Since I was doing quite a bit of fanning within a 20+ minute span earlier, I decided why not do some more and finish the job before taking Train #59 back to Port Jervis and calling it a day? This time spent at Hoboken Terminal was during my 2-day trip within Port Jervis (I ended up staying at the Erie Hotel, about 1/2 mile away from the station) and New York City.
Similar to the day before with another set, the trainset slated to run on Train #61 today arrived with a NJT locomotive this morning on Train #44 (PL42AC #4013) and was swapped out for GP40FH-2 #4901. For the most part, NJT does its best to ensure that Metro-North equipment operates to/from Port Jervis.
This was also my very first time seeing the ALP-45DP #4503, the Atlas 100th Anniversary Heritage Unit, since the locomotive was wrapped 9 months before I recorded this video!
If y'all need to identify the trains properly (equipment and train numbers), feel free to refer to the captions I have included in the video. Definitely enjoyed the fact that I managed to catch 3 heritage units throughout my time in Hoboken Terminal (#4210, #4503, and #4101). If any of y'all desire to catch good diesel action with some electric trains in the form of Arrow IIIs, Hoboken Terminal is the place for you.
While I enjoy diesel trains, I also wanted to capture as many Arrow III trainsets as possible since they will be retired at some point next year when the Alstom Multilevel III trainsets will make their debut. Similar to the Arrow IIIs, they are self-propelled and can only operate under electric power.
Overall, I am glad I decided to spend some time here before taking Train #59 back to Port Jervis and I was able to experience a PM Rush Hour here, even if it was for a few hours, since I was able to experience a nice blend of equipment, electric and diesel. With that being said, I will leave it at that and let you guys enjoy the video. If you guys enjoyed the video, please feel free to drop a like, comment, subscribe, share the video with everyone you know and I will see you all on the next one! :D
