I have not only switched jobs but also countries, so the job, the workplace, the culture, the community, regulations, people everything is completely different, I feel like an imposter who is not good enough for the job I worked really hard to get, thanks for the video, my anxiety feels validated.

@@erinMfoley thank you! It was all fine, I got through it. Oh wow. On point. Just like another writer. On my first week, it is a new field and terminology. I have really debilitating anxiety right now. Physical anxiety is so unpleasant. Your right we have other history where we became good at our job.

Part of the problem is all the job adverts and interviews these days - in Australia anyway - expect that you will be a fast learner. It’s ridiculous because it’s causing so many to have mental health issues over such unrealistic employer expectations.

This is interesting you’ve helped me to realize I’ve been in a parade of jobs that I didn’t feel confident in due to settling for quick money. To be honest most of my adult life I don’t feel I had authentic confidence in almost any job. So I can understand what that’s done to my psych and my personal life as a result. I wasn’t taught how to develop my skills in any one thing or have the stability to do so. I actually empathize with myself more.

Erin, you have great content I have been listening to you for months now, I recently got a new job last year in June and your content has been really helpful. I am so blessed to have come to know you. I will definitely book an appointment with you, the person whom I took over from was in the role for over 33 years and their institutional knowledge is highly respected. I have been feeling that i need to leave this job but listening to you has been a blessing to me. The brain explanation hits home.

I feel really anxious because I was the best profile that they could find for my position, but still they know (they told me) and I know it, it would be better to have a higher profile with better qualifications. (In my country it is really hard to find people specialized in some fields.) My job is in german and now Im trying to improve my skills in order to be the minimum of what they need for being good at this job while I'm trying to improve my German to the level that I can do what they expect from me. But there is no time because there is a deadline.
