Bought one of these (new) and am very impressed with it. Had a KTM previously and had no issues/problems. There is a lot of snobbery about bikes - this brand is 'better' than that one, etc. For the record I have owned a GS, ST1300, CBF1000 and many others. All good bikes in their place but have to say that the BMW GS was unreliable and the dealer service appalling. That is not to say all BMW bikes/dealers are the same. Applying this logic leads me to believe there are lots of people out there that have no reliability problems and, therefore, do not comment. Every bike manufacturer has its critics and supporters, choice comes down to what you like and/or need. Dealer support is important and essential to the enjoyment of any bike. Let us all stop being youtube critics and do what we know we enjoy, riding our bikes. Every bike has pros and cons, live with it!!

Ich habe sie mir im Juli, nach der Probefahrt, gekauft. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Den Quickshifter habe ich schon freigeschaltet, vielleicht kommt noch der Rally Mode dazu. Auf jeden Fall läuft sie mit einer kürzeren Übersetzung noch besser (vorne 15 anstatt 16 Zähne) Gruß

I bought a 2020 KTM 790S Adventure in December of 2020 for $9,999.00 net (the price included tax and tags).I love the Motorcycle. IMO it is like a cross between a Sports/Adventure Motorcycle.

Great review seamed spot on , I’ve recently bought one, had 1090r and also have a moded 390 adventure (which is superb by the way) I also was surprised by the performance, I couldn’t really tell the difference between this and the 890 , in fact I found the non adjustable suspension equally as good for what I need it to do and unless you are really going to push off road it’s not an issue to worry about, I’ve covered just over 1k so far no problems and really don’t expect any just a solid well priced bike .

KTM will continue to be pretty garbage for buyers due to their "pay to unlock" system and really bad reliability. This is more suited for the "I don't know what I'm doing" type of buyer than it is someone who is a serious buyer for adv riding. Being the #1 worst reliable brand on the market does not help things. Even CFMOTO got things right on their first release of an adventure bike, and yet ktm just doesn't seem to get it. Most of our group rides GS bikes or Hondas with the occasional random ride here and there. of the 3 ktm bikes we've had in the group, all 3 of them replaced within a few months when they realized how they actually ride and work. The transalp 750 and the ibex 800t are really the only two budget friendly bikes worth getting if you don't have GS money.

I’ve never owned one, but for my day riding I thought it was a nice bike to ride on the road. The GS is worlds apart. It’s the best adventure bike out there but it’s expensive. But not everyone has the money like you say. To be honest the best budget adventure bike I’ve ridden recently was the Benelli 702x I’ve owned Benelli’s in the past and they are really upping their game. As budget bikes go they are at the top.

Instead of complaining about "pay to unlock" think of it as a "try before you buy". How many other manufacturers offers a chance to try out something to see if you like it before you commit to buying? As regards reliability - my 2 x 990 Adv and 1 x 640 Adv say otherwise. My current 790 Adv makes me smile every time I ride it.

@@GillyBikes The 702x does look like a good buy. I've personally never been on one so only seeing what paper shows. If it rides as good as it's looking on paper this could be a big contender against the cfmoto

Na dann viel Spaß beim konfigurieren einer BMW 1300 GS !! Da kann man schnell die 25.000-30.000 € Marke erreichen 😂 und bei einer 10.000€ KTM über 390€ für ein QS und 200€ für den Rally Mode aufregen !? Mal auf dem Boden bleiben !! Ich fahre seit 13 Jahren KTM ..ohne Probleme !! Die 790er ist handlich und sparsam , und funktioniert bei mir problemlos. Sie wird jetzt übrigens von CF Moto gefertigt.

get one and ride it. I had two 790 s and r and now I have 890. All without any major problems, and the way its ride is just amazing. You shoudl spend some time on it befor judge it. I may be surprised :-)
