Thanx Vic. This model will do 1Amp charging for one battery only, 500maH if you charge two at a time. I have a Nitecore and love the safety features but the darn things are as slow as a wet weekend at 500maH.

Just got this(for whatever reason my mod[VooPoo Argus GT 160W] wouldn't take a charge through the type c port, it would just lower the percentage..lol) and I love it. It charges my 2 AWT 18650 batteries wonderfully. I'll be getting another pair of batteries soon so I'll always have a pair on the charger and a pair always fully charged. Always have backup ammo on hand! Btw the Argus GT is also wonderful incase anyone is considering it. It's a great little pod/tank hybrid with nice airflow(though I could do without the bottom pour design, but you can always swap the tank out with a different one!) and a kickass sense of style, red and black leather!

I accidentally inserted a battery with reverse polarity in the charger. I didn’t notice until half an hour later and I was scared shitless. Thankfully this offers protection against that. If you see me on the news saying I died to a battery explosion then that’s probably why 😩 I hope this charger lives up to what it says

Thanks for the excellent review. I also have the new version of the i2 charger & rate it highly. I agree with your advice not to mess with the settings, just let it analyse the batteries & select the appropriate mode it'self. There are so many fake batteries on the market it's worth paying the extra money & buying genuine items. Beware of cheap batteries!

To be safe remember to lay your charger flat on its back on a flat hard surface. DO NOT lay it on a cloth or any textile type surface, or a quality wood surface such as an expensive coffee or dinner table as it does get fairly warm, and can damage or blemish the wax or coating on delicate wood. Laying it flat on its back is safer than standing it upright, as heat does rise, and this charger's venting is designed to dissipate heat more uniformly and effectively when it is laying flat.

It's a decent solid charger but trying to get a 21700 in there is pretty bloody difficult, I'd hate to try to fit a 26650. Maybe there's a special trick or technique I'm missing here but yeah, it's not easy. 18650s go in fine but I find anything larger is a royal pain for me.

Normal. Thing is, its ventilated very well. So yeah you will smell it. To the contrary of closed chargers. You wont smell them, bcos they arent ventilated. Which in turn makes the charger and batteries too hot dicreasing lifetime and increasing fire risk.

It seems fine when I use the left bank with 18650 lithium, but when I put right bank in using standard 18650 lithum batteries, both 4 leds start flashing. Either a short, non rechargeable or you put the battery in with reversed polarity. Seriously though your manual explains this how you can mess with something so potentially dangerous without reading the instructions prior is just asking for trouble.

it says right on the bottom that it only does 1amp charge for 1 slot. it will only do .5 amp charging both slots. better off getting the old school xtar vp1 that will charge both bays at 1 amp

Hi, I just received this in the mail, checked to verify authenticity. All is well. My question is about the lights: I had 2 spare Sony VTC6 18650’s that I picked up from my local shop last week in anticipation of this charger. I run a smok al85 with an external single cell but can be charged via USB. I had not used either of the spares, but I popped them both into the charger 2 hours ago, and both sides are now flashing green at the bottom 30% indicator notch. Is this normal? In theory they should both have been showing close to full charged when I put them in slots, no?

there are two versions (defective new i2 and fixed new i2). Nitecore will not change the name of the fixed version. Nitecore is too lazy. If your charger works then keep it and avoid nitecore forever.

PLEASE ANSWER!! I got this I2 Intelcharger at my local vape shop and the package has a legit scratch off sticker. I've been using this to charge my 18650s successfully for 5 months now. So it will have no issues charging 21700 batteries? Ordered the Topside Squonk mod that takes a single 21700. Just wanted to verify. Prefer to ask a dumb safety question instead of being arrogant and god forbid something goes wrong!

It can take between 3 - 5 hours depending on the batteries. 1 battery charging at 1amp will charge faster than 2 batteries at 500milliamps. And batteries have different mah, so a 3000mah battery will take longer to charge than a 2500mah battery.

The manual that comes with it has gramatical errors too and is quite hard to understand due to structure not being very english/latin based like. Though not a bad translation, its a bit cheap

The "new" Nitecore I2 you are reviewing here is the older version, and has been out for 3 years. The newest charger is the Nitecore SC2 Superb Charger.

If the 3.7 is on the battery, that is the output. The capacity of the battery is still 4.2, according to an electric engineer that got me into vaping

HI this may be a redundant question but I was wondering: I have some 18650 batteries for my vape and they drain pretty fast while vaping, they are about a year old, I've heard you can do a reset or refresh with this battery charger to bring old batteries back to a new state so I went out and bought the charger but I just don't know how to do it and the directions didn't help much either

Depends on the battery. If a batery iz 1ah (1000mah) then 1 batery will be charged in 1 hour on the 1ah setting. If you charge 2x 1ah then it will take 2 hours to charge both.

that does seem slower than normal but it is only a 1 amp charger so it is very slow to new standards

This is because when charging two batteries the charger will give 0.5amp to each battery. It be can set it to charge the first battery at 1amp and when that battery is charged it will charge the second battery at 1amp. I think this Vick guy gets it wrong here when he says you shouldn’t fiddle with it but it’s quite clear in the instruction manual. Either way, it will take about 5 hours to charge two 2500mah batteries or longer for any higher rated batteries. Nitecore also do a 2 bay charger that will charge both batteries at 1amp each. Although it’s not advisable, to get round this I do charge my batteries overnight (as the New i2 charger has overcharge protection) but I place the unit on a non flammable surface in my hall close to a smoke alarm which can detect slightly burnt toast from my kitchen. In the morning I’ve got two fully charged batteries ready to go.
