I'm a certified Precepts Bible Study leader. The classes go even further in-depth by focusing on keywords and themes within a book of the Bible. You get a full-size of those "worksheet" pages that you can fill in. A Precept Upon Precept study is like taking a college-level course, and it is worth it! You can join one online. Also, I use erasable gel pens and erasable highlighters for my markings. I wouldn't get those pens. (adding that you do not have to do all the markings all the time--the purpose is to focus on the keywords for that particular text. That's a common misconception. I tell my groups to never allow that to get in the way of the study. It's a tool in our study toolbox, and you can skip it if it isn't fruitful for your learning style. The inductive steps are the key to this study method.)

It looks as though they have cut down on the number of suggested symbols used to mark the Bible. I took several Precept Inductive Bible Study classes back in 2002-2005 ish. Back then the translation of choice was the NASB. There was a lot of other suggested symbols and colors used back then. And, we purchased the printed chapter we were studying that fit into a three ring binder, which was great because I could also slip in a sheet of notebook paper when needed. In the beginning, it was a bit overwhelming. But once I started to get the hang of using the symbols, I was the marking champ in my class! But, I am OCD. This newer marking system looks simpler for the newbie, and I can say that it was worth the time and effort. I no longer use all of the same symbols and colors, though a few have stayed with me over the years. If you are super serious about doing a deep dive, I can definitely give this method a thumbs up.

Thank you for the overview ! I do have this inductive Study Bible. although you did a brief review of what’s at the beginning of each book, it also guides you in great detail as how to do the study for each book since the books are different formats. It takes you step-by-step. So if you’re really trying to learn the abductive Bible study method, it’ll guide you in detail for several chapters at a time and how you should mark them up. Also for some of the books it will give you cross reference readings to do while you’re studying those chapters! It’s very in-depth. I use it from time to time but it’s not my main study Bible. Thanks again for the review.

This seems like a lot -- potentially very helpful, but also a little intimidating! I really like how it asks us as readers to name the themes of the chapters we're reading as we go. One great thing about this Bible is how it encourages its users to study and write and use their Bible!

i would love to see more space between the lines and definitely more note space. they could just make a double spaced bible with the worksheets to fill out at the end and that would suffice for me. but to each their own. the more note space to me the better. i loved the csb foundations new testament but they stopped making it. i just love a bible i can just go crazy in with my huge collection of highlighters and pens 😂 annotating helps me study and memorize easier… plus it’s fun.

So happy you are back! Great review. I can get overwhelmed easily when I try to make sure I am using consistent symbols or colors in my Bible. I know that sounds silly but I am a perfectionist and I don't want to mess it up so I just do the opposite and make my notes in the Bible however works the best for me on that day. So in this one area of my life no organization works the best for me. 😅

Great post. Thank You. A Harmony Of The Gospels is very useful I find as it helps you put meat on a biblical situation that is in two or more Gospels and gives you a deeper context. This is having all four Gospels side by side. But be aware also that some put different sections in different parts. I am Subscribed and find this channel very helpful. Thank you. If I say thanks one more time I'll get a theological trifecta.😂😄😁👍🙏 So Thank you

From what you've showed in your video, there were a lot of similarities in her book as well (the one I have). They also explained the Inductive study method, have space where you can fill in the chapter headings, make a summary or notes on a chapter/theme in the bible and the symbols they use. She basically have an intro into all 66 books of the bible and guide you through certain questions you mght have in that specific book. I find the book very insight- and helpful in my biblestudies. I hope you understand what I'm trying to carry over.... English is not my first language (mother tongue)...... Blessings

The Hebrew you see is the original names of the books and characters. The english is the transliterated names we are used to. In the Tanakh (Original Testament) the names of the book were either the first word or sentence of the book or the name of the character. For example B'reshit means "In the beginning" or "beginning" which is the first sentence of Genesis. Yehoshua is the original name for Joshua (Hebrew does not have the letter J, so typically wherever you would see a "J" it was originally a Y or an I (Iyyov instead of Job, Yeshua instead of Jesus). The Tanakh was written by Hebrews so understanding the hebraic perspective will allow you to understand the bible even deeper. As it is filled with many jewish idioms cultural references. Afterall it was written by Jews. God Bless 🥰🙏
