You definitely have fun! Yeah. The people in Rheinland created this kind of Axehead with the lil cut on the underside; it's because you can maybe hung she somewhere. -you can't do this with a Canada Iltis.. I think it's a Ochsenkopf. The handle is called Cowfoot, because of the swing. It's the most comfy one. We have different handles at all. The Bavarian by ex. But most use is this one. The leaf of the Rheinland is only a lil bit thicker as from a Iltis, which is meant - the original idea behind was it should be paralell. So you can do better fine tasks, and cut the branches of a tree easier. So it's not really for splitting, but you can do all camptasks. Sure, always take gloves.. but if you swing the ding, you should change the hand position! For left and right you have once the right, once the left hand is holding the Axe and the other have the swinging part.. this is one reason why your cut is so steep also. The breathlessness - that's why most people, and also Loggers, use max. 1000g (head). Because you must be able to handle a 'universal axe' the whole day.. for whatever task. Btw, you are a very sympathic man!

Rhine (or Rhein in german) is a really big river originating in switzerland and going through big parts of western germany and the netherlands, but also marks part of the border to france and germany. I live less than 10 miles from it. Didn't know an axe style was named after it, I always called chopping axes "forestry axes" Also am surprised it is made in germany, since husqi is swedish. I sometimes like to delimb with them.

You should get some tree cuttin' tips on your beaver trappin' trip. If you get serious and want to chop a lot of trees into firewood, you should put a little Honda engine on that thing! or maybe a Husqvarna. Wouldn't have to be real big, like your 392 (272?), a small one would give you exercise as you tote it around. You should also switch hands every now and again. Keeps all those mighty muscles balanced from side to side! Don't wanna stretch out your blue tutu either. - Choppin' like that stirs up the oxygen, makes it hard to fetch up proper doses of oxygen, and of course, leaves you short of breath! Chop slower, and you breathe better. Gives the air a chance to settle down. Sometimes, it only takes a couple minutes in between chops to stabilize the oxygen, if the conditions are right! At least, that's always worked for me! When you get into pine or oak or balsa, might take a little longer. Keep smilin'! Old guy told me once you can say ANYTHING, as long as you say it with a smile! John Wayne agreed. Remem his line in one movie, "Smile when you say that, tourist!" GNI

Hi Chris 😮you used metric😮😂 I think axe's are like cars or chainsaws. Some people obsess over them some people don't care as long as it works well. I have a Chinese hand splitter which I Utterly love and it's awesome. I'd love to get a gransfurbruk axe because it's hand forged Scandinavian goodness, but it's kinda like the Lamborghini of axes. Interestingly I have never seen a double bit axe in new Zealand, our axe head pattern is closer to the Rhine pattern. I do use an axe every so often for limbing if I'm down at the river bank cutting Great video GNI 🙋🥝
