I said the same thing yesterday and got hammered for being insensitive and reckless because Ruidoso is a dangerous place. Who gives a dam about a burglary or two when there are people now homeless. Nothing stops burglary like having a space populated and active. The thing about such a disaster - the real victims won't be able to see the big picture for weeks, months or in some cases years. It's up to other NM citizens to put a stop to this gov't overreach. I own property in N NM, and though I'm not able to vote against the elected clowns who fall in line to condone this type of tyrannical behavior during "emergencies" I dang sure have paid enough property tax to be able to voice my opinion.
