Very happy that you can have space to create. It will be outgrown before we know it...well, there is no end to our dreams. I think it's awesome that you can build while looking over your city and sets from the loft! One factory that I worked at in the nineties had wild color tiles in the break room. We were told that the company got those tiles super cheap because no one else wanted them.😂 It did make for an interesting time there and really brightened up the space. My current work place shop is about twice your building's size and those overhead heaters run almost all the time in the cold months but it is comfortable in there, I've set up my LEGO trains in there in December/January and I was only freezing from unloading my car and setting up the track before I warmed up.

The smallest room should be your backlog/set storage room. The mezzanine should be your part storage moc area.

Bricksie, invest in some glass cabinets, that way you could add a underwater scene to your city, with levels. Also get a second Lion Knights Castle, so you can create a river island castle connected to both sides, with a bridge. But your new place not only lets you create a super big mountain setup, but also create a ceiling airplane scene, so see about creating some way to easily above the city, near the ceiling. And I ask you, where will you store all your bricks? I can see you using at least one lower room for lego brick storage and the other for investment Invest in some of those lay under your car, boards, plus planks with wheels under them, that way you can more easily move under your city, with new modular's or lego parts holders. Will you put walkways around the side walls? And if the first floor becomes your building & filming room, might I suggest you add in somekinda elevator to help transport larger objects up & down? But yeah, you really need to sit down and start thinking, on that have you followed Beyond The Brick? Look at that guy with his castle themed room, they visited him twice.

Jordan, you are living the dream!!! It's so cool to see how far you've come since the early days. This place is incredible! I understand the appeal of building upstairs, but I think going up and down those stairs that often is going to get old fast, especially if you're constantly carrying Lego up and down it throughout the day. I think this upper section should be the ultimate display and MOC room. Put your favorite sets, MOCs, have a couch and coffee table in the middle (could be a good spot to vlog), and a building table that faces downstairs specifically for building sets (which you sometimes wouldn't have to bring back down since they'll stay in the display zone. Keep the bottom room for more everyday city builds, where it's easier to go back and forth. I also think painting a wall with your branding could be great for the channel and quite memorable. At the very least have a Bricksie sign pulled by a plane in the sky wall! I have so many ideas for this room haha, excited to see what you come up with!!
@aayancey8 ай бұрын
I totally agree with this comment. Carrying built Lego up and down the steps and all the Lego that needs to be sorted, etc is just too much. Make the upstairs the ultimate Lego lounge with see-through railing, modern furniture, recording equipment, and a place to build unique, top-shelf sets.Leave all the production work downstairs.

In the extra washroom, you could put in an industrial sink and a washing machine to wash lego more efficiently. Also, in the staircase, you can put in a lower set of hand railings for the kiddos to hang onto. I hope these suggestions can help. Congratulations on getting your dream space. I can hardly wait to see how this next phase of your journey plays out. I am so happy for you and your family. Don't forget to put up a wish list of things you need as all of your fans would love to pitch in and to know we all had a little piece in helping make your dreams come true!!❤❤❤

I don't know where you new warehouse is located - but once the LEGO city is all (re)built, you should definitely consider opening it up to the public, even selling tickets for it. Maybe once a week or something? I know if this was near me, I would gladly pay money to walk my kids through to check it out. Could help offset some of the the new costs of the space! Either way: best of luck refinishing the new space and moving everything in! Will be awesome to watch your progress.
@sergio.lameiras8 ай бұрын
Why not have a 'city vs city' cenario? One city on each end with different characteristics to give you more creative freedom to do a variety of build types. The transition area could be countryside/farm/lake areas and also a great way to have a longer inter-city railway system while also having a smaller inner city subway/train system. With such a great train collection, it would be such a shame to not give them space to 'stretch their legs' so to speak. Alternatively, you could have an 'outer city' on tables along the walls all around the city with an exxxxtra long railway that went back and forth and the 'inner city' like you have described, but with little or no trains (except for the subway system below as you mentioned in another video) giving you even more space for builds.
@brentdell24058 ай бұрын

the ideas are flowing! I would say to start the city build at the front or middle of the space which will allow you to drive into the space through the back garage door when moving everything over. Especially with the cold weather, it’ll be nice to drive in close the big garage door and then unload. And if the city doesn’t quite need that much space you can use the back of the wear house space as a loading bay or a place to pack your car inside during Edmontons freezing winter.

Anyways, congrats on the new place!

Awesome opportunity Bricksie and I'm sure you'll do more fun stuff here. I know you've thought a lot about the space so I'm not trying to sway you, if it were my space I would use the mezzanine only for things that don't move. Carrying (spillong) parts up the stairs, building, then carrying them down, dropping them and smashing them (maybe just once ;) ) would drive me bonkers. I would use it as a gallery (to look over the city) and to display the sets that are purely for display...

Congrats man! It's gonna be awesome to see what you do with the space! Some ideas I'd recommend being in your shoes before. 1. However many power outlets/plugs you're adding to the walls, add a few extra, you never know when you'll need it and they're cheap to add. 2. Just an idea, but make one washroom like you mentioned, and turn the other into your industrial cleaning room, the hook ups are there already, and you can also use it for storage. 3. With the studio being upstairs, I'd place a wall that acts as the "railing" going around the opened front to the city area, that way on the other side of the wall you can place track shelving and add additional Lego of your choice. 4. Add a few shelves or something up stairs to have work in progress projects to keep separate from your finished projects. I did this with my studio and it helped a ton compared to having projects in bins. 5. Laminate flooring (I can it drop and lock flooring) is a great and inexpensive way to really spruce up the floor, consider ripping the tile out and replacing it with that as it's waterproof and comes in a huge variety of colors. Cheers man, love what you do and I'm so excited for you and your family. Sending love from The Bionicle Archives!

Don't know if it's been discussed already or not (probably has) but a good mural (or set of murals) on the walls themed to the various Lego city themes would be great. Painted but with some vinyl graphics added for more details. Also an idea for a wall in the Mezzanine area would be to get the classic Lego brick primary colors and paint the blocks with them in a section as sort of a nod to the entire Lego theme. I know you already have lighting figured out and likely ordered but I've seen a lot of videos (usually car in garage videos) of various LED ceiling light kits that are a bunch of hexagons linked together and they always provide a great even light.

Wow! That is a fantastic space you've acquired! So much potential. You're gonna have a lot of fun. Enjoy! One suggestion for the city area floor: I put down industrial carpet tiles in the walkways all around my city and I'm so glad I did. So much more pleasant to walk around- easier on the feet. It also help to calm down the echo you get from bare concrete floors and walls.

Looks fantastic. Depending on your investment scale you could use small room to store Lego investment sets or just build a small cupboard under the stairs if its on smaller side. I think it would be fun to have a lego moc of your studio in the new city layout and you could create some micro builds to represent the table etc. inside. Great sponsor and very relevant 👍

(of course you should add regular cleaning equipment and supplies and such needed for the building to that room too then) 😄

You could make one of the wash rooms a kitchenette, as you have plumbing in them; and if you move the Lego city back, you can reverse your car in when you need to move stuff in. I'd do one room at a time so you don't get overwhelmed. If you buy a really wide indoor brush, you can make short work of those floors. Then, mix some industrial floor cleaner with boiling water, and mop it on and let it sit for 30 mins at least; then mop it up. If you work in sections it should take about a day.
