German model railway retailers always look at me as if i was completely bonkers when I tell them I want to run an O-Gauge Railway in the garden - so I never tried. So I have LGB track with Playmobil trains for the kids. When I'm brave enough (and have the money ;-) ) - I will definitely come back to this video (and future videos of yours) to o it the clever way. Great!

It's a lovely model! I converted my B5 to battery a couple of months ago and have tried numerous receivers in them. For a few years now whenever we use Fosworks with DCC we've re-assigned sound on/off F-key from F1 to something else (we chose F11 but as long as it's above 3!) as we were forever turning the sound off by mistake! We usually have the two whistles on 1 & 3 and the brake remains on 2. TBH they're the functions you use most and you don't have to use shift buttons to get to them. Can't beat deadrail for outdoors in the UK 👍 I went dead back in the last century and have never regretted it.

If anyone can master the complexities of the dual twidly-twisty knob press-button thing, it is you mate 😉 That or give Lulu a go anyway (Clair asked if you could give Lulu an extra cuddle from her!) 🐕 🖤 Seriously though mate, Ellis really has come up with a wonderful model. It is certainly something I have considered in the future when we have found our ‘forever’ place of residence, as I’d love a simple garden branch with a Black 5, Class 33, GWR Manor and maybe a couple of tank engines to boot. I Wouldn’t need more than that, and with that brilliant system it could actually happen (though I suspect the tank engines will be a tad more difficult job!) 🤯 Just a couple of asides mate: 1, are there any other locos on your ‘want’ list?🤔 2, why not get herself a track cleaner wagon to aid traction? Won’t need to worry about current after all 😉 3, what was the knowing look about re 8 carriage trains? You planning an extension? 😎

Most informative. Great. Could you use a siding with an isolated tack section for the locomotive to recharge the battery from power to that isolated section and using the power pick ups on the tender wheels. Obviously the charge connector wiring would need to be modified and probably a stering diode added to the circuit.

This is super-specific, but I for one would happily sit down with a cup of cocoa and watch a whole video on how you'd sort out undulations / bumps in the track to make the running rails photo-realistic. A spirit level and small pieces of wood? I think it would be hugely satisfying to watch! Also, do you weather 0 gauge outdoor track the same you would indoors 00? Best of luck with your wonderful railway.
