixing with venison for venison burgers.

I had one of these a few nights ago, and I was quite impressed. Like you said, no insipid mashed potatoes, no ridiculous brownie with complicated cooking instructions of its own, just good hearty food. I really liked the grits, which I've never had with extra stuff in them before. I've only had them plain with butter. And my first bite of the meat was surprising because I thought "this Salisbury steak really tastes like meatloaf. "Only later looking at the box did I realize it wasn't salisbury steak, and was indeed meatloaf. Good meatloaf.

I'm a Northerner, never been South. I love grits. I use the quick (not instant) in the microwave, salt, pepper, garlic powder, hot sauce, a huge hunk of butter, and some cheese (usually American). Even better if I also have bacon. They taste great and are quick and cheap.

The point of Angus beef is that the meat is marbled: there’s marbling (areas of fat in the muscle). Putting it in a meatloaf has no advantages except marketing to the ignorant...
@greyeaglem4 жыл бұрын
All the hype about Angus is just marketing. Angus is not the best beef out there. There's other breeds I prefer, but Angus is more profitable so they conned everyone into thinking it's the best.

@D Mack Even the government standards have dropped over the years. What used to be considered select would now be choice. Can't even get prime any more. It's all pre sold to restaurants. Meat isn't anything like it used to be. I don't remember the last time I saw a meat grade on a package of beef. The only time I dealt with meat grades was a few years ago when I was still running a restaurant and ordering wholesale.

I have never heard the sauce used on Garbage plates referred to as "Rochester Sauce", It's usually called hot sauce or chili sauce. Its a meat sauce. I think they had to use that name because people outside of central New York would have been confused otherwise. I had to google the name, I don't live that far from Rochester. I don't know about mixing it in the meat loaf, but topping the meat loaf sounds like a great idea. BTW I would like to see Wolfe Pit make a Garbage Plate. It's got all the best comfort food in it.

It's amazing that you Americans have this huge selection of ready made frozen meals. In my country it's pretty much buy the ingredients and cook yourself, or go to a restaurant. Probably a good thing though. We used to have frozen meals, but it's much healthier and cheaper to cook for yourself, so they weren't exactly a sales hit.
