Red Velvet queen of vocals and versatility! You need to check out their Killing Voice where they sing live snippets from their most popular songs. Their Red side are their fun, upbeat, cute songs (eg Happiness). Their Velvet side is more r&b, darker themes (Bad Boy). They do have songs where they mix these 2, Chill Kill and Cosmic.

Bad Boy is found on "The Perfect Red Velvet", an extended release of their 2nd full album which is regarded by both fans and critics as one of the best albums to come out of kpop. Bad Boy really is the surface level for just the sheer amount of good music and diversity you'll hear on the album so I'd definitely recommend you check it out asap :)

If you like Bad Boy you would absolutely adore Kingdom Come. It’s a B-side, but it’s my favourite RV song and I can say with 100% certainty that you’ll wear the breaks off that track.

Red Velvet's concept is meant to be a bit cute and a bit creepy. They're always playing witches or cultists or something similar in their music videos and I've always loved that. If you want to hear more of their vocals, you should check out Red Velvet's Killing Voice video. They sing parts of their songs that highlight some of their best vocals, so you'll get a great sample of their fun side (Red) and their R&B side (Velvet)!

You are right in your perceptions, when you get to know Red Velvet better you will understand, but they are almost always playing along that fine line between good and evil. This part is well placed in their base concept, which is the RED and the VELVET side, the RED is almost pop, bright, upbeat and happy, while the VELVET side is dark, deep, based on roots R&B, ballads, strong dark emotions and feelings.

My theory to why the chorus sounds a bit sad is because its for their 10 year anniversary, so maybe its a representation of the happiness of reaching the point but the sadness of their group coming closer to the end

The amazing thing about RV is that they do every single harmony by themselves instead of the producer just mixing it post recording. Their vocals are incredible. You should definitely check out more of their songs, especially Feel My Rhythm and Psycho. Red Velvet is a group known for never doing the exact same thing twice, so please keep that in mind when you check their other songs Sadly, a lot of "Bad Boy" fans become haters of the group just because they don't have another title track that sounds like "Bad Boy", so please have an open mind with them, they have a lot of fun, unique and beautiful songs that you might like

Bad Boy does have an album, called The Perfect Red Velvet if you're interested in checking it out. As for recommendations, I definitely suggest checking out Feel My Rhythm. The music video is based off of The Garden of Earthly Delights which is a famous surrealist art piece and the song samples Bach's Air on G. Psycho is also a fan favorite and many people who like Bad Boy also end up loving Psycho. Last recommendation from me would be Russian Roulette which is more on the pop(or red as they call it) side, but again another fan favorite.

Red Velvet is not just an R&B group. The Red side is fun, high-energy, summery songs. Like Happiness. Then you have the Velvet songs, the slower, more mature, R&B side, like Bad Boy. On the Happiness video, at 12 seconds in, you can see Yeri in the bottom center. She was not with the original 4 because she was not 16 yet. She was planning to join from the beginning, they just had to wait. When you see the music video for Automatic, she was 16 and this was the first time she ever wore heels. (You'll understand when you see it.) The girl is damn impressive. At the end of Cosmic, you'll see where it says that it was inspired by Midsummer, just like you said. If you look at the tapestry in the beginning, you'll see how they have the video planned out. As you go through their catalog, when you watch the music videos, most of them have a 'WTF Did I just watch?' vibe. Russian Roulette and Peek-A-Boo are two examples. Then you have the songs that you never want to stop; I, Just, Be Natural, Automatic, and Milky Way are the top ones, IMHO. You want beauty in harmony? These are the ones. As a side note, there is a short where they drop a cake and all five shriek in harmony. It is as funny as it sounds.

First XG then Red Velvet? You know how to pick 'em. The members that caught your attention were Wendy and Seulgi; Wendy had the real powerful vocals.Red Velvet are vocal queens, especially with harmonies, and Bad Boy is maybe them at their best. But for the undisputed vocal queens you need to check out Mamamoo. I know you've got your strategy of reacting to debut, most popular and most recent but if you do Mamamoo you should watch the Killing Verse, it's a live medley of their discography starting from their debut and one of the best live performances available on KZbin. Period. FYI, Red Velvet also has a Killing Voice performance if you're interested.

I thought Midsommar wouldn't be for me, so a while back I decided to read the plot instead of watching it, just because I was curious and just reading that already disturbed me a LOT, so that was a mistake 😂 So yeah watching the Cosmic video definitely made me feel weird because I've seen trailers of the film so it was already obvious to me that it was inspired by it, I wish I wouldn't have known about that film because Red Velvet almost make it look wholesome, and I know the film is very much the opposite of that 😅

Most of us care about vocals, not visuals. Irene and Joy aren't the only beautiful ones in Red Velvet, either. They are all so beautiful.
