As a suggestion for the mils plates on the upper layout. Make all the bricks on the edge the same color. That way the edge blends together and you don't have a bunch of different color pieces next to each other being a distraction on camera. Or find a way to hid the edge of the mils plates.

Yes...something that is on my todo list. Ideally they are all the same color, but that becomes a bit more difficult with the technic bricks, arches, 2x4 bricks, and 2x2 bricks as they don't all come in the same colors necessarily. I have also thought about creating a small edger module that plugs into the technic bricks around the edges and provides a nice edging...this seems like the better of the two approaches. Will definitely see what I can do with that.
