I bought this KVM a year ago, and i combine this with my laptop dock and my gaming/linux rig and occasional raspberry pi fiddling. It is a lot of money, granted, but it does the job perfectly and I never had any issues. Refresh rate is good, usb-c transfer is flawless. Switching goes easy, and in the long run, it saves me a lot of time. Great product, no regrets!

I am desperate for a 144Hz compression-capable KVM switch ... and so far this seems to be the only game in town. What resolution/refresh are you pushing? I have a 144hz 4k monitor that I use for gaming and also my work laptop, and it's like to seamless switch. I use the DP and HDMI connections now, and have to navigate the monitor menu to change inputs, and it sucks.

Been happy so far with this KVMs support of video. Definitely having issuers with usb devices. Specifically Gaming/rgb keyboards. The keyboard won’t work properly through the device.

What I think we could use more of is kvm over ip. Something that integrates well with your perticuler kvm's. One can of course have a local kvm for multiple desktop systems. But then you have servers in your garage because of the heat. And of course there remote racks for companies you might manage. And finally there are just systems with software kvm. It would be nice to have just one seamless interface for everything but at a reasonable price.

Video and audio would be easy, keyboard and mouse would require some hackery, but still be possible. But I've yet to see someone pull off honest-to-god USB over IP.

With DP 2.0 becoming a reality, i d like a DP 2.0 version of this. Yes DP 2.0 monitors are not a thing yet, but 4K@120 Hz with 10 bpc does need DP 2.0 to work and i hope monitors like that are around the edge. Because as a graphics junky i want that sweet 120 Hz but i also don't want to lose the 10 bpc.

When I used to repair computers, I would have paid ~$1000 for a 4 port KVM that could take VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs, and output to DVI/HDMI... The number of times we had PCs on the bench with 1 of each of those, and no other connection, was extremely frustrating. Most of the time we just used VGA, but Dell and Lenovo and such started shipping PCs without VGA (at all - DVI-D or HDMI, no DVI-I). But I stopped doing that job, so I don't need that now.

Also would be nice to have a feature to mix audio of the digital inputs (audio over Displayport). That's the only reason I haven't bought the dual monitor one, because I like to still be able to hear the audio of my "main" machine. Gonna try the Mayflower Arc Mk2 now though cause it promises the ability to mix 2 inputs (aside from its main purpose as an amp/dac) PS: 0:40 Not all KVMs have 4 inputs, the USB-C one doesn't...

Just found your machines and they are really amazing. I've a question, imaging real world scenario: top gaming PC with Samsung G9 monitor (240Hz, 5120x1440, hdr) with 2 x DP 1.4 and a regular Macbook Pro. Idea is to come home bring plug one cable USBC to laptop and click one button on KVM to switch to work laptop, one click and it's Gaming PC. Do you think it's even possible? If so - can you custom make something like this? Thank you.

Mate this exactly what this is for... You get his KVM and for the macbook you will need an adapter/docking station that will charge + split your thunderbolt3 connection into a DP1.4 and input USBs which you will connect all to the KVM, that's what I'm planning to do right now - though I don't have a sick gaming pc nor that cool screen =P also I'm checking the possibility to use an eGPU enclosure with the macbook, it will replace the adapter/docking station and connect straight to the kvm.

When all devices are off it is randomly beeping time from time, sometimes it doesn't "turn on" keyboard and mouse when os boots (in grub it works), sometimes it does not turn on keyboard and mouse in bios/grub but it works when os loads... A suggestion: maybe you guys should already start work on sourcing a KVM for DP2.0, which is imminent. It runs over Thunderbolt 3 (80Gbps 🔥), so I don't know if any exist. I know Aten makes a Thunderbolt 2 KVM, so that could be a starting point? At any rate, I understand these processes are slow so if you start now then the wait for a decent DP2 switch won't be as long when it releases. Right now can't see myself investing in one of these when in a years' time it will become obsolete. Especially with high-bandwith usecases like 4k/120hz or 8k with high color depth. Though I probably will since there is no other kvm like this and I'm a display nut. Pretty decent price even, was expecting a 100 more because of the DP1.4.

my problems with kvm's were whenever I would move my mouse from VMware workstation (Inside the guest machine) to the Host machine, the KVM would auto-switch my monitor which was super annoying. Do you know if that is a problem with this one?

there is a huge universe of usb and display port devices. Because some monitors and devices (cough apple cough cough) dont 100% follow spec, it is very difficult for me to get perfect compatibility. For example the 2013 mac pro needs one of the level1techs DP repeaters to work properly. Mostly it's fine, though, one of the best KVMs out there.

Any plans for a rack-mount form-factor KVM? I keep thinking about picking up one of the 2-monitor/4-computer DP1.4 KVMs but I really would like a 1RU form-factor KVM. I haven't found any other companies making such a KVM. The only rackmount form-factor DP KVMs I've seen only seem to support a single monitor.

I don't really have a need for this, but I do like it anyway. (I've only one computer and one monitor.) If I ever get more of either you can look forward to my purchase. Any chance you could work on a dual WAN router, possibly with multiple modem inputs including 5G/4G, wifi? Did that make sense, I would like a more robust and versatile internet connection.

Using a similar KVM such as this one and using a Club3D USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable (bidirectional) as well as some HDMI2.0+-to-DisplayPort converter (or a KVM, that speaks HDMI or USB-C alternate mode) should do the trick. Since I am not using Macs myself I cannot say for sure, because I don't know if there are limitations especially with the M1-Macs.
