I just love Frank's drumming on this!! From the little tippy-tapping right at the start and throughout!!! He looks like a race car driver putting on the gloves, strapping himself in and - off he goes! He's so intent and focused! He keeps it all in sync!!! And those full stops and restarts - amazing synchrony!!! You can see from their looks at each other that they're all in it together like one finely-oiled machine and loving it!!! LLOOOOVVVEEEE!

This is the smoothest band ever. Billy Gibbons just has an aura about him that just oozes "smooth". One bit of trivia for those who hadn't thought about it. The drummer, Frank Beard is the only one in the band without a beard. Kind of ironic. I'm sure that was done by design. Anyway, this was the first ZZ Top song I played on the guitar. Great song!!

Dude, BFG is buddies with a guy I used to play for. He showed up to our gig2 different times and sat in. The first time he tipped the band 50 bucks each in 2 dollar Bill's. I saw ZZ Top play on their first tour to NY promoting their Album,. this was the big song. They played in the Felt Forum underneath Madison Square Garden. They played this during the show and again for the encore. Everyone was revved up and called them back for a 3rd encore. But then with the whole crowd yelling ZZ Top and stomping on their seats etc,.,. someone threw a cherry bomb up onto the stage and I think the Mic's were still on it sounded like a big bomb had gone off,. the Band Ran back on stage not expecting a 3rd encore but had no songs left,. They Said I guess you can't leave until Sunday Morning lol and they did a number of Johnny Cash songs. It was really memorable.

@Rolling Stony Just a minor correction for the record...The first documented instance of ZZ playing at Felt Forum was May 23, 1975 which would've been the Fandango! tour. Fandango! is their 4th album. Very cool that you saw them at/near their first peak in popularity! I didn't catch on to their greatness until much later...like Eliminator time frame...but have seen them several times since then. Looking forward to the new Blu-ray!

@@Chris03121957 The band said it was their first time in NY. After the second encore I don't think they planned on there being a 3rd encore. The crowd was not leaving without one,. I think they had played La Grange 3 times by then and someone threw something on the stage that blew up loudly,. I think it was a cherry bomb and the mic's were still on I believe because the sound of the firework going off sounded like a bomb. The band Came Running back a little disheveled and surprised and looking like they were afraid their equipment might get damaged. They said " I guess when you play in NY on Saturday night you can't leave until Sunday Morning and they did a few Johnny Cash songs at least 3 maybe 5 of them all Cash songs.

This reminds me of a line I heard in "The Buddy Holly" story years ago that you can't be a successful band with just two guitars and a drum. These guys turned the world upside down with two guitars and a drum! I have been a fan since I first heard this song in the early 70's. I remember being in a dress shop with my girlfriend in the early 80's and they had a stereo system that was playing music throughout the store and Tube Snake Boogie came on and it stopped me in my tracks. I didn't know the song, but that sound was unmistakable.

YES! Like Ringo Starr, both underrated and amazing drummers! I love Frank and Ringo for being consistent, getting the groove right and giving each song what it needs. Right now there are many "drummers" on social networks who give their opinion and play acrobatically "which makes it look easy" but who have not created anything, they only learned to play a song acrobatically but they do not make music, they are not in a band and only They criticize the work of others. Classic losers...

It's not really the right piece to judge especially since it makes a huge blunder at 3:02 by missing the break and shifting the beat... It happens... Good for drummers the shuffle is a somewhat difficult rhythm, it requires a little coordination and nuance. I like him he's good.
