WIG CHAT: Jon Renau / EVE in Shaded Praline 12FS8
We are STYLING this baby.. Let's take EVE from DRAB to FAB!
My head measurements are:
Circumference: a tad over 21"
Ear to Ear: 12"
Front hairline to nape (just below occipital bone) 12"
Hey everyone! Welp, I decided to keep EVE mostly to show you how you can take a drab, flat, lifeless wig, and give it STYLE and LIFT/Body. This is what you can do with a wig that is shaped well.
I'll go through the cap before we get going so you can see that. Not a whole lot of reveiws on EVE here...so, hopefully this one will help you and give you some styling tips!
I purchased this wig HERE: cysterwigs.com...

JON RENAU Holding Spray: www.wigsbypatti...

Hi Jill! Once again, we have to say a huge THANK YOU for your wonderful words of praise about our SqHair Bands. The Black one with Crystals looked beautiful with your wig - we think it makes most any hairstyle look that much m ore natural - although the way you work with your wigs - they don't need anymore help! You do a fabulous job styling them. Have a great week, Julie G' p.s. We have seen quite a few 'JILL' discounts used - YEAH!!!

Jill!!! Keep up the great work girl! You really worked your magic on this one and it totally looks sooo cute on you! Are you using the it stays still? I did use your trick you gave me about using the hair at the nape to kind of give something for your wig to hold on to (I was having issues keeping it from riding up in the back). It helped a lot on my Jon Renau Julianne, which I love! I still need to try and use the it stays around the front hair line and see if that will help even more. Love your chats girl...keep them coming! Oh btw...I need those ingenious headbands!!! 🤗👏🏽💜

Hi Jill, I also love heat defiant wigs. My Raquel Welch and Jon Reneu pieces usually last 8-10 months before I have to re-order. At 8 months usually the first signs of wear begin to show and by the 10 month mark, the hair now is very dry and split-end, like. Up until the 8 month point the wigs really do look great. The only thing I do is wash them every 6 wears in a cold bath with a cap full of Johnsons baby shampoo. Then I spray them with Envys leave in conditioner and hang them upside down to dry.I have never had any issues with my heat defiant wigs not lasting as long as my regular synthetics have. I will say the fact that the Crowd Pleaser is my longest wig , helps with the lac of problems that I may of otherwise had if my wigs were very long. Actually, I think my Jon Reneu Haute wig may be a little longer then the Crowd Pleaser by R.W. Still though, I have no problems with Haute either. I will say I like the R.W True 2 Life fibers better then J.Rs heat defiant blend. I feel that J.Rs blend is somehow a little less soft then R.Ws.Jill, I recently found your channel and subscribed. May I just say thank-you for your videos ?I think you are such a delight!You are a very sweet and knowledgeable source.And Eve looks beautiful on you, by the way. I hope you enjoy this new piece. .

Hello Jacey! First off...thank you for the very kind words there at the end of your post. I appreciate the encouragement! WOW...I can only WISH I had the inkling that my wigs were going to last that long. BUT, there is just no way. I just washed my Straight Up With A Twist for the FIRST 'time yesterday, and it is not looking good! VERY dry, frizzy and looks like over-processed bleached hair. ;) I use a bit of JR shampoo for synthetic wigs, let it soak for 10 minutes in very cold water and rinse very, very well. Then, I spray the fibers down with the JR conditioning spray and let it dry on the dry rack. OH, and before I do wash them I spray with the HD detangling conditioning spray and gently comb with his wide tooth comb thing. Yeah, I do not know what the deal is! The only think that I can think of is that we have well water. I can see soaking them in Distilled water when I wash them, but it would take a lot of distilled water to rinse them with! I will try the other conditioning spray that you use. As for the baby shampoo...that still has harsh sulfates so I really doubt that will make much difference? Who knows! Thanks so much for posting this helpful information AND for watching. I appreciate you! Hugs!

Hi Jill, you were talking about wig sprays. I really like the one I got on Paula Youngs wig site. It's made by SCC, it's not sticky, dries fairly fast, brushes out, and it holds. The price is good as well. The regular price for 8 oz is $8.95, usually on sale, as it is now, for $5.95. I've never used the Jon Renau spray so I can't compare, but I was pleased when I tried this one as it held much better than the other ones I've used. Thanks for the great videos.

Hi again. Well, I thought about soaking it in cold water, however, I know that heat is what really changes the style, so that idea inspired me, but instead of cold water I put a cup of water in the microwave and combed the hot water through the flip to try to settle it down more. It definitely helped but I’m not through yet. I, like you, am determined to make this work. Life would be so much easier if the wig looked like it’s pictured to begin with😉

Hi Jill. So glad I came across your videos. My bio hair looks very much like yours with a little more thinning on top.😳 Menopause has really kicked by butt! Anyway I was wondering if you put the clips in this wig?
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie! I am super thin as well on top. THE main reason I cannot do anything with my hair anymore! The camera angle did not pick that up in the 'How I put on my wig' video. . ;) As for the clips...do you mean the wig I was wearing in the 'intro' part? OR the 'Eve'.. Ok, well I 'll answer both! LOL Yes, I put a clip in the UNITED wig that I am wearing in the introduction to this video. I have a whole 'journey' I went on with THAT one. I uploaded a video talking all about that nonsense! LOL SO, for me to wear that wig at all...it needs something in it! As for the EVE...no, I did not put any clips or anything in it throughout this video! I hope that answers your question...somewhere? HAHA! Thanks so much for watching!

Lol hi Jill...I reviewed this for CysterWigs..thats how I felt. I am stubborn and I liked the feel etc. and liked it enough to work with it. I actually ended up cutting the long piece off because it made no sense to me and putting some textured layers around the face..I love how you styled it though...I just found you..love your videos..your face shape is similar to mine...your bio hair is like mine so I'm excited to learn from you..thank you I'm so glad I found you..great tips and reviews...:-)
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathleen! First off thanks you for leaving this amazing comment. ;) You know...I have ALSO been thinking about trimming off that long piece! Because, you are so right...it really makes no sense. The cut does not 'gradually' start angling to that piece...it. just. appears. Have you tried dry shampooing it? It REALLY helps with creating that texture that this one really needs! I am so happy you found my little channel, and I am looking forward to more of you comments! Thanks so much for watching! Hugs~

Hi..I tried dry shampoo once on my JR Evan ( a short boycut in blonde brownie) abd I did something wrong because it just got white and I washed it out and never used it again..lol I got it through cysterwigs so folks use it on wigs...maybe I didn't shake it enough..I will try again..because yes thats the other thing it wants to cling to your face...thanks for the suggestion Jill. xxox all the best :-)
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 7 жыл бұрын
That can happen. You really do need to shake it, and also move it around fairly quickly when spraying. Also, don't hold it too close the hair. Experiment w/ different brands. I have learned they are all not created equal. I prefer 'Unwash' over the other that I bought. I got that one at Ulta.

I put in so much product, that even when I brushed it out for the evening, and put it on for the next wear...it didn't take much to style her for the day. It does 'fall' a bit through the day...but with a finger fluff here and there she seems to be good! Now, after I wash her...I'll have to re-style her to get that texture back.

Hi Jill. I know this is an older video, and maybe you won’t see this comment, but I had to write anyway. This was so helpful! I just received Amal from ROP, my first ROP. It looks nothing like any of the pictures. The manufacturers shouldn’t mislead us into thinking what is pictured is what we are getting. Or at least give us instructions on how to get the style shown. At any rate, I am left with a wig that looks like a 60’s flip and am trying so hard to make it me😊. It is not heat defiant so I am at a loss. When I tried it on I did the same as you mention in this video. I was going to send it right back and then decided product is what it needs. I used your dry shampoo tip and it helped, but what would you do to get rid of the ridiculous flip? It’s supposed to be a layered bob with soft curls. 🤨. Thanks, Eileen
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 6 жыл бұрын
HI Eileen! You may try soaking her in very cold water....do the regular to get excess water out, and let her dry on a stand. Maybe it will tame that flip a little? If it's not heat defiant...it can be hard to change. I know some people can use various heating devices with success on regular fibers...but, I haven't had success trying that. :/ If worse comes to worse...you could try cutting the length? I don't know how long it is?? Let me know how it goes, and good luck.

If I cut someone's hair like this in my salon they wouldn't come back ,🤣. I think it's a very expensive wig for what it looks like... compared to ignite which is a much better cut@half the price 😘
