Awesome stuff what lake was it. Im a local guy. just started fishing fresh water. Always been salt water i was out a few times with Dan Schafer. I found you through him on youtube. Only to find out that you were the man who changed pro fishing to the status it is today. by the way any tips for Darby creek??

It looks like he grabbed the line to lift up and drag the fish into the net. Vegas suggests its OK because the fish appeared well-hooked. But it isn't just about the hook (which can itself appear to be better pinned than it is), thats how you snap the line by putting all the fish's weight and extra force from head thrashing directly into the line and knot. You need to rely on the rod tip to soften those stresses. Even when boat-flipping a bass you'll never see a pro grab the line, they'll always manipulate the rod itself and if the fish needs to be moved or lifted, you have to grab the fish itself. I really appreciated Ike's no-nonsense parenting!
