Very happy for you. Ok...I have to admit the red stripe does add a little something to the van look. I love temps in the 80's too. You'll miss that bright Florida sunshine and water after you leave the state. Too bad you couldn't drive below Tampa....that's the point when the SouthWest coast of Florida becomes more tropical, lush foliage, cleaner/neater, turquoise waters, etc. Have a safe trip back home. Hope all goes well. I've enjoyed watching how you've made lemonade when life gave you lemons.Continue to be proud of yourself and what you are learning.

The red stripe is enough, I wouldn't paint the rims red. Keep them gray or paint them black. You are doing a good job customizing the van for your purpose, but if you want to get noticed red rims will be yelling for attention. Just buy a good set of hub caps.

Very good point, and on that same subject, Id replace those mufflers pretty soon. Glasspacks blow out in a few months, and then get quite a bit louder. Even with new glasspacks, I used to get pulled over alot. Make sure the catalitic converter(s) are still on there as well. Thats a pretty hefty fine for not running those.

Cool, Eric! That new intro is excellent, and I too as has been mentioned, are glad you kept the same intro music. Take my opinion about the red rims with a grain of salt, but I think they would lower your stealth meter & attract unwanted attention from both the law enforcement & law breakers. In the end, it's what you like though, and it's what you want to do to fix it up to your liking. I'm down with that! May you & Jax have many fun new adventures in Big Bertha!!!

Good job on the intro. You left us hanging on the solar water heater. You can wash and clean the wheels good, then paint them either red or black, then put on a set of baby moon hubcaps. It will make the rims look more like an accent than overwhelming. Or you could find some road warrierish looking hubcaps with bladed hubs. Things are looking good so hope you can be on the road again.

you are awesome braddah!!! i remember my favorite van i used to see in my home town back in the 70' when a van was a van. it had that same stripe..i think the van was orange and the stripe was black. no racks on top though. it had one of those porthole/bubble windows on each side somewhere in the rear... not sure if it was before or behind the up-stripe..... Love your videos... nice to see you back on the road, but also enjoyed all of the gearing up documentaries too. keep up the great work!!!

Well another positive thing about the van is that when driving, it won't take long to cool down with your dash air. Your fuel economy should be much better as well. I would have just used a bucket with plastic bags and a lid with gasket to contain smell. If people pick up dog poop in plastic and toss it, why not dump in a plastic bag and dump it the same way in the trash? Simplicity is BLISS ;-) Love the JAX meow siren! That was cute!!!! The pin stripe reminds me of the A-Team back in the day. I liked that show.

Fwiw I would not go red for the wheels. They scream for flat black and will draw less attention. I'd pull the silver plastic trim that traces the fenders and down the side. Pep Boys/Autozone door trim? Maybe it's making a comeback from the 80's? We've found Teflon dry wax lubricant by Dupont to last a very long time for the doors. Nice intro and looking forward to new vids

Cool videos! Great that you are experiencing the country like that! I was homeless back in 2013 for a few months. Had to sleep in a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top living at 7000 feet in February with my 75 lb dog. It would drop into the low 20s and even got snow. MISERABLE! Wish I had your van then! Quick comment regarding Jax: He is a sweet cat. Be careful leaving him alone. Not only the heat but there are bad people out there who get off on hurting animals. I used to spend time at a Wendy's in Flagstaff using the internet and getting lunch when I was roughing it. I made sure to park with my Jeep/dog in view, which was fortunate because I caught a guy (a middle eastern exchange student or something) throwing a paper at my dog and then taunting her. I confronted the jackass and told him what I thought of him and like the typical animal abusing coward, he chicken shitted out and split. It took self restraint not to beat him into the pavement. If he would have hurt my dog I'd have knocked his teeth down his throat. Anyway, just be careful with Jax. There are people who just get off on hurting animals. Be safe and enjoy!
