We visited with RYOBI to get hands on with the New LINK Modular Tool Storage system. We got all the specifications, the intended purpose of of use, which is not only the home owner and DIY crowd, but the trade professional, and contractors. Yes they designed with all the trades in mind with various sized tool boxes that interlock, and a rolling base, but they also state that they’ve built this system keeping in mind outdoor enthusiasts, disaster relief, first aid, personal trainers, event planners, and interior designers! Here another little tidbit that sets the Link modular tool storage system apart from other modular storage systems, they built the system with homeowners, Diyers, and Shade tree mechanics in mind by including modular wall mounting systems so you can build out a home shop! We even gave you pricing in our previous video • RYOBI LINK Modular Too... . We talked the entire system through and decided RYOBI SHOULDN'T be making THIS modular tool storage solution!

The wall rails... find one stud, put in one screw there, level and the built in hole spacing is stud spacing... makes it super easy to install. The pricing is a bit high compared to the rest of the line, but it seems appropriate for what it is. When you have heavy weight in a Packout, sometimes the unlocking can be tricky with the slide. I don't know if others have experienced similar...

@@VCGConstruction That bottom latching system is one of my main concerns too. Another is the limited weight capacity of the cart handle. 200 lbs is easy to reach in 2 or 3 boxes. @VCG Construction Already see an issue. First, I do want to say that I like how you can just plop it on unlike Milwaukee. Not that Milwaukee's solution is terrible by any means (I love Milwaukee), but for those in the dirty ground trades (on sand/dirt a lot) or even if your trade has "cleanx surfaces like mechanic, HVAC, etc.. overtime, dirt and whatever else will get inside those moving components and make it either not work or barely work. Milwaukee has just the one clip so all the feet and "shoes" can be washed off. And the one clip should be relatively easy to clean out. Especially since it's somewhat open. Those Ryobi ones seem pretty closed and really tough to get to. But just like anything, the more moving parts you have, the more points of failure you have as well.

@@koma-k Doesn't really matter if it's one or not. I mean, if it's one, it'd have a better chance since it's act like "awd" with all the springs working together. But once it's stuck, it's stuck. Granted, as long as you're not using it directly in the mud or sand, shouldn't be too much of an issue. Though.. you might hear grinding from what is in there. Bought my Ridgid setup about six months ago, then Ryobi announces these; they already look way better. The functionality alone means I’ll be buying these when they come out and selling my Ridgid. Heck, the fact that the crate placement isn’t limited to the top has me sold I’m also thoroughly impressed by the wall system. I didn’t know what to expect when they announced it Vince you were like a kid in a candy store 😂

Links to buy would be nice to have. I've been using Ryobi for years. Still have blue tools sitting in the shop getting daily use. I'd love to get my hands on some of these to replace the garbage dewalt boxes I have now.

Easy pass for me.... 3:50 "you said it Vince, time is money, time is money " .... but I have to remove bolts to remove the handle every time I need to put this in my truck to fit under the tonneau cover....or buy detent pins which will more than likely cause the handle to be loose.

Thanks Vince. It looks like Ryobi is light years ahead of the rest, wall storage is actually your rolling packout system reading before you are. Up & up Ryobi. 🤔 Vince you going to DRIVE you're truck over it......🙏🏾🖖🏾🤣🤙🏾🖤's

All I care about is does the power tool holder setup work for other brands. Cause gotta be honest I actually carry 2 brands in my workshop, so it'd be nice if I could use the system for both

I'm sure it doesn't matter if you slide a Ryobi, DeWalt, Milwaukee or any other brand drills in their organizer. Same for other tools

The market for a rolling tool box is pretty crowded. How does this one compare to the ones made by Husky, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ridgid, Bauer and others?

Ryobi's product development has been really good lately, not surprised they are getting into tool storage. Packout is awesome, but is more than I want to spent for home. I have been using Tstak and Versa stack because of the price.

There is something odd with the color combination. Maybe live it won't happen, but at least in the videos I have seen, it seems hard to tell which tools are hung on the wall system. All I see is that lime color standing out but the color combinations make hard, for me, to see the tool shapes. The dark parts of the tools are lost in the dark background, and viceversa. Same happens with the lime color parts.
