There is definitely a baked in character to the DG preamp. It's not just the frequency centers. There is a unique mid shift that I hear in everything DG does. It makes for a very articulate tone.

I watched Nate Navrro's video where he compared an A2 to a Dingwall and I think I liked the A2 more. I was surprised. You got plenty of nice tones out of this one.

I was surprised at how different they sounded in Nate's video. I think its the Tritium pickups

I recently ordered a Vader in hot pink with black crackle, but I got a palemoon ebony fretboard. That bass sounds as good as it looks. Thanks for a preview of what my guitar will look like!

Super nice bass! Way better than the builder depicted, especially with the crackle! Love the Dingwald-esque pickup loadout.

I bought a Spector Euro LT recently that has the darkglass preamp and Bartolini PU's and it is the best sounding and most responsive bass I have ever owned and i probably have owned a 100. I bought two Darkglass tone capsules and having them installed in two other basses i own and waiting for the installs to complete.

Dude, that is one killer instrument. I’m more of a p-bass with flat wounds player, but this is very enticing for a more modern edge….plus loads of tones!

Ive got an older Warwick dolphin pro, which I love, but I’ve been contemplating on getting either a dingwall or Kiesel ..mainly for a more manageable high end bite

Try a Darkglass Tone Capsule pre in your Dolphin.

Hi! Great video! What are some of the specs on that bass? And Is that a maple fretboard and maple neck? What's the body made out of?.... i'm gonna get one and I like the really that tone of yours. Thanks!

Sounds great. In my experience it’s hard to go back from multi-scale. The darkglass pre in my combustion is super sensitive so even though it sounds great I find myself making really minor adjustments.

Question: are these Dingwall/Dingwall looking type basses good for other types of music? I ask, because every demo I see of them, it’s always a “rock/metal” thing going on. I’m an older dude-old-school fender P/J (separate) type of guy, so my question is out of pure ignorance.

Yeah look up Lee Sklar. He does a lot of videos in his house sitting in a chair right in front of the camera giving you a close up of his hands while he plays a lot of the hits he was one. Those song are from like 70's and 80's. Like James Taylor/Toto etc.. Also tons of videos of him playing live in these non metal groups so you can hear a Dingwall being played in a non metal situation.
@learnmusic48811 ай бұрын

I have two awsome looking Keisel basses. That said Keisel is hoping like Hell that bass doesn't get returned
@t.c.v.t.11 ай бұрын
It's just a dingwall. Kind of a disappointedly lame move on their part. Instead of designing a original bass that could move metal into the next era like the dingwall/darkglass phase and offer something unique they just gave up trying to compete with dingwall and just made a copy.
@carlchameleon984711 ай бұрын
Yeah. Pretty lame tbh. They could have made some crazy signature fluence bass pickups to put in there, with a new 3 pickup variation or have SOMETHING unique, but no.
@randygomez959510 ай бұрын
But it's a Dingwall with a ton of custom options for like, half the price of an actual Dingwall.
@t.c.v.t.10 ай бұрын
@@randygomez9595 i checked it out, once you start picking a few options it becomes as expensive as a Dingwall. Also they sound different regardless.
@carlchameleon984710 ай бұрын
@@randygomez9595 a dingwall is somewhere between 1800 and 2600 new. the kiesel a2 bass starts at 2600 with the only specs being multiscale, everthing else standard. how is that cheaper KEEP IN MIND, I AM LOOKING AT THE KIESEL PRICES WHILE THERES A HUGE SALE GOING ON
@50beowulf9 ай бұрын
I don't disagree. Dingwall has created a paradigm shift in the bass world that has chreated a unique subgenre of the instrument. Much like the Les Paul and Stratocaster did for guitars many years ago.
