They are claiming mistreatment and also they want their ceo to come back after she was forced out of her position after a looong fight back and forth between the companies and her. Their fans are worried about them being disbanded bc of it or just locked in Hybes basement but I can't imagine it happening with them being so popular and well known even internationally. Just hope the girls are ok.

Min Hee Jin found out that HYBE's been sabotaging and using chart manipulation to downplay NewJeans' achievements, along with planning to bench NewJeans for their new group; ILLIT. aside from sabotaging NewJeans, they've leaked personal documents of the NewJeans members and purposely spread misinformation about NewJeans and their CEO, and destroyed/stole some of their brand relations. and most of all, HYBE's been plagiarizing NewJeans' and Min Hee Jin's EVERYTHING, their sound, concept and aesthetics and giving it to ILLIT. the members had just sent HYBE an ultimatum a few days ago, demanding the reinstatement of their former staff and CEO, otherwise all members will terminate their exclusive contracts. additional info: HYBE infiltrated and replaced and overthrowed ADOR's staff and CEO, Min Hee Jin. this left the members feeling trapped and scared that they had to do an emergency live to expose HYBE and renegotiate their original CEO's return.

​@@Melayshaaa Basically a conflict between their manager/CEO (Min Hee-Jin, or MHJ, who's played a massive role in the formation of the group, their creative direction, and basically makes all of the decisions) and their parent label, Hybe. Hybe became a big label off the success of BTS. NewJeans is under Ador, which is a sub-label of Hybe. MHJ was CEO of Ador. Hybe alleged MHJ was planning a hostile takeover of Ador, basically trying to remove them from Hybe. They ousted her as CEO and put someone on their side in charge, as Hybe still held a majority stake in Ador. But MHJ alleged Hybe was putting roadblocks in front of NewJeans from the get-go, and favoring other groups. One of these is a new group named Illit, who debuted in March 2024. MHJ says Illit has copied elements from NewJeans and is trying to replicate their success, and that Hybe is on Illit's side in this. Most people agree they have similar concepts, and there are certain instances that do seem like copying. Overall it just seems weird to debut another girl group with such a similar concept less than 2 years after NewJeans debut. But what makes the situation so complicated is that all of the NewJeans members are on MHJ's side. In September, they did an impromptu livestream where they made requests that MHJ be reinstated as CEO and spoke about how they don't believe Hybe has their best interests. Hybe didn't budge, but now they've sent Hybe a letter telling them to reinstate MHJ or they'll proceed with contract termination. Because of how successful they are, a contract termination will likely cost a lot of money... some think more they'd be able to pay back any other label/investor that funds them. There is no conflict between the members or basically anyone who works directly with them (except the new CEO that's on Hybe's side). It is extremely likely that whatever happens, the members will stand united and all make the same decision.

newjeans 'vibe' is a lot more linked than most people realise.. and very different to most of kpop... its 90s urban throwback focusing on UK and US RnB and its clubland and dance derivatives... supernatural is more new edition or early janet jackon than it is michael as its 'new jack swing' and reminds me a lot of bobby browns 'every little step'... how sweet is 'miami bass' like ghost town dj's 'my boo'.... Omg is their take on 'baltimore club' but a more mellow version and ETA is a somewhat mix of baltimore club, jersey club and UK garage... there videos often tell deep stories that are sometimes disturbing or eery.. if they have 2 parts you must watch both for the whole story... i will explain the videos in more details in following posts so not to be too long :P

The story of OMG: Each idol in the group is assigned a role by the fandom. The youngest is the baby, and the cute one and that is who they will always be. The oldest the is caregiver and the one who keeps everyone safe. But why can't they have a bad day and need to be taken care of? Then one thinks they are in iphone because they are at everyone else command. When not "on", they are on standby. Then what am I now? A dancer, a singer, posing for pictures. Then what.. off. Not needed and waiting. The whole song is about not just being put into these roles but then needing to keep up on the fandom's expectations and how it can drive you crazy. Oh and the fandom decided that one of them is a cat and well, she is kinda stuck with that.

New Jeans is actually ONE OF A KIND group!!! Let me share a little things i know about the OMG music vd since i don't see anyone talking about it^^ It's basically shows how the K-pop industry works. First, Hanni (I phone girl) said things like "I exist for u. I sing and dance for u" that indicates a life of an idol, who are seems as PERFECT human beings from the fans. For Minji(the doctor) found the others who need helps but also found herself in the end. That shows how the idols help their fans with their music and brings them happiness but for the idols, they somehow got sunk by the HIGH standard set by the community and ended up as the one who need help the most. It's actually sad but that's how things are happening rn. You can see all my points in the very last because he's writing a comment like "Just show their face and dance"!! And as Minji stopped him, they loudly said that THEY WILL CHANGE the industry!!! Been loving your reactions too Melysha ❤

Girl the tea with them Ipanema their company is so long that if I told you all about it, it would be like 25 pages long. In short though think if it this way. Newjeans is under a label called ador and ador is owned by this bigger company named Hybe. Hybe alleged that the CEO of ador (min hee Jin) wanted to take newjeans away from them and leave Hybe. Which her intentions are still debatable but she never really take any actions it was all just in her journal and some messages which we don’t even know if are legit. Anyway Hybe decided to make all of this public a few days before newjeans comeback which out the group in a very awkward position since they are closely related to the CEO of ador (even their parents are very close with her and keep in touch frequently). So fans started doubting the girls integrity as well as ador at that same time some rumors abt the CEO came out as well so ppl started to believe hybe but the CEO of ador did a press conference clarifying all of the internal beef they had she denied a lot of their claims and people were basically split on the matter. Later on hybe “illegally” fired the CEO min hee Jin and planted and inexperienced person in charge of newjeans (keep in mind Throughout this whole fight newjeans and their parents are on CEO Min hee Jin side have spoken publicly abt it) this is when all of Hybes dirty acts came out with them leaking the girls medical records, private videos, manipulated media to write bad articles abt newjeans (with audio proof of an executive talking and going golfing to reporters),workplace harassment, firing newjeans music director to later try and recruit them and many more horrible things. Newjeans went live and said they will not take shit from the company and sent them an ultimatum that hype didn’t listen to so they just confirmed today that they will no longer be newjeans but will continue to remain as a group but will be independent now so yeah there are way more things that I didn’t say but the point should come across.

Hi I love your reaction, for your question in why the group is “disbanding”, I can help and explain! The girls and their label has had conflict with their parent company, this has been going on since April, with much information being exposed over Newjeans’ mistreatment. At the moment, the girls have demanded the parent company to take action and fix their problems, including that if they don’t for the next 10 days they will terminate their contracts. We are not fully sure over what they’d do after, but we do know that they want to continue as a group. The guess is that they will leave their current company and move to another as a whole group.

ETA continues the para-social lore between fans and idols newjeans started in 'ditto' and are now well known for.... In ETA the newjeans girls don't physically exist... in short.. main girl 'Eva' is a fan who is crazy and completley paranoid.. newjeans exist in her head and she sees them through her phone and as different people (the cops, gas station workers, people in cars alongside her, passengers in her own car) but they arent really there.. they are imaginary friends to her and shes uses them to fuel her paranoia.. the 'lyrics' of the song are mostly just her own thoughts but she imagines newjeans are telling them to her (boys be always lying and the fast talking parts for example) eventually running over cheating boyfriend and placing him in the boot of her car... (i personally think he is an ex she cannot let go of which would describe her unhinged unstable behaviour) the directors cut video shows the full ending where she pushes the car off the cliff (Apple did not want that ending in the video but directors cut is out now and shows the full ending) Also they wear angel wings in this video and whenever they perform this song suggesting they may even be like the good/bad angels on her shoulders... good side telling her she needs a boy on her arm and bad side trlling her to lose the boy on her arm... she chose bad :P their videos are full of story or lore they often cover eery or disturbing themes if you scratch beneath the pretty surface. If you wish to carry on your newjeans journey i would recomend Ditto which was the start of their lore and follows a similar pattern to ETA but entirely different circumstances and story.. Ditto Side A Ditto Side B OMG (which you already saw.. but just leaving it here so you know its 3rd part to ditto :P)

The politics: HYBE (parent company) has beef with the CEO of ADORE (sub company.) This CEO is who “raised” and refined NewJeans creatively as a group. This is the person who the NJ members have personalized loyalty to. Think of it as Simon to XG. Exact same thing. The members started to notice unfair treatment amongst them by way of collateral damage. They made a KZbin video on an undisclosed channel *now deleted* blasting the parent company HYBE. In other words, they inherited the beef happily so much so that it went to court. The argument you’ll hear most say is newjeans members are groomed that they don’t see that they’re destroying their own career. I’m on the latter, I think they initially stood up for their CEO but now standing up for themselves. They believe if they kept their mouth shut, newjeans would be destroyed anyways coz no one other than their CEO and creative team understands the brand of newjeans. Their former CEO was currently demoted to creative director but the beef still remains. Hence, they haven’t put out a song in 6 months by the “orders” of HYBE. But NewJeans momentum of public support prevents them from being cased and permanently shelved. But they are in between a rock and a hard place because HYBE is trying to freeze their careers till their contract ends. If NJ decides to just get out of it on their own terms they would have to cough up millions.

OMG is the opposite of 'Ditto' and is about how fans can negatively impact idols. Its about how heavy pressure from fans (particulary hardcore toxic stans and haters) can make idols eventually lose touch of their once happy real true selves and eventually feel like just becoming slaves to their fans (and the industry). In this newjeans end up in psyche ward because this has happened to them.. they now believe they are literally what the fans picture them as. Hanni in the intro is the most obvious one.... her believing she is an iphone means she is there instantly for the fans.. at the touch of a button shes there for you, singing, dancing performing for you.. she exists only for you and nothing else. Dani is now solely consumed in being an idol to the point of madness... you see her laugh maniacally at white noise on the tv beleiving shes watching something on there (mirroring Ban HeeSoo waching white noise in Ditto) Hyein is seen as a fairytale princess. But the toxic fans (represented by the Bear) kill her prince charming (and in essensce her happiness) as they want her solely for themselves. Haerin is constantly told by the fans (and even her group members) that she looks and acts like a cat... so now she believes she is one... Minji is seen as the mum of the group so she beleives she is a doctor so even in her psychosis she can still look after 'her girls' The very end of the video after the credits shows minji shutting down a toxic fan... its a message for them to stop hating and be nice or eventually you will drive these young idols mad. This is the para-social lore of the group they started in 'ditto' and i highly reccomend you react to that (side a and b for complete story).. its widely regrded amongst fans as their best video:P

Since it's ditto season, I recommend their song ditto.🤭 Also, about their disbandment. The situation is a bit hard to understand if it's in the comments, some people may tell you false information so I recommend watching youtube videos about it. But I can tell some of what I know about it. (These are what I remember from april this year to now.. I think) -Hybe is accused of abusing the k-pop algorithm by making their newest "illit" to be like newjeans (people said illit straight up plagiarized newjeans). I think it was a newjeans member's parent whom reported this to their ceo (Mhj- Min heejin). The plagiarism accusations started because illit's debut song was way too similar in beats and rhythm as newjeans songs, people also pointed out that the choreos in illit "copied" newjeans (Which is stupid ngl, I'm scared of my own fan base lol) -Newjeans' CEO (Mhj) is accused of trying to break ador (The company that newjeans are under, also a part of hybe) from the company hybe. -Mhj gets fired after hybe found about it. -Newjeans members parents gets mad about mhj's replacement (I heard ab this idk if its true) -Mhj made a press conference about the whole situation. She said something about hybe being sh*t and all that. -there were leaks of mhj talking sh"t about the newjeans members (People are saying that it's not true and it was made up by hybe..Idk at this point on who to trust) -Couple months later, Supernatural is released. (This is basically where all the crap happens) -Newjeans makes an emergency live on a secret account. They were speaking about their concerns, preblems about the new management and the new ceo. Apparently the new ceo keeps telling them that she wants the best for them and she will protect them but she keeps on brushing off newjeans' problems. -Hanni mentioned in the live that she was ignored by the people in hybe. She said that she would always bow to people but would always get ignored by them. She also said that a group walked past them and she greeted them kindly, but their manager told the group to ignore her..(People are saying that it's illit who ignored hanni). (If you don't know hanni, its the iphone girl) -Hanni went to a court, something (Idk what its called but its apparently a very important law proceeding place for koreans, knets were a bit shocked when hanni was attending since she isn't even korean and her speaking skills aren't very good.) The reason she's there, I'm not very sure about it but I think it's mostly company neglecting her or something. THATS ALL I KNOW EHEHNAHA

These girls could have been my ultimate girl group if XG didn't come out with Shooting Star and Left Right a few months after NewJeans debuted. The two are probably comparable for me in terms of how they release just good songs that dont need to follow the usual kpop song formula, and the way they perform in singing and dancing are just so so good. NewJeans doesnt have a rapper and they don't need one anyways. XG and NewJeans have their own distinct style of dancing, but they are both excellent when performing individually and as a unit. NewJeans has more of an old school hip hop foundation while XG has more new school grooves and they just gel so well together and perform with the right vibe and energy depending on the song. Both just have really really good chemistry. Lowkey hoping NewJeans would get adopted by XGALX should things really go sideways with ADOR and HYBE. I can just imagine the type of concepts they may be able to get and pull off with the team behind XG. The music videos, the production, alphaz know they would be dope
