For this song, you really need to see the lyrics, bcs it’s a healing song, and a deep + multi-interpretive one. Heck, IU even need the help of her lyricist mentor, Kim Eana to complete the lyrics. Kim Eana is the lyricist of early IU’s hits (Nagging, Good Day, You and I, Red Shoes, Every End of The Day). The chorus: Through the night that was endlessly long and thick and dark I know your wish has silently disappeared I’ll wait for a long time, I will definitely find you Even if you’re so far that I can’t see you Let’s go, to the place at the tip of dawn You can interpret this as “YOU” song or “ME” song, As YOU song, this song is abt IU who remind us that people around us have wish, have dream, and we need to be “I” in the song to help them to reach that dream. As ME song, this song is abt US, talking to our inner child The child who stands in front of me without fail Head hanging low but never crying When I sadly hold out my hand, the child runs away So I hold onto the empty air by myself This child, is us in our childhood, or maybe us in our weakest state. Its up to us, up to ourselves to embrace that “inner child” and save him/ her , then accompany him/ her to our dream :’) In short, this is a rare k-music hymn which the melody - singer - meaning/ lyrics can live up to each other :’) this wholesome feeling in music is sooooo difficult to achieve in this era, honestly

I agree with your notion that IU's voice takes you somewhere. IU also has this song called Bad Day, where the song will really make you feel somewhat awful and chaotic...not recommended to listen to when you are in a messy state of mind lol. But it is an amazing song, a B-side but amazing.
