I have the OG version of this but with the newer miyota 8315, which hacks and has 60hrs power reserve. It’s been very accurate and you can definitely feel the benefit of that extra 20hrs power reserve. And, the rotor noise isn’t a issue as reported with the 8215. Very impressed with this watch finishing and the movement. They could have just used the 8315 in this model. I have enough nh35’s as I’m sure others do as well.

Your review convinced me to get this one in blue. Great value buy, especially if you get it on sale. Solid piece with beautiful dial & case finishing. The lug-to-lug and male end links work out on my 6.75 in wrist. Narrower wrists may have issues with overhang. Overall great diver with nice wrist presence.

Nice review as always Shane. The little tweaks they have made between this and the previous version add up to make an already good watch, a great one in my opinion. It's far more than just a movement change, as some might suspect. I actually have a comparison review with the SN036G that I did recently. That shows all of the differences side by side.

San Martin still sells this with a Miyota movement. However, you can opt to buy one with an 8315 that has hacking and hand winding. Hopefully the 8315 avoids the "stuttering" issue too.

Very nice watch Shane. With an 8.1" wrist this would be a comfortable fit. As a diver myself I have never needed a HEV in over 20 years of scuba diving. However, it does look kind of cool! It did remind me of a Grand Seiko to a small extent. Some extra AR would be good, happy with that lume, and I've come not to mind an NH35. But, why not an NH38 given the price? Even at retail the NH38 isn't much more expensive than the 35. An extra 10usd on the price would still be good for this watch. Thanks Shane.

I'm guessing NH35s are still cheaper than 38s, or maybe easier to get in quantity. Maybe that's the bigger thing. I just got in the new ultra black watch from Venezianico, and they are doing the same thing. At $200 I can excuse it, but a $500 watch... come on.

And unacceptable at $500 That's what I told them I told him I wouldn't buy one until it's changed and still at $500 or 38 it's really pushing the envelope there. I'd like to get one of those but not expect it has right now that's what I told him not that they give a s*** though.

I like a lot of the design elements here (blue dial with a black bezel, skeletonized hands, red tip on the seconds hand)! It’s normally too big for me, but as an actual watch to take diving (as a secondary timer to my dive computer) it may be a real good choice. Female end links really woulda helped here…… On the bezel misalignment, that’s a real easy fix. Just put it face down in 70% alcohol for 30 mins or so and the glue should soften enough for you to push it into alignment. I done that myself with a few watches.

Good looking watch. So this Sea-Terra, like the former lead singer of Chicago? I have the HMBT Island Watches watch which has a similar look. I put it in a StrapsCo blue and white rubber strap with curved ends and it's a perfect summer watch look.

One thing I wish all these watch brands would get away with is the 300 m water resistance why? No really why All it does is make your watch thicker and I can't see that that's a good thing. Nobody in the right mind is going to 300 m or 200 m. I wish people would just stick with 200 m and move on.

Nice update on the original and a nice colorway with the gradient dial. I like the dial of this one equally with the original, and with or without crown guards, both look good. The NH35 is certainly a safer choice than the previous Miyota. The skeletonized hands look cool in the daytime but are slightly slower to quickly identify the time and some readability issues at night. I'm wondering though, does the case shape have the same downward curved lugs as the original?

Lug to lug is what kills it for those of us w/ smaller wrists. Case size would be fine if they brought it down to 45mm or under.

I would go for 46mm at the most for lug to lug, 38 or 39mm diameter.

Thanks. I haven't seen that one, I think it depends if you want a GMT or not. If not I think this looks cooler and maybe more interesting. Although I have heard they are coming with some new versions with special dials. Like aventurine.

Not Aqua-Terra. It's very Planet Ocean in the case shape, with a lot of Diver 300m in the dial and hands - two watches I've owned in the past. I don't care about the ghost position. This is a really nice piece. I only wished they used female end links - like on the Planet Ocean. Reflections are always an issue for double-domed sapphires, unless you put the AR-coating on both sides, which is really not great because the topside AR can scratch - and mine did on my old Planet Ocean. All in all this is a great watch and the one that Omega themselves should make. With these dimensions I would say only get it if your wrists are 7.5" or bigger.

What’s wrong with the ghost date? It literally takes 0,1 second to pull the crown to the second position. Also much bigger swiss brands are doing it like Tissot or german brand Laco.

@@RelativeTime No, I’ve watches this video many times, and only now I realize the markers on the insert don’t line up with the markers on the dial, and the offset is different for every marker. So it cannot be aligned. If you align the 12 marker perfectly, you’ll have the others misaligned (3,6,9 but also 7,5,11,1)

Nice looking but 175 grams on bracelet is too heavy . On a rubber strap or or type of strap OK but not on the bracelet for me as 175 grams is too heavy for daily wear in my opinion.

When you say Dive School, do you mean like a Padi Ocean class? Or do you mean like a commercial dive school to be a commercial diver? I know in my Padi class they didn't even care if you had a watch.

Yes all of that, but there's one thing once shown that you can't unsee on watches like these - it has an 11 at the 12 o'clock position LOL. I never noticed and some spoiler goose pointed it out on another channel and on another diver. Now I'd feel like a tosser wearing any diver if I'm not a damn diver esp with its pretentious helium escape valve on a sub $300 watch FFS! Before I was fine with it all. TBH, I was kind of wising up to the diver thing 2 years ago when someone did a faux Hulk review. He said of the shameless ripoff it was exceptional in every respect and could not fault a single thing about it but then right at the end of the review posed the question, "Would you feel comfortable wearing this watch?" He then directed the viewer to another retro copy of a Rolex from the same company that he thought was much more subtle. I must say though, I am warming to San Martin original watches. Give them a little longer, and if they an keep the price the same, then they might really be onto something.

You mean the double bars? Seen it before and never thought twice about it since. As for divers, divers are really the SUVs of the watch world. Even though most won't ever use them to their fullest capabilities, they are the jack of all trades and most just dig the style. Nothing wrong with that.

Well when your talking big brands, they are usually called Ambasadors, not influencers. Usually, sports figures and actors paid to wear the watches out and about. Most big brands have them, including Seiko.

Frankenmartin, that's what I would call it. Case sides, especially crown guards are so Tag Heur, vertical view PO, end links Rolex, bezel Rolex deepsea and a tone of a US micro brand (which I highly respect) NTH, a mixture of Odin+Kraken. The difference is that the NTH use miyota 9 series which is a high beat workhorse and naturally by far more superior to the atrocious nh35. Very sloppy job with the ghost position. Don't get me wrong just another Chinese knockoff. Assuming, just assuming the San Martin is one of the reputable Chinese brands, would have been nice instead of devoting time copying to actually work in original designs, but then again copy/paste is easier. Review, as always great, watch just meh....
