by the way this song won "song of the year" in 2023 in all award shows, it's the song with most #1 in ALL streaming music platforms in Korea of all k-pop history, it was #1 for 3 months straight on the charts

@@Kevonth3bus 🫡. I will suggest you actually start w/ their 1st EP . Its 4 songs & each song has a MV . There's a storyline that begins there and continues thru Ditto 1&2 and is then all wrapped up in the MV for OMG .

In my opinion, the music video for "Ditto" is much more meaningful than any other NewJeans MV so far because its meaning is something we Bunnies (the fandom's name), or any fan of a celebrity in general, can relate to. It's a real issue in our society, and I think that adds a lot of value to the message behind the video. Before explaining the story, you have to watch both MVs (side A and side B), and I also need to teach you two terms: Ban Heesoo (the girl with the camera) represents us, the fans, and NewJeans is basically a representation of idols. The boy who appears symbolizes reality. Now that you have these concepts clear, I can explain. The story of "Ditto" tells and shows us how fans can fall into the world of the internet and how we use it to disconnect and ignore our problems. Do you remember how in the MV (side A), the boy (reality) would sometimes appear, and Ban Heesoo (us) would ignore him? That’s what it shows because it’s true. Sometimes we use this K-Pop world to escape reality and avoid our problems. We believe that these idols or celebrities, however you want to call them, can save or help us because they are "with" us, but that's not really the case-it's a one-sided relationship. Heesoo felt like she had her place in the group by being the one recording them. She felt included. But in the MV (side B), you see that the girls don’t need Heesoo to do what they do. Why? Because they’re not really there with us-we only see them through a screen (that’s why Heesoo is always recording, just like us watching our idols, constantly recording them, keeping clips of them, etc.). K-pop idols need and love their fans as a collective, as a FANDOM, but they can't know each of us on a deep, personal level-it’s simply impossible and will always be that way. The message it gives is that we need to wake up. Yes, we can love our favorite idols, and that’s okay, but that’s where it should stop. We can’t depend on them, nor can we use them as a way to avoid our real-life problems. Do you see how at the end of the MV (side A), Heesoo wakes up alone? That’s what happens when you don’t wake up and keep believing that idols will always be there for you. This ending showed how Heesoo realized she had been consumed by this and lost her chance to fix her life problems because she didn’t speak to the boy (reality). In contrast, in the MV (side B), Heesoo wakes up in time and sees how the girls continue to be themselves without needing her. This is shown in the train scene, where she sees the girls dancing happily when moments before they were helping her with her arm and were worried about her. That’s when she realizes that NewJeans doesn’t need her, so she throws her camera off the building, getting rid of it, and then walks out with the boy (stepping into reality). Years later, when she’s grown up, she remembers those good moments from her youth and all the times she was happy watching her favorite idols. Im sorry if i was a bit late 😭, i hope this helps you to understand the lore of ditto! btw i loved ur reaction that's the correct way to react to them, now that u r a fan if want u should react to omg mv, it does also have an important message to us fans, if u want i can also explain it too you if do the reaction! 💕

I really appreciate the lore to ditto! I just did a video including Both Side A and Side B and I was still so confused haha. But this really helped! I will surely do a reaction to OMG, but I just have a few other items I have to get to first! I really appreciate it!

Fun Facts: There's a secret 1998 dance version of Ditto on Ban Hee Soo's KZbin Channel. Ban Hee Soo is the girl with the camcorder in the music video. All the videos she recorded on the camcorder can be found in its raw form on her channel. It's all official version and part of the NewJean's lore.

newjeans do deep metaphor and lore videos... i would reccomend redoing this reaction but watching part 1 then part 2 in one go.. it will make A LOT more sense... its essentially about the para-social relationships between fans and idols and both the positive .. but more importantly.. the negative aspects it can bring.. i wont spoil anything but this para-social thing is A BIG part of their lore.. whenever they have a 2 part video be aware its going to be a deep story and lore video.. the videos to be aware of this are (obviously this song) but also supernatural part 1 and 2... also 'ETA'... also 'Cool with you' has 2 parts but doesnt rally focus on this para-social lore tht much but is still a deep story drenched in greek mythology... apart from that their other videos just watch as you like lol..
