I wouldn't say that the Christmas party got cut out. It's most likely being saved for the next season. Also regarding the clip you guys were confused about, Tsubame (the pink-haired girl) was the one under Ishigami, not Iino. I won't say any more on that situation though.

Honestly manga readers complaining about it being 'cut' are really annoying. The team behind this has done nothing but prove they are worth our faith, despite playing hopscotch with what chapters they adapt when. They bring in some chapters early, they shorten some where appropriate, and they play with others - they turned a chapter about Shirogane being afraid of bugs into the Chika Dance ED! Some chapters are cut, but they're never plot-relevant; the team knows what they're doing. This movie is meticulously crafted around Kaguya and Shirogane's romance - bringing in stuff about Ishigami would just bloat the movie! TLDR people gotta have well-deserved faith, seriously.

Implying there were some parts potentially cut for runtime purposes or something, on the flip side just as many believed/understand both would be shown more in-depth during the next season.

So to clarify, Ishigami's story was not cut, people just forgot that it wasn't narrated to us until later and kinda mixed the two together because both technically happened at the same time in-universe, but chronologically speaking Ishigami's story was not in this section of the story at all until later when we get recaps of everybody's xmas. Even I personally would have wanted them to blend the two stories together, but I understand that Ishigami's story could have overshone the main developments here, so it was a necessary exclusion.

Now for this movie, it's more of Kaguya (apart from Miyuki that initiated the kiss) to move past her cowardly Ice Kaguya side. So they are both *balanced* in that way.

Yeah, some people just were complaining blindly like Ishigami stuff got skipped completely (because of jump to mall scene for ch 160), but didn't have time to show all that in the movie and split between that and Ice Kaguya arc. There was nothing more of Ishigami party shown as it was happening in the present, as the whole situation was shown as flashback after Ice Kaguya arc (after ch 151) anyway in the manga. lol Better to save that in a S4.

The cultural festival conclusion would've been easier, but a more superficial conclusion. That the flashy show of the cultural festival was nice, but Kaguya and Miyuki had more aspects of themselves they also had to address before moving forward more confidently with a relationship for a better foundation. It took the romance between them to new heights with the writing that couldn't have been achieved otherwise.

I like to think they had three confessions that make up one big confession arc, the physical confession at the culture festival, the emotional confession at the playground, and the verbal confession at the mall. The physical confession confirmed to them that they had feelings for each other despite no words being exchanged about that (this helped them make bolder moves because their feelings are almost certainly confirmed), the emotional confession was more of a show of vulnerability to show how deeply they both love each other (This took off all the masks which was their biggest stumbling block in past seasons), and the verbal confession was necessary to seal the deal and this broke a language barrier between them in the way that they would be tsundere around each other. This made a couple that would probably look good on paper but would realisticallly crumble with time into a more functional relationship than even some irl couples, for that I'm very impressed with this writing.
