@@BruceLeroyUK Absolutely… 13 inch glossy, though🙂. Almost everything in life is like this: experience it yourself and you will make the best decision (for yourself). I completely understand that you preferred the NT; in my case it was a no-go. The bezels were annoyingly glossy, the intensity of the screen was uncomfortable (PWM?), and the difference in image quality was too much! I can also confirm the obvious: all extraordinary devices, every single person will have its own predilection or necessities. One is willing to sacrifice something that is a deal breaker for the next. Your video is so good that many will coincide with you, yet even the best video is no substitution to experience. Really funny how this device (nano-texture) was perfect in concept and even in video and how it resulted in the opposite for me😄. The same happened with size: I was using 11” but this 13” is thinner and lighter enough for me to select it. All you pointed in the video stands, and although I ultimately chose the glossy, it was very helpful when trying to decide. I am sure you are happy with your device too! Thanks for the video and your excellent job, it is refreshing.

I bought the 13" Pro nanotexturized because I use it mostly for digital art and painting, and returned it on the 2nd day, for the one with the "normal" glossy screen. The nano screen lacks in contrast compared with the regular iPad (glossy), and the worst part is paying so much, and have the horrible corners and edges feeling as you bought a 2000's screen device whit these chromatic aberrations. Plus, the nanotexturized screen it wasn't what I expected for art purposes. Best combo is buying the regular iPad pro and invest on a paper-feel screen protector, which you have thousands at very affordable prices and quality (I bought mines on Ali without having to spend on brands that worth the same)

I have the same thought. There's no reason to get the nanotexture glass if I can just get the regular and put on a paperlike. I went with the standard glass, to save money, but also because I am one of those people that likes to take my iPad everywhere and just have peace of mind with a tempered glass screen protector. I’d rather a $15 screen protector take the damage and get replaced than a costly screen repair. You are supposed to only use the cloth from apple to clean the nano texture display. Their nano texture monitor had the same instruction because microfibre would leave scratches and eventually remove the nano texture. They probably improved it a lot but considering that you still need to use the apple cloth makes it obvious that it is still more prone to damage than the regular variant. I've always used screen protectors on my ipads, so the nano texture would be wasted since all the paperlike protectors I know are also matte.

The reflections on the standard glass look much more disturbing on video than they do in the real world, because the eye is focused on the screen display, while reflections appear "behind" it, and thus are not so much in focus and less disturbing. This effect can't be replicated on a KZbin video, here the reflections fully mix with content. Personally, I got the standard model, since I'm mostly working inside and have control over room lighting, and I like the billiance of the standard display. I've had screen protectors on every phone and tablet up until the past gen. At worst, they really do diminish the image quality and increase glare. At best, they still add a whole mm or so of thickness, which can interfere with some of the magnets on some folio cases. I traded both my 2021 12.9" and my iphone 14 PM in with pristine displays. Keep them in a case. For the tablets, keep them in some kind of folio case when not in use. Unless you drop your stuff a bunch (I personally don't), then I don't see why you'd need them. These displays don't scratch outside of coming into contact with specific objects with a defined hardness level. Jerry Riggs does good videos demonstrating this.

would a screen protector reduce sharpness of the OLED display as the nano texture does?

What about video editing color grading is it worth it

Video on nano-texture screen is more cinematic. Go compare at Apple store side by side play a trailer. You know how it is…black mist filters and fog machines to soften the image and cut out that digital etch right? Real life is not as sharp as iPhone photos, and there is no such thing as “inky blackness” which requires there to be zero light. All black objects are visible by some measure of light…unless you live in solitary, a box with zero light source.

Thanks - a great video and just what I was looking for. One concern I have is that I think you have to use the special cloth with the nano texture otherwise you can ruin the screen and I will almost certainly forget to take it with me when I’m out and about…

I'd say that Samsung made the right call with the Ultra, with a texture in between these two, getting most of the pros while downsizing the cons.
