I’m with you 💯 fragrance mists should be affordable, they never gave luxury to me. It’s a easy cash grab for these larger companies, they see a lot of people layering their perfumes with mists and want to jump on the bandwagon.

Totally agree, which is why I set myself a limit that I will spend on a fragrance mist. I don’t care how hype it gets, my limit is set. I don’t even own any sol de Janeiro because those prices are a bit steep for those size bottles for a mist

You hit the nail on the head. One of the reasons I never hopped on the Sol de Janeiro train is I couldn't wrap my head around $30 bodymists. Body mists were inexpensive perfumes or things to layer with. In the same way, I don't feel comfortable paying $80 for perfume oils. Also, I remember everyone making fun of people who wore bodymists. So now that designers are making them its cool. Oh ok. They're not about to play with my coins 😅

Vania...Thank you for reviewing ALL these fragrances. Kayali is a no for me. I don't want a set. I could end up liking one or two and half to decide whether or not to keep them all. I'm good on Arabian fragrances too. They are a hit or miss. Phlur. I like Vanilla skin. I have the mist, don't need the edp. I loved Phlur Amber Haze. Quai I have it all. Body butter scrub and body mist. That is lovely. Thank you for being you. Thank you too for planning an update on fragrances. I like to hear thoughts later down the line after wearing them. Very understandable! Forcing a set was not a smart decision in my opinion. You have to be willing to play the long game with Arabian perfumes. What does the vanilla skin mist smell like to you? I’m thinking it was that amber haze that was on my arm for thumping like that! Thank you so much! ☺️

@@vaniamickelle Honestly Vanilla skin reminds me of Supreme Vanilla from Zara. Also I believe its called Cozy fireside Smore from Bodycology. I layered it one day with Bare vanilla and Vanilla potion. I had people asking all day what I had on. You half to get Amber Haze. Beautiful. Make that a fragrance Phlur!

I have a few of the SDJ mists but I only have them because I had Ulta points to use. If I ain't willing to $16.96 for a mist at BBW, I am not spending $40-$50 bucks for a mist, especially if performance isnt great.

I’m with you on luxury fragrance mists I know Nest just came out with some as well for $40 I’m not paying for that stuff too damn much!!! I will be sticking too Bbw and Victoria Secrets as well I stay shopping the sales and u also use perfume body oils as well I stick to inexpensive perfumes from mixbar zara and finery 😂😂😂😂😂that’s my price range and budget and I do just fine 😊

I feel like sol de janeiro was so hyped this last year that everyone tried to jump on it. But mists were always their thing. They’ve only ever had one perfume. We don’t need a mist from everyone, I don’t want a mist unless it’s $5. SDJ is the only one I’ll make an exception for and only a couple of the fragrances.

Completely agree with your thoughts on higher-end companies releasing fragrance mists. I would even go as far as to say they’re trying to pass off lesser-quality items (fragrance mists being of lesser quality than perfumes) to save themselves the money of producing it. Less fragrance oil = less money spent on their end. They get to make more sales while simultaneously feeding into the elitist narrative of “luxury” fragrance mists. Same goes for all of the other “luxury” body care (body/perfume oil, body wash, body butter, skincare, etc.). I think it would make more sense if niche companies did it (i.e. if Parfums de Marly came out with a Delina fragrance mist for like $50).

I just half to leave another comment....This is a great topic and it should be discussed. I agree with Vania on these body mists. Don't get me wrong, I love SDJ, own most of them. They have the mist game on lock in my opinion. The other brands are finding out that people are NOT buying there fragrances. Layering is to not only to create a signature scent it's has become a way to make your $180 fragrance last. Cause lord knows some of these expensive fragrances could use some longevity. So now it's a money grab to get your coins some kind of way. Honey.....your $60, $80 mist does nothing better than SDJ and cheaper. I can't wait until these brands start doing away with travel sprays. I'm sure they have seen the sales go up.......

I’m totally getting you. I remember being hesitant to get my Sol de Janeiro mists because to me $24 for a 3oz body mist was ridiculous. I enjoy them but still think it’s kinda high for body mists when I get BBW way cheaper lol. Perspective. 😊

When I first smelled it, it has like a leather or suede note to it and I didn’t like that (and I couldn’t return it), but now it’s completely gone! I love it now lol

I couldn’t watch my faves review Vacay in a bottle until I posted my own first impression and yours was one I looked forward to the most. We both loved the same ones. I love them so much though and I’m already wanting larger bottles because I do not want to buy this set again when they run out. I don’t like Marrakech or Capri at all. Tried but I don’t. I think you make a really excellent point about body mists and the desperation of brands in the fragrance market. This really is the year of everyone and their mother of coming out with a body fragrance hair mist version of their popular fragrances that cost like 20 and up. Hence why I have a collection of body mists for the first time in my life! 😆 I love the St Barts fragrance but I refuse to buy the mist because I have the body crème and wash. I did just get a mist from Nest NY though. 😩

Lowes and Home Depot is crazy 🤣The Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist is woody and deep but I think you would find it a lighter in the sense that it's more tolerable for the summer/fall than the heavy perfume version. I didn't feel the need to buy the perfume because the mist already has so much power to it. One of the STRONGEST body mists I have tried

I’m still on the fence to whether I will keep the Kayali set or return it. I like 2 out of the 4 ( Capri and Maui). Capri is very similar to Hard to Get, Lira etc. Definitely agree with the body mist releases. It’s a money grab for sure.

I feel like it’s always something new coming out. i just got Kayali 42 and then noticed they dropped the 4 summer bottle set. As of the body mist, I will always buy BBW mists. My fave is Capri & Maui. 🍋 🍌

I also bought a travel size spray of their other new fragrance Soft Spot. Just to get a feel of it I layered them last night before bed at 10pm. Woke up at 530am for work...When I say thumping!!! I smelled too good lol. Today I layered Soft Spot with Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited. I'm enjoying it so far. Continue to be authentically Vania that's why we love you!! For the luxury one that I have by CC I equate the fragrance mist to being toilette water (old school). Its my favorite house and I layer it with all the Les Exclusif (their private line) so I’m ok with paying $125 for it. It’s called No.1 and it last 4 hrs on skin however longer on clothes. I also use phlur and that last a long time also… I actually got sick of the amber haze before it wore off lol. I have Ouai body mist and it last 3/4 hrs as skin scent but longer on my clothes. I agree with you about babysitting perfumes, not sure when that became a thing but I will take myself out of the equations for middle eastern perfumes. I own all of Quais perfumes. When st Bart's came out everyone &their mom said it was BOMB. I bought it. It was meh...def not vacation or beach scent to me which is what I gravitate to. I'm gonna keep it. But it's over hyped. Smells like a basic fruity body spray. Not worth $28. Maybe worth $5 at bath&body semi annual sale. Overall disappointing
