Excellent video, thank you. I've been a loyal UA flyer for over 40 years, but not so often now, so I learned a lot! Great seat choice over the front of the wing so we got to see the leading edge of the wing retract after take-off, and also the thrust reverser come out on landing. Well done. I LOVE having the IFE headset jack under the screen instead of in the armrest where I can't see it. United trying to get all their money's worth out of these 757s is the right call.

Great video man! I had the chance of flying on an UA 752 to Denver back in September with the new cabin just like in this video!! It was supposed to be a 763 but got a last minute aircraft change. Sometimes we might not like last minute aircraft changes since we may already have something planned but that change was totally worth it! Grew up flying on the 757 with American and the trip I got with UA’s 752 gave me a lil of nostalgia!

The 757s are really nice to fly and I have worked them a lot. I worked on the 757s before the big renovation. These aircraft are the work horses of the industry. Thanks again for sharing.

Miami-based AvGeek here! I had a chance to fly from Newark to miami on the 752 but it still had the directTv seat back streaming and sadly mine didn’t even work. It was black the whole time. But despite that I still love flying in the good ole 757s and I’m glad they are updating the seats. But I know they will be retired as soon as the XLRs and Max 10s start getting delivered so must enjoy it while we can

No matter the newer planes, the 757 has been and will always be my fav aircraft to travel in. The RB211 sounds like a high end sports car every time I hear it. Yes, the 757 is ageing, but they built it spot on, excellent looks from the outside and with some decent interior upgrades, it still remains as the top jet to enjoy traveling with.

AA can brag about streaming to your personal device all they want but when the WI-FI doesn't work which it hasn't on the 4 American flights I have taken in the last 15 months, does not do a whole lot of good.

I am a frequent Delta flyer, hundreds of flights a year. I actually agree with AA's stance on a good streaming system. The IFE ages out too fast compare to our phones, tablets and computers. No matter the airline, there are always malfunctioning IFEs. What's even worse is that the IFE box eats up so much space under the seat. The excessive weight, reduced foot space, and minimal content are just some of the good reasons not to have them. In my experience, streaming service worked pretty well and I get a better screen on my own device.

So this configuration has actually been around for a bit now. This is the plane that UA has been using for transcontinental and international from the east coast. The new interiors will have updated lighting and larger overhead bins.

I truly miss the 757…. Again I’ll say (as I did on your 737-max video back in August) I’m happy for UA and Kirby for going this route. Again, AA needs to follow suit; they’re going backwards.

If I remember correctly United configured those interior before the announcement once 737 max 8 came in so they are very likely only got them because it’s the one that flies transcontinental mostly and made sense to upgrade new ptv so I think that’s why bins are not upgraded and very likely realized it’ll be end of service life and retired once they got it all retrofitted so doesn’t make sense to retrofit those retiring 757

I’m surprised they didn’t update the overhead bins and cabin panels like Delta did with their new 757 interiors. Delta 757 looks like the sky interior on the 737.

Yup, Delta's later deliveries of 757 have an earlier model of Sky Interior and the renovation brought them to the latest Sky Interior that matches 737 and 787. I tried to tell that to some United fans but they refused to believe it... and I have flown those DL 757 enough times to know better.

All the United 757-200 have seatback TVs, however, some of them have an older version of the TVs.

thanks all! I appreciate the response. The seats don't remind me of the ones on southwest and American for some reason. United felt more comfortable. I used to be impressed with American and their neat free seatback entertainment screens! Glad United is bringing it back, and ashame American just removed their seatback screens. Southwest is good but their older planes show their age easily.

This isn’t actually one of the more recently updated aircraft. This is a 75S… updated from the older 757-200’s but it’s a few years old still. The seats and IFE are similar to the new 737 MAX 8, but not what is considered the new “signature interior”.

Since this retrofit technically happened before the introduction of the new signature interior, I don't think they had plans on retrofitting the full cabin, however, as far as I am aware, with the retrofits announced this year, those do include the introduction of mood lighting and a cabin facelift, although personally I doubt we'll see these come to the 752s as they plan to be retired within a few years

They don't make 757s anymore so these aircraft are older than the 747s. When I last flew on them the IFE consisted of central CRT and stethoscope headsets!! (Really, the speakers were built into the armrest and it was a flexible plastic tube, not electric cable)😊

As much as I love United and the 757, for a transatlantic flight the American 787 might be a better choice if you want comfort, now if you wan't a real avgeek treat, then go with the 757.

If you are scheduled to fly on one United will tell you the amenities for your flight and you will see IFE instead of DirectTV
