we are getting wrought in Australia, normally the $160-$170 sets in the US are $260 in Australia, but no it’s $300AUD ($200USD) it’s an absolute absurd price point. I am honestly scared that the dark falcon would be even more expensive than the star destroyer ($180USD), I wouldn’t be surprised if we get it for $330. Now look the May the fourth sets we got for a great RRP for all the sets. Long story short, I hate how inconsistent the prices are with these 2024 Star Wars sets in Australia, I am a die hard collector and I will eventually get everything, it’s just that I hate how sets are more expensive in one region vs another.

I think I’d still rather own/have the 2006 version. Sure it’s got the crude gaps but you can easily just add pieces to cover them and to me that’s well worth the huge interior space and loads of excellent features.

I remember hearing one of the leakers of the last year's gunship saying they didn't see any renders of an actual gunship, just the piece list. The the clones and the amount of red and white pieces (and I guess bits like the cockpit pieces) meant they were basically pretty sure it was a republic gunship. I wonder if with this they just saw a ton of grey pieces, imperial minifigs and maybe some internal document calling it something like an "imperial playset" and they figured it was a death star based set.

1:51 I believe that the reason for the amount of figures in the Star Destroyer set is because the amount of space inside the star destroyer can only hold a certain amount of figures. Although more figures is always amazing, you mentioned in 1:55 a Harry Potter set there are many more figures for the same price but that is probably because the build has much more space to hold all the figures.

fun fact Commander Praji is an Imperial Naval officer that was trained at the Imperial Naval Academy on Carida, and received high honors at his graduation. He was placed as Darth Vader's aide on the Star Destroyer Devastator, where he was in charge of recovering the plans to the first Death Star from the Tantive IV. but you probably already knew that (readjusts monocle)

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the size being too small, but that’s the reason I like this one. I had the first one and was always bumping into it because the side went out beyond the shelf I had it on. Plus the panels and laser turrets always fell off when trying to open it, so I sold that set. If I see a good discount on this one, 30% off or more, I’ll pick it up. Really like the hidden handle too.

I don’t really care if the star destroyer is too small. I mean at least we’re getting a new star destroyer in 2024 with more pieces. Plus this is good for people who don’t really have a lot of shelf space (like me), where they could put somewhere where it doesn’t need a lot of space. I feel like the argument of Cal not having his poncho included being ok because he doesn't always wear it is the equivalent of it being ok that Darth Maul doesn't come with his cape or hood in the sith infiltrator because he doesn't always wear that either. Just because they don't exclusively wear those items doesn't mean they aren't iconic looks that aren't necessary to complete the character. In my playthrough of fallen order I took the poncho off almost immediately and never wore it again, so I'm not too upset by this, but nonetheless it should have been an option, especially for a 25th anniversary figure. You mean to tell me Saw Gerrera gets a cape (and Qui Gon gets a poncho in the same set), but giving Cal his poncho is too much? I don't think so.

Just for those who don’t know, Commander Praji was Vader’s aid on the Star destroyer that boarded the Tantive IV in A New Hope. He was the guy that reported there were no life forms on c-3PO and r2-d2’s escape pod. Pretty minor character but cool to have him I guess

@MandRproductions I personally really care if smaller crafts are minifigure scale (1:35 to 1:50). But since minifig scale is not possible for capital ships, then I don't really think there is really such thing as "too small" or "too big." At the end of the day, adults and kids alike will have a huge range of budgets, ship interests, and shelf space. If anything, I think a midi-scale star destroyer is overdue (the only other one released back in 2010). --- On an unrelated note, can you and other content creators promise Lego Group you'll purchase a $1,700 UCS chrome Naboo Royal Starship even if the cost per piece is like 30 cents? Lego Group would probably need so many new molds/tooling that the units sold would have to be quite high.

Thoughts overall. For anyone curious but not enough to google, Commander Praji is the officer that tells Vader about the escape pod with no lifeforms onboard at the beginning of A New Hope. It definitely looks small. I'll have to see it in person (or in your review) to really judge. The handle is awesome. Mostly the downside is the lack of the Chimaera. The poncho is iconic enough that Cameron Monaghan (Cal's voice/mocap actor) showed up to Star Wars Celebration wearing a poncho and asked the creators why Cal was without a poncho in the Jedi Survivor trailer. Not a deal breaker for me by any means, but it is an inherent part of the look for those that care about those things.

I’m very middle of the fence on buying this. I’ve never had a Star Destroyer and the price is reasonable, but it might be a bit small (which isn’t a bad thing since I need space) and there aren’t many unique imperial officers (Praaji might be a novel addition but I would’ve rather had Admiral Ozzel or Captain Needa).

I did the math and it is literally to scale with the Midi Scale invisible hand it’s just one inch longer so it would be around 17.02.
