This is amazing to see… I was the film editor that edited New Jersey Drive on 35mm film back in 1993 in the BRILL bldg near Time Sq. And this is a transfer of some scenes that didn’t make it into the film… You can even see the splices. Had a great time editing this film with director Nick Gomez. Great cast too.
@Furmurfin2 жыл бұрын
And the reason these bits were cut out was because we didn’t need these moments to tell the story.. they slowed the film down. Editing rule: “you have to sacrifice the good for the great” aka “Line up your babies and shoot em in the head”

Jason’s mom bf needed to mind his own damn business, I hate guys like that, acting like it was his house. Least Jason turned his life around after going to jail, Midget’s brother needed to go back to jail, I hated how his mom broke down, it always breaks my ❤️when a mother who does so much and she feels she hasnt, breaks down

A few of the scenes shouldve remained; it wouldve provided more context to certain situations in the finished product,a lot more substance to the relationship between Jason & the girl. But the deleted scenes with the Mom, most of dem made her appear weak & helpless; as opposed to the movie we saw, which made her look more focused & courageous. 1 of my favorite movies of all time & now i wish they did include some of these scenes because now i cant even watch no more lol

I think she was that girl he was taking to at that joint was in above the rim who was on the side line with Tupac and she didn’t had not 1 speaking role. I wonder what her name is

@@jerramaurice7836 No, thats a different woman. Im talkin about the chocolate sister with short hair; the woman he spoke with while locked up & was with his crew through the released version.

*Might be my favorite Hood movie and NO I'm not just saying it, just to say it. Jason Petty's mom and Roscoe kept finding ways to punk Jason and well I couldn't stop laughing. Saw this about 100x's* I ain't laughin' at ya moms man...........uhhhhh SHE NEED TO GET THAT OIL CHECKED :)

@@h2junkey - Yeah he said, TOO many iconic lines. You know what hurts my heart. My best friend since grade school passed away 4 years ago. I used to love watching this movie with him. Now it's really really hard to laugh at this movie, by myself. Kinda like trying to clap when you only got 1 hand to clap with (sigh) "You called backup on us, huh B1+qh" ????????

They should've kept majority of the scenes in, when I watched it younger? I always felt lost on some parts just as if something was missing and now I see, a straight hood classic 💚.

@@Chinagalaxina naw cuz in those cut scened they were talking direct in most the movie u had to really pay attention to see what they were talking about

@@gregphillips3806 - I get what you're saying completely! But I just felt from my perspective that it would've been nice to see in the movie as well, not every deleted scene but majority of them.

I witness this real movie took place in Brick city about young black brothers. Who grew up in the hood roll together in an real gang chase after stolen cars? And then sell cars their joyride to collect money show off to young black sisters. That currently go after real popular street thugs out their hustle earn cash. Real talk, I like Clorrie warned Jason about her Ex Mitchel nothing but real trouble. He just remind me of Bishop from the movie Juice don't give an fuck. Smh their most cats need to be careful on who their fuck with surely ain't their man.
