Just got my Brick Monarch Shop order in and here are my thoughts: I purchased two T-shirts, both of which are of decent quality if a little thin. The print work is good, but not excellent. If I were to reorder, I think I would go with a medium size as the larges are a little bigger than most shirts I've owned. (Do they make larges bigger in America or something?) The real highlight of my order is the desk lamp of the Rock Raiders drill - it has a very smooth colour changing LED and plugs right into my computer, lighting up when I turn it on and powering off when I shut it down. It's perfect! Overall, I'm happy with my order. I think the T-shirts would get 2 slugs on the Slugometer and the desk light would get the full 3. The shirts were definitely on the pricey side when it comes to custom merch items, so I was hoping for a little bit better quality in the product. Shipping and duty charges were expensive too, so I think I'd only recommend ordering from this store if you live within the USA.

Hey folks! The kerfuffle with Bricklink couldn't stop us from talking about Rock Raiders today! I know a lot of folks are going to want me to follow up on that stuff, but I really want to avoid the "current event for clicks" spiral that causes. My intention behind that video was to get the ball rolling on the discussion and hopefully influence the admin at Bricklink to reconsider their actions. That video is not indicative of what I like to create on this channel, as hopefully you've come to know! If you want updates on that situation, I've recently pinned a new comment to that video and will continue to do so as needed. Let's keep the Bricklink stuff contained over there so we can continue to talk about LEGO here. 😊 Speaking of which, LOTS of links in the video description of this one worth checking out! Be sure to peruse at your leisure! Thanks everyone! ❤

OMG, a Rock Raiders mech!! Little child me would have gone bonkers for this. Heck, lets not kid ourselves, old me is also going bonkers for it! Its interesting to see the similarities it shares with the Life on Mars sets (unfortunately not a 90s theme, so definitely out of RR Slugger's reach, right. Right?), with the use of the new finger locked joints for elbow articulation. Its also fun to spot the differences, like how the LoM mechs added hinged plate for more articulation on the shoulders. What makes me jump up and down and scream silently at my screen is the use of a 4x4 plate as the base of the chest, with 2x2x2 panels to allow a minifig inside. This... This is what little me used to build in his mech MOCs!! Anyway, its always good to hear the Rock Raiders Sluggy Jam again, hopefully well indeed get to hear more of it this year
@RRSlugger11 ай бұрын
That's so cool to hear that you were thinking like a LEGO designer back then! You raise a good point about those ratchet joints too - this is likely one of the first LEGO mechs to use that connection type for its arms! I didn't even realize that while making the video, but this mech is pretty historically significant in a way! 😮

That would have been awesome. A Rock Raiders simulation ride at Legoland. I've been in Legoland Gunzburg and Billund last year. The new Mythica section in Gunzburg is nice, but the older sections were a little bit 'old'. The models were discolored by sunlight and it felt like the whole park needed more attention to detail and a paint job. Billund was better. The Lego Movie 2 section of the park is the best section with great rides. The Western section feels a little bit outdated. I think reworking the canoe attraction would do a lot of work. The weirdest thing in the park is the clothing store. A store full of clothes, not Lego Wear but random brands of cloths. That is a missed opportunity. I found it strange that the Legoland parks do not have a Space section. I have a lot of mugs of Lego, but the Rock Raiders mug is not easy to get. Not long ago one was available for over the 70 euros.

Ahh, every time I hear news about how certain early models and renders for Rock Raiders were rediscovered, it gives me hope that the same will happen with Lego Loco. I'd love to build the trains from the game in real life, but they're far too small to see properly. And while some are based on actual Lego trains, they were modified so heavily that they'd still be visible at a tiny scale. The green engine however... that one never existed, and the only images we have of it are too small. Oh well, at least I can dream. Also, I remember the "just imagine..."-slogan! I LOVED that one, because it gave me such heavy nostalgia at the time, even though I was living through it. So surprised to see how short-lived it was.
