Now then rc So&So..... As you are probably already aware the monster beetle is one of my favourite vintage runners,and its great to see it regenerated once again (great job by the way chief,who definitely didnt run out of black paint!😅 Sometimes un planned occurances lead to some splendid results!) First 3 things to break off of every monster beetle fact - Rear number plate,driver figure ,and spot lights.....tick,tick,tick,been there,got the t shirt! 😅 The monster beetle is not a fan of high traction surfaces like tarmac.....which make it tumble like a wanna be lunchbox! But,it really comes to life on loose surfaces,and becomes a lot more drivable and fun. It was right at home here,although i cringe at the thought of all that sand getting inside those rubber gators around the drive shafts,the gearbox bearings,and the gearbox itself ,which is the biggest downfall of this chassis! Fair play,I've never had the balls to take any of my ORV runners to the seaside for this reason. Some awesome jump action there,and it always makes me laugh the way this car jumps so g.a.y.....too much weight at the rear means it always comes down on its rear wheels,a true quirk of this iconic eighties Tamiya. Great video fellas. 🙏 👍 👍 👍

I feel that now all those bits have broken that it has been ran in correctly and is ready for some serious motoring. I know this one has hit the beach a few times and has the odd rusty screw (sounds like a drink in the Blue Oyster) but apart from that is good, though the Chief Engineer does a good job of cleaning these up. I think it is happiest when it can get some air, and does move well when you pull the trigger, I am sure this one will be around for a while now 🤔👍

​ Correct Sir! Definitely properly run in now, and ready for action i would say!! Well,for stage one at least..... Stage two consists of premature drive shaft ejaculation (usually when the rear trailing arms are fully extended whilat jumping ),broken rear body mount brace/posts,and self destruction of all the bevel gears as a result of the metal diff plates warping .....resulting in a horrible clicking of the gears! But,i will let you guys discover threse little design faults in your own time! 😅 As I've said before ,this car can actually be made to become a great performer.....but many upgrades are needed to get it there . And to be honest ,that is half the fun for me with vintage cars like this! Good to hear that the chief engineer has a comprehensive post run cleaning/maintenance procedure in place......something that many of the younger generation of rc enthusiasts often overlook . As for the 'odd rusty screw'.....I'd certainly have a tipple or two of that one!🍻 Great to hear that the holiday beetle will be kept on the channel for the foreseeable future anyway guys! 😊👍 👍 👍 ​@@RCsoandso

@@RCsoandso Hmmm..... Sounds kinda nice! 🥃 Doesn't the chief engineer enjoy the odd scotch as well?! I was lucky enough to be gifted 10 litres of home made slo gin from a customer today..... It's been fermenting for 6 years!!!! 🤪 God it packs a punch, especially when drunk in pints..... I was supposed to be doing some rc car maintenance tonight, but the lines are a little blurred now! Maybe I should have had a rusty screw instead!! 😅 🍻 👍 👍 👍

When we were much younger the Chief Engineer had a neighbour that had to move in a hurry and as we were sat in the back garden having a drink, asked us if we like sherry, as he had some he would give us. It was 25kiters of home made sherry, the issue was it was in the fermenting Bucket and he wanted it back, so we filled every receptacle he had, empty bottles, jars, cups, glasses, bowls, even the washing up bowl with it. His house stank like a brewery 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍹🍸🥂🍻🍺🥃🫖
