Flip i forgot one more thing- stereo mic sound from the ipad can now be done so we don’t have to stick to a flat mono source. In the settings where the mic options are.

After reading the release notes, here are my favorite new updates: * It's now possible to choose a separate audio device for input and output. * It's now possible to choose a specific iPad microphone as the input device in the Audio Settings

From Garageband, I've wanted to move to LPro on the M4 Chip. My hardware is M1 vintage with limited storage. You make an interesting case for a new Ipad solution. A learning step on my way to a future Mac platform. Patrick, Your information is top-notch and always entertaining.

Full functionality of plugins now? Just like on the Mac? (See the needle in the compressor? Full patch building, oscillators etc in Alchemy?) Flex pitch? Multi track in phase live drum recording editing? Are the tons of missing features being added in?

If you’re looking for 100% feature parity between the Mac and iPad versions you’ll probably be waiting a while. If all of that stuff you mentioned is absolutely essential to you and your music production workflow, I’d highly recommend just buying a Mac and Logic Pro honestly.

@ Thank you for the reply. I have Logic on my M1 Air and it is fantastic. I am just waiting for the day i can do all those things on the couch on a touch surface. I just built a killer patch in Alchemy (Vangelis inspired). It feels like the iPad version of Alchemy is about 90% less experience. And we are talking about only ONE plugin in Logic. Hope Apple can either bring parity or develop a hybrid MacOS version in the future. I won't buy a Mac anymore if that happens. Maybe that is what Apple is afraid of.

You can rearrange the channel strips. Apparently this was long-awaited. I know nothing, being solidly GarageBand. But, i saw it elsewhere, and it seems an obvious requirement on a ‘grown-up’ DAW. Take care all…BTW, u know there’s an app called Final Cut Camera, that enables multiple devices to shoot at once? Gotta be Apple Silicon if it’s an ipad though, and an omission is 50fps for European video standard apparently.

seriously? That was all we got from logic? No updates for better: noise remover, better EQ, better new mastering like limiter, compressor, better FX effects, stereo spread, better modulation, better pitch, better delays? That's what they should focus on. But no.....we got instead a room simulator reverb. Wow...such a disappointment from Logic.

Thank you brother, your videos are so informative yet concise that they inspired me to take the dive with Logic Pro 2...I cannot put my tablet down. My musical interests began before multimedia computers were even invented...never would I have imaged this day...now time to get on this New York City number (3) train and go home 🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋
