Fair review RAX the GREAT! The comparison between the Retron 2 HD and Nintendo OEM is the most telling. The audio is definitely not the same but the graphics are crisp. Thank you for comparing these and giving budget gamers another option to think about.

Really good job with the video, RAX! As others have said below, the NES audio was really telling, and that would personally steer me away from getting one. That being said, if you're on a budget and looking to get these consoles output to an HDTV, then this is a viable option!

Aldo Araujo exactly this isnt for the hardcore detail oriented person it is for the easy going gamer who just wants to get back into retro gaming its basically the fisher price version of higher end HDTV clones, but it works and its pretty close to the higher end clones but yes it does have some flaws

I was just about to pull the trigger on a RetroTink before I saw this video! I’m trying to get the best picture for my NES games when I stream. I’m thinking this might be the way to go over the RetroTink because of how washed out the colors look. Even with the “sound issues” it might be worth it to get such a beautiful picture! Thanks for the review!!

yeah i recently upgraded to the Analogue Super NT but i enjoyed this console and still use it for my NES games and it works great honestly.

no they wont you have to use a snes controller for a snes game and the same goes for NES.

Really just look like their RetroN HD and Supa RetroN HD put together, which is a shame since the their NES clone is really bad (bad audio, weird colours and a blurry picture quality since they basically used a Composite to HDMI converter). At least, it looks like they improve the handling of 240p on the SNES part, which is good since the Supa RetroN HD could become quite blurry with too much movements, but it's hard to tell with a video.

Is a combo of an NES on a chip and SNES on a chip. Think of it as a hardware emulator that isn’t quite as nice as an FPGA

Looks good actually. Better than the standalone systems. The colors are off and audio is quite right but for the price is a decent offering. It just won't replace the AVS or Super NT.

@@RAXtheGREAT Yeah you're right about that. For a non hardcore gamer that just wants to play their childhood games in HD this system is a good option. The price is right and the console is good enough. It easily beats original hardware with composite video which many people would use otherwise.

Saves damage on original hardware plus original hardware isn't as reliable these days. Things like the Super NT are way too expensive for kids. To be fair this console would also be great as a second system to put into a workshop or something.

Great review Rax. This would be a contender for me in the past, but my wife already bought me an AVS and I bought the Analogue Super NT so don't have a need but would highly recommend this to anyone else who is looking for a budget HD solution for NES and SNES. I did buy the Hyperkin HD Genesis for like 35 off amazon during a sale and use that, until I get around to getting the Mega SG from Analogue. I notice a difference in colors though when using the Hyperkin vs a standard Genesis. For instance when playing Quackshot, Donald's beak is very red vs orange.
