Thanks a lot for this.lesson. I have to play this great music with my band but I really didn't find a video as a natural aproach to the music as yours. Everyone I have checked seemed a little off of what is played, specially about the rim click pattern at the beginning and the shuffle being played on bass drum..... whatever it is, I think your video is the best that helped me play the music!!!! 💪🥁 Also thanks for the shuffle bonus at the end with the hh!!! 👌 All the best from an amateur Portuguese drummer!!!! 🙏🇵🇹🥁😎

Well explained on the fill being flams that impersonate triplets with the bass drum:)

The intro fill is right on. Another instructor shows correct notation of the fill but he uses double stroke on the snare, and 123 is Left on hi hat as written by him: LRR LRR LRR LRR (crash with L). I have no problem with this sticking, but when I went back and listen closely again, the dynamic between RL on the snare is clearly showed. So after practicing LRR awhile I went back to your sticking before KZbin algorithm shows me your video. This validate what I believe is better sticking and actually sounds more rock to me IMHO. Though I use LRR a lot in other stuff (or RLL). Thank you for your tutorial ❤

Thanks for uploading this - does Frank play a very quick double kick to come out of those flam triplets to come in on the ‘one’ of the first beat of the shuffle ? It’s so fast I can’t tell on the recording - if it is , man that’s fast on your foot. To get around this , could you crash the snare with the crash cymbal on ‘one’ ? Cheers
