A lot of people were unsure whether New Jeans would fit the usual Riot games Worlds genre of music. But their vocals were incredible and we will see them perform this song live at the World's finals. That being said, this is a typical Riot music worlds styled song and they produced this song in almost all it's entirety, so it is highly unlikely New Jeans will go in this direction of music in the future.

Just to give further context on the video here because this is really legit anime plot that rarely happens. The story follows the proplayer Deft and his journey into winning the Worlds in 2022. Deft and Faker (prior to becoming proplayers) were schoolmates. And while Deft was the best on his class and pretty good at the game, Faker (formerly known as Gojeonpa) was like rank 1/2 in the server. And Faker then continued to achieve victory (he won worlds in 2013 when he debuted) while Deft ‘grinded’ back. Deft got his first chance to compete in 2014 (3:22). Their enemy was their sister team (SSW) and they were a favorite as they were able to beat this team in the region. But surprisingly they got 3-0 in the semi finals, and SSW won the whole thing. @ 3:39, Deft moved into EDG at China and is teammates with Meiko. They were hailed as an amazing duo lane. Won an international title that year (against Faker) and was even a favorite coming to worlds. But he then got defeated by the team of his close friend (Rekkles) and exited in quarters. @4:04 was a barrage of attacks as this was multiple attempts to win, but exited in the quarterfinals. There were even 2 years where he wasn't able to qualify for the world cup. @4:11 he got another chance again in DRX in 2020. Here he is teammates with Doran and Keria (a close friend of him who also promised to win worlds together with him). That year looked promising for them at the start but in the middle of summer season, Deft got a back injury and all went downhill from there. They still qualified for worlds. but exited in quarters once again to the eventual winners of that year (DWG). That scene where he cried falling down was based on real events (can be looked up) and 2020 looked like to be the most painful defeat, and that roster disbanded afterwards @4:56 he got another chance in 2022. They started from the bottom because they are the 4th seed and nobody expected them to even get far. But this team defied all the expectations. Deft's story went full circle because in order to win, he had to face all of his previous teammates (in a way, it was coming face-to-face with so many of his own failures) He faced Meiko in quarterfinals, faced Doran in Semifinals. And lastly had to face his close friend Keria and Faker in the Finals with his team always being underdogs. He won that year and gave a good inspiration now to upcoming 2023 worlds that nothing is impossible.

The guy in Red, Faker, is known as the unkillable demon. He's like the antagonist of every story because of how great he is. You'd think they'd make him their protagonist but he's become the goal for aspiring players. The story for this tournament is so heartbreaking because the shield guy, Keria, was Deft's support that changed to Faker's team and became the support there... which had to play against his first team in the finals of the World 2022. It's like an anime story because Deft and Faker came from the same high school. Faker was already a pro-gramer, while Deft, the blue one, is only starting. They centered the finals on their narratives.

Even the LPL worlds titles they won for 2/3 worlds titles, 2 out of the 5 players are Korean. 2021 EDG : Viper, Scout are Korean, Scout was named MVP of the finals. 2018 Invictus Gaming : TheShy, Rookie are Korean. LPL has only ever won one title with an all chinese team and that was with FPX in 2019 with finals against an LCS team G2. Cope harder.

I just found out that Alex Seaver was one of the writers, thanks for mentioning it. He is one of the writers for previous LOL Worlds songs like Rise, and Arcane OST, What Could Have Been, which was sang by STING!!! I was distracted by the animation, I couldn't focus on just 1 and the visual story got me invested, then the song is another journey. I can't wait for the Riot K-pop MALE group.

The story behind this worlds anthem is actually Deft (Main Character) and DRX’s whole run during Worlds 2022. DRX was the underdogs during that time and they played all games from wildcard, play-ins and eventually they got to the grand finals and won it all.

I'm so down for a riot games music and league of legends music & cinematics rabbit hole yo!!!!! Idk if y'all have seen the netflix show Arcane, if you haven't, it's really good and created by Riot Games. The guys who write these yearly anthems are great at making them epic, like an anthem should be. They have been released yearly since 2014, and the first one was made by Imagine Dragons. Three of their band members play league and they love riot so they've worked with them many times. They also did the intro song for Arcane.

Sorry for a long rant but for context The MV is the story of Deft the MC in this video, he went to the same school as Faker (the GOAT of LoL) in 2022 it was considered Deft last dance and opportunity to win Worlds as he was considering retiring after 2022. In 2013 They both debuted in the same year, Deft was good but he was struggling (like it was shown when he was struggling killing the blue buffs) while Faker went to win his 1st Worlds championship the same year of his debut (killing baron singlehandedly/it was a reference when he stole Baron with Zed) Fast forward to 2014 Deft with team Samsung Blue went to world championship while Faker doesn't even qualify for worlds he lost to their sister team Samsung White when Samsung Blue was considered as the stronger team like in the MV Pawn (Jayce) crushing Deft (Lucian) 2015 the Korean player Exodus happen and Deft was one of the players who left South Korea and went to Chinese Team EDG, Deft with his Support Meiko (played thresh in the mv) went to Worlds once again but this time he lost to Fnatic in quarterfinals and Rekkles iconic Kennen ADC Fast forward to 2020 in DRX he went to Worlds once again, he was accompanied by Doran (Jax) and Keria (Braum) where they got destroyed by Damwon 3-0 as shown by Canyon (Graves) and Showmaker (Syndra) Fast Forwards 2022, Deft and DRX qualified for Worlds once again as Korea last seed to the tournament (it needs to be addressed that historically Korean last seed never had a chance to advanced far in the tournament) They managed to get into playoffs from play-in stage and group stage as shown in the MV when Deft and his teammates rise on the platform to the main stage in Playoffs Then in Quarterfinals Deft went to play against EDG and his former teammates and support Meiko in a grueling 5 match series, they were losing 0-1 and in match number 2 Deft had a chance to end the match by destroying the enemy nexus and equalize the series to 1-1 but an inhibitors respawned thus making the nexus unhittable, it was 1 hit away (literally 1 hp away from being destroyed) the difference from Deft destroying the nexus and the inhibitors respawning was literally 0.01 sec and they lose the 2nd match making it 0-2 but they worked hard and win with a reverse sweep 3-2 In semifinals Deft once again met with his former teammates Doran but Deft managed to win the series 3-1 The Grand Finals was one of the most epic storline ever, DRX VS T1, not only that Deft is playing against Faker the undeniably greatest player in league of legends and a 3 times world champion (2013,2015,2016) who comes from the same school and debuted at the same year as Deft, but he also playing against Keria, the one in the MV who shields Deft as braum against Damwon Showmaker Syndra in 2020, once again his former teammates and Support In 2020 when Keria was still playing as Deft Support he told Deft many times and promised Deft that he would be the one that stay by his side and he would give him a Worlds trophy but after losing in 2020 Keria got an offer from T1, Keria was going to reject the offer but after Deft told Keria that he's still young and he's very talented and that he should accept the offer from T1, after much convincing from Deft Keria took the offer And now in the finals Deft is playing against both Faker and Keria like shown in the MV, when Deft climb the mountain in the final climb he's facing against Keria and in that face off it was pure chills as it was as if Keria was saying "sorry that it had to be this way, i know that i promise you the worlds trophy but i need to win, please understand"
