I still don’t understand how she got off with just probation. Kyle tried to do a bargain that he would tell us where Erica was to let his mother go. LE had already found where he hid her so it was too late. His mother is a disgusting pig and she showed her true colors while we searched for Erica. When someone doesn’t help look for a lost relative red flag. She was an enabler too. She would give him $ for drugs constantly. That’s what the whole argument was about when he took her life! Drugs and $.

@Belltown Daisy she definitely was poison. She disliked Erica because Erica tried so hard to help him grow the hell up. I am so glad they don’t live in our area because I would lose my mind running into her. My mom is so forgiving and has tried so hard to teach me how to forgive. It’s just too hard to forgive these people. That’s why Kyle put that in his letter during his sentencing because he knew how good of a family we were to him. He killed his wife because she wouldn’t give him their last for drugs. A monster!

Be just as bland as water. 🤣 This is sad that ppl think they can take their partners life for whatever selfish reason. These kids lost their mother at the hands of 1 of their fathers. Hopefully the kids are with her parents. Him out here banging a newly met stranger giving his wife’s clothes away?!?!? Not the actions of a concerned husband. Not to mention the whole running from the cops thing. His mom needs to be right there with her devil son. My lord how evil some ppl are. So sad this lovely woman lost her life at the hands of her lunatic husband. It’s sick how long he allowed his wife to lay out in the elements and he said nothing. This is horrible.

So very true! I was raised in an abusive household. I went from that straight into an abusive relationship of 22 years. Not physically abusive like my childhood but mentally and emotionally. I couldn't tell you which is worst. They all hurt deeply in their own way. I had just recently realized that it is an abusive relationship. Growing up I never knew any difference. I knew he didn't physically hit me and that I was thankful for. I would overlook the name calling, the gaslighting, ect. One day I was laying on the couch after having surgery. My feet were cramping so badly I was in tears. I couldn't reach them due to the surgery. He came to me and harshly asked why I was crying. I explained my feet were cramping and I couldn't reach them. He grabbed me foot and forcefully started massaging them. I was no longer crying because the pain was easing. Then he abruptly twisted my foot. I gasped for breath because I didn't want to scream since we were at his mothers home. I instantly started crying again and he went on to tell me what a baby I was and to shut up. After that I began to notice that when something was hurtful to me (physically or mentally) he would tell me what a baby I am or how soft I am. It takes a lot for me to cry. I actually learned how to cry silently when I was little. Just the belittling. I am so uncomfortable crying in my own home now. If something hurts or bothers me I wait to cry until I am alone in the shower or something.

To be honest, I don't believe they stay for the kids 100%. I don't believe when men say this either when their women is bad and they "stay in the marriage for the kids." They stay because they are emotionally attached to the person. Many times it's the idea of what the person should be and they are holding out for that despite no indication that they will change. That mixed with fear, mixed with trauma etc. They still love the person sometimes, the person is just a wicked person. They allow the love they have for this person in their own heart to cause them to endure torture pretty much. Also a lot of these people have other issues such as low self esteem or perhaps even mental illnesses and people like the man in this video prey on those types. I've seen this first hand and heard of it on multiple occasions and each time the person dealing with a man like this had other issues; they were not just a normal everyday woman with self confidence who is very close to their family who perhaps dated but didn't have any past trauma. This is why parents, both of them need to be involved in their kids life and teach them strict rules of dating and usher them into young adulthood based on a solid standard of behavior and not say "oh they 18, long as they aren't doing anything too crazy they're fine".

I once dated a really good guy who was an addict. He was the love of my life, but I knew that in life I loved me more, and that dating him would bring me down. I made the hardest decision, but I left him. Two years later, I found out he committed suicide. Apart my heart aches wishing I knew what drove him to do it, and relief knowing that I didn’t have to live my life knowing I was there and there was nothing I can do. His actions are beyond appalling. And esp when Erica did love and help him so much at a time. He just caused pain all around and I'm truly sorry for that. 😭😢 I'm glad you found her, got some answers,... even though they were not ones you wanted nor was the outcome either. But trust me, the unknowing and constant wondering when someone is missing & just stays that way year after year, it is way way worse. And I'm so beyond glad this side of the family got to adopt her daughter. Not his awful side or mother for that matter. She should be ashamed....& Locked up too! But her daughter is beyond beautiful, just like Erica, and so happy the Spencer family has her. Hearing that, and the part about the locket necklaces just made me tear up. You are all wonderful. Erica is smiling down from heaven. ❤️💗❤️

The thing is, domestic violence doesn't usually starts with a hit/punch. It starts by the abuser testing your boundaries. They might yell, call you names, make a degrading/disrespectful remark, etc. It starts with emotional abuse and at the 1st red flag you should address it and make it clear you aren't putting up with that or leave without saying a word. Many people say "but you don't know how difficult it is to leave". Yes, it is difficult to leave because you already allowed the 1st red flag to go unaddressed and you allowed abuse to escalate to the point there's manipulation. That's why you can't leave now. I'm not talking about that level of abuse, I'm talking about you not allowing abuse to take place. Many say I'm victim blaming but we as adults are conscious enough to distinguish abuse when it's the 1st time. Not doing something about it is our fault as a relationship is of 2. Not only of the person who abuses you.

@Zoe 1221 I'm with you do not yell at me. People are capable of controlling themselves when they choose to, so that makes me a choice. Control yourself. Because although I'm a Christian and nice, it doesn't make me a pushover. Please don't push because it can get nasty, and no one wants nastiness in a relationship. So everyone needs to be nice and all will be well. If I'm dealing with anything less, then I'm leaving or you're leaving, somebody is terminating this relationship.

Imagine having to face your abuser PER COURT ORDER every week to exchange kid(s). And there is no supervision. I just carry a weapon now. And this is after almost 10 police reports, photo and audio evidence, past restraining order and his short prison sentence. This system does not protect victims. By the way, I am also not allowed to move away. All I can do is keep as much distance as possible and wait for him to screw up again in a situation that doesn't involve me or my child.

abuse isn't always physical. verbal/emotional abuse tends to escalate into physical abuse and sadly, in some cases, like this one, by the time it gets physical it's too late for the abused person to leave. we need to raise more awareness/provide resources so people who are in abused relationships can have the assurance that they can leave. i wish her family especially her daughters the best.

@@brownin329 I still don't think the education/awareness has been that effective though...there are way too many people in this comment section who are saying "I will NEVER get in a relationship like this" or "why didn't she just get out" when it's not that simple. That's why I said we also need more resources (therapy/counseling, better handling of these cases from the judicial system, etc) so people know their worth and can leave these relationships with assurance of protection.

Many times when a person stays in a abusive relationship it has alot to do with love for the abuser and not wanting the relationship to fail . So little by little you get used to wearing a mask of happiness around those you love . Sadly too many times people die because of this . He wasnt sorry nor remorseful he feels sorrow for himself . 2 little girls now apart have to grow up knowing that their mother died at the hands of the man who swore he loved her. Rest in peace to this beautiful soul now in heaven with her child she lost during pregnancy. I can always ask myself why I stayed but what really matters is I got away from my abuser .
