Never thought I would be into Jackson basses, but I played one of these at a guitar store just out of curiosity and was blown away. Ordered one and can't wait to get it

Same here. I’ve tried one out at a guitar center as well a few years ago and I was impressed with the sound quality. I’ve been thinking about buying one. Especially since I’m interested in adding something different for my arsenal

Played this bass at a store yesterday-prior to that, Jackson was not on my radar at all... Granted, those are your fingers and not mine making it sound so good, but you may have just been the deciding factor about buying this bass. Thank you!

I just ordered the Spectra SBP IV in the Carribean Burst finish, and after watching this I'm excited as all get out! Great demo! Update: Mine came in and I'm hooked! One of the best all-around basses I've ever played or owned. Installed a Hipshot D-Tuner on it to give me a little more range. I'm letting it settle in and then gonna set it up and make it perfect....

I believe after a couple hours of playing and knocking the extra twang off the new strings, the true voice of the bass will speak. Good demo!

@@vyshawnforeman8384 yeah I'm gonna have to agree with you, it's really annoying at times, I love players like Flea who get that snappy upper end sound from their playing, but I prefer that lower end sound that's muddy and thunderous, I guess, so the new strings don't sound great a lot of the time. New strings also feel kinda stiff to me

I love my Jackson bass. I got a 5 String Jackson bass with Duncan pick ups. I think it was a concert series. I bough like a decade ago but still play it and love that bass to this day. The bass in this video is awesome too and so cool looking.

@@revel9243 Didn't get it yet, i was comparing it to other popular bass guitars and keep coming back to this Jackon bass. I play jazz, metal, rock, blues, slap, I'm sure it can handle al genres of music like my old Alien Burst 5 did, amazing but this one has the high end Norstrand pick ups, a big game changer for the price! WHy bother with Musicman, Fender Jazz, P-Bass when you can get all that sound from a Jackson and more.

Thanks for the demo. I bought the bass. Excellent sound. You're right in passive mode there's no toner Control. Just adjust from the amp. Passive sounds better to me. It's not a heavy instrument and has a really good sounding B string. The pickup blend is reversed. Turning it towards the neck selects the bridge pickup and vice versa. It's great if you want a pro level instrument without breaking the bank. Keep up the good work 🎸🎸🎸

I have the cherry version of this bass. I agree with Hamish below. It looks very much like my Ibanez SR2405w but it sounds so much better and there is no comparison in the build quality. It also costs about 1/3 less than the Ibanez. This bass is a really legit bass. I actually like it as well or even better than my EB Music Man Stingrays. I A/B'd them and I actually liked the Jackson better however, the strings are much older on my Music Man so that would have made a difference.

Hi Bully. I believe this is the first time I've listened to your channel with headphones. I always used my computer, phone, TV speakers. I feel I probably have missed a lot as far as audio. That being said, outside of your signature basses, this Jackson(kind of a different Jackson)sounds as good, or better than any bass I've heard you demo before. I like it's boutique sound. She's pretty and you might have to take her around town, hear how she sits in live mixes or you could keep her for yourself (and maybe lobster). the thumbnail pic caught my eye! Jackson/Fender? mmmm, Interesting.

That's a really beautiful instrument. I'm really diggin the wood combination not to mention the pickups! I always liked Nordstrands. I'm liking those strings too. The hum doesn't bother me since I played a Rick for years and had a noise gate! Anyway I always played Rotosound Swing Bass 66s. A couple of years ago I started playing DRs and found they lasted a little longer. What's your take on those MJCs? I know the Lobster swears by them. Yeah, and that bass does sound good too! Those Nordys really bark. Good stuff Bully!

I really like the tone when the bass EQ is turned up, totally brings it home, so to speak. When I tried this bass at GC, the battery must have been dead so I couldn't try the EQ to get different tones, and left with the meh passive sound impression. I'm gonna go back and have it checked out with working battery.

Jackson basses are one of my favorite in that class of basses. Jackson inlays graphite stiffening bars in the necks of all there basses and guitars which is responsible for part of that powerful tone, just like Ken Smith basses, Kiesel, modulus graphite, which the whole neck is graphite.

I just bought my first own bass, have been a guitar player for 12 years...Still can't get the guitar habits out of my style and have to learn the finger and slap styles.. but! I picked the Yamaha TRBX605 over the Jackson Spectra series because the nut width was somehow smaller than the Jackson's, despite the Yamaha having a string spacing of 18mm...How is this possible when the string spacing is 1mm wider? Both basses sound great but my hands are very small, so I had to pick the smaller build...and it still hurts while playing metal styles... Great videos! Just found your channel!

This instrument is exactly what i don't like about modern basses : focused way too much on the midrange and lacking in the quality of the warm rich bottom that makes a bass a Bass. My Yamaha TRBX 305 is much more of a real bass that can get the midrange if wanted to. Thanks for the full demo sir. can you tell me about the strings you use as i would like to try them.

So i fell in love with this bass although I want the 4 string one in that caribbean blue colour, but I have no store near me that has this bass. I am looking for a second bass atm I have my first ever bass a marcus miller v3 jazz bass and I love it I am just looking into a more modern type of bass/sound to change from time to time. I saw an ibanez with the same pickups I just don't like the finish as much. Is there anyone with some experience with this bass? Or just more experience I play a lot of slap but I also enjoy to play some TOOL so it has to be pretty versatile. Is this a good bass for what I do? Or should I go and try something like a stingray? Oh and before I forget to mention I play in a little band we just jam and cover some songs of all types of genres.
