In the UK it has always been against the law to ride in the back of a pickup so we missed out on adventures like that 🤷‍♂️

Well I have to admit that’s the last of the footage from the hall from that shoot, I think we do plan to go back though when the weather changes in the autumn, but so far the summers been a bit disappointing 🤷‍♂️👍

To be honest I’m going to modify my front end steering as it’s awful especially with the wider wheels at the front, with luck it will make it more what it should be 👍

@@RCsoandso no secret the steering is trash on these to begin with. I have a similar, if not, the same, aluminum bumper up front as you do. Was hoping that would be enough to clear the wider front wheels, guess not lol Good thing we're handy.

The Lunchbox is such a versatile model. Funnily enough I’ve just filmed the first run of this one’s new look and it should be out soon!

It really doesn’t get the love it should, Tamiya has given options here, so you can make it your own, but most people just want to moan about it. It’s a nice little compact chassis that does the job well. Looking forward to when you get yours finished 👍

@@RCsoandso completely agree! I’ve been working on the body recently and I think it’s now one of my favourite looking kits. Gone with a more mustard yellow and it looks so good with all the decals.

Controversial opinion, maybe the so-called ‘slop’ is a case of a bad workman blaming his tools! Let’s face it we all build these things, and I’m sure some have their quirks, I know mine do. I don’t think we will have care homes in 30 years time, the way this country is going we will either be left on a hill or taken to the nearest Soylent Green Facility!

@@RCsoandso I agree matey......especially after the events of the last 24 hours, we are all totally doomed!! 😵 But, I won't go down the politics route. Regarding our models, you are certainly correct there mate. We are the mechanics, and its down to us to construct each model to the best of our ability. Which, may often result in having to do slight improvements and tweeks to the basic stock rig that Tamiya provide us with..... and that's half the fun in my mind. But we must also remember that the quirks of our certain Tamiyas are what gives them their personality, otherwise we may as well get a boring Arrma or Traxxas. Take our trusty lunchbox for example - It's top heavy, doesn't steer great, struggles to keep the front wheels on the ground, is pretty slow, and bounces and slaps all over the place..... but it's always one of the most fun rigs to take out due to these quirks. I've actually previously done a custom lunchbox build to address all of these issues - Steering servo position mod, double wishbone front suspension mod, oil dampers all around (including the 5th shock mod) extremely fast motor, better wheels and tires etc. Was it better to drive? Yes substantially!! But was it more fun? No way!!! By ironing out all the quirks it becomes just another RC..... In reality, it ruined it! So, I'm definitely intrigued by the MB01, and may well pick one up at some point..... kinda hoping Tamiya will put one out with the original mini body on it! 🤞 👍 👍 👍

In the UK the Opel Kadett was the Vauxhall Astra and these were the right had drive ones, so I’d say that would have been even rarer, but it is unusual for someone to ship so far. We may have just bought a mini shell for this and filmed the first run, so that should be out soon. I would never force you to buy another RC, but if your happy to have a gap in your collection, well 🤣😂👍

It’s a good all rounder and it’s a nice small compact model, but we just put an RZ in it recently and it goes like sugar of a shovel👍

That sounds awesome and I do think shocks are high on the list to upgrade, I don’t think we are happy with the GT Tuned motor currently 👍

I had the holiday buggy and my mate had the sand rover , both upgraded to the 540 silver can with 7.2 battery. From memory I think the chassis broke where the front shocks were mounted. Box art from memory , my next car was the frog

I’m sure this will have plenty of impacts, and we will report any crack or mishap with the paint, at the moment it’s looking positive 🤞👍

I’ve seen using flames does magical things on chemical level, but it’s knowing when to stop, I think if we tried it then we will have a melted body 🤣😂😂👍

It’s easy to do .when the sanded surface goes back to a shiney surface that’s enough heat treatment sand again then paint

Tamiya love to throw a spanner in the works on occasion, with luck the orange will stay and not flake, but we will test it as much as we can! 👍

Happy with it so far, and I think it’s better than the dark blue as standard 👍

I think it has a couple more regenerations in it, but I will make sure it is retired if it ever gets to Capaldi, as we are not here to spread ‘The Message’ It is a bit touching cloth when it comes to hard turns but it did ok, I did wonder about a slower motor, but we will mull that over 👍

All we need now is to figure out how to make it do a Kickflip 🤣😂👍

@@RCsoandso Carsen all terrain buggy tyres/rim set. Aside from the usual motor and shock upgrades you may desire.

Hope you are going to paint it, although you may know this already but the reason Mercedes racing colour is silver, comes from it used to be white, but they determined that the lead in the white paint added a few fractions of seconds to the performance time so they stripped all the paint of and ran them just with the metal. Things you do for speed 🤔😂👍

But yeah that's the idea with the holiday buggy - No hard plastic roof, no spot lights, no cockpit, no jerry cans on the side, and limited decals..... hopefully saving a bit of weight and making it more aerodynamic!
