I have the Marcus recon 5+ and it works really good in clear water during the day night time is Soso. But a awesome unit all together. Have fun with it and enjoy the hard water.

I'm on my second Marcum camera now. The first one I had for 18 years! I don't have that HD model, but I do have the one that records and I love it. Way better video quality than the last one, though the black and white lasted longer in low light conditions with my older one.

I have that mount hole on mine as well (Recon 5+) and I have one of those flexible camera mounts. It works great to attach to my hub shelter, or wrap around my fish locator!

I am 50/50 on ice season. Winterize the boat today. Then go through ice tackle. I restarted ice fishing last season after about a 20yrs not ice fishing. Last season on pools 7 an 8 it was sketchy with thin ice. My best outings were on the Wis River near the Dells and on Mendota. So I have no issue traveling to spots. I just have a ton to re'learn about ice fishing. But I am giving it a go.

I mounted my camera on my boat. 3d printed a tail for the camera so it always points in the direction of travel.

Be careful plugging into the usb port. I have a marcum hd plus. The usb port inside the camera broke off and was rattling around inside of it. I took the camera apart and where the usb’s placement it is only soldered in 2 places that aren’t very stable. They may have revamped it for your model but I had to have some electronics guru’s solder it back on. In other words be gentle plugging in the usb.
