I like the blade shape on this model better than the other two 🤔

Kershaw came out swinging hard in Q1 2023. Much respect.👊 I like that blade finish compared to a polish. D2 can have some blemish if not keeping dry. So that finish will do great to hide imperfections. What a knife for $50ish. Great job ATE.👍

Just waiting for a bit till I get this one. Only because, I bought both the Heist & the Iridium. They are in the mail & I look forward to working them into shape. I also, pick up the CJRB CRAG...which is taking some to get used to, but enjoying it as well. Good review...

Love D2 steel! Such a all around middle of the road workhorse steel, love it 👍 I own the Kershaw *LINK* in 20CV USA made knife! Best knife I own, really only way to improve would have been with a hollow grind instead of flat grind. LOVE KERSHAW! Aloha from Michigan

Really enjoy your approach to your reviews & don't understand how you don't have more subscribers, but I'm sure they're on the way. I did pick up the Kershaw Heist and the Iridium. Just waiting to see if the Kershaw Monitor or the Kershaw Covalent should be next.

I really like these new Kershaws. My one and only issue is D2.

For whatever it's worth, my experience with Kershaws D2 had been good.

If anything it’s at least an upgrade over the 8cr of the past (unless you need a true stainless steel, I guess.)
@whammofammo7346 Жыл бұрын
@@Stahlwerk88 I prefer the old 8cr honestly. Yes I will have to sharpen it daily instead of stropping daily but I can use the bottom of my coffee cup to put a workable edge on it. I hate sharpening D2 almost as much as s90. Good thing we have so many choices in the knife market.

I’d like to see this one with a satin finish and different color scales. Typical Kershaw color scheme is pretty bleh. Killer designs tho and that’s what is important here! I’ll say it again, take note CRKT!!

I really do like the overall design aesthetics of this knife. I'm not a huge flipper fan, but at least you can release with the DuraLock, too. I dig it! 👍 Speaking of cheap Kershaw's, I remember when I bought my first one. An all-black, partially serrated Clash for $20 in 2017. Same knife is $38 on Amazon today! 🤡🌎

I'm not really into knives like these but I do like knives that are ht'd well no matter the steel and I decided to get one cause you said they did their d2 good. I do like the knife and the cheap price but the d2 steel was not good and only about average compared to other reputable companies using d2. It was better than some no name knife claiming d2 steel but definitely not any better than a 50 dollar civivi knife. Basically it's not horrible anymore but definitely not good.
@ATherapeuticEdge Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. I've had great luck with their D2 but I suppose when large batches are involved things can happen.

@@ATherapeuticEdge I wasn't saying it's was bad at all. But when I hear that a steel is done well I'm expecting a optimal hrc with a good grain structure. I know it's a budget knife but these companies been doing d2 for years and m390 in premium knives forever and and would think when they say it's good it's actually good not just average compared to do doing it crappie. I only bought this knife to test against a sencut knife in d2 and a demko ad20.5 in k110. In the end the demko cut about 20% more carbord than sencut and 25% more than Kershaw. Toughness was closer in comparison from cutting and hitting into brass and aluminum. And sharpening/ how well the knife debured and the result from a bess test showed the demko being about 20% better than the other 2 while civivi and Kershaw being so close in comparison that it's a buy the the one you like better kinda knife. Overall it's a good knife with a good lock and an upgrade over 8cr but I wouldn't say Kershaw is doing d2 good. I compare all d2 knives to a custom made edc fixed blade I have and for a production companies d2 steel to be considered good it's gotta get within 20% of what the fixed blade can do or it's just another d2 knife in the sea of d2 knives. Also new to you channel and been enjoying your videos

Blade rust in 8 seconds flat, then you get to have a rust stained blade.
@ATherapeuticEdge Жыл бұрын
I dunno.. I've had lots of D2 and very little rust. But then it's fairly dry here. D2 is not all weather or all environment friendly.
