I honestly wish that exclusive pets weren't a thing. It's pretty unfair that some places can get them while others would probably have to spend a fortune on eBay or other sites just to get them.

It's definitely something I'm torn on! On one side its fun and cool to hunt pets down that are exclusive and trade with fellow collectors and their designs are so gorgeous but on the other hand resellers can hike the price up waaaay too much and ruin the market, also because they're exclusive like you said it is unfair especially for countries that may not get any exclusives.

the most exciting thing about the 2024 release is that it makes older gen molds more accessible to people with less money who can’t afford how pricey some older ones have gotten. having exclusives like this isn’t very accessible and thats what sucks about it. there are people struggling to afford basic necessities these days (like myself) and it sucks that i have to worry about potentially not getting my hands on something i was super excited about

The one thing I'm a little nervous about is that there's already been a scalper. Someone basically cleared out a Toys R Us and is reselling for 2-3x the original price- It's just so icky to me, I'm excited that they're coming back but I'm worried the scalpers will get to them first and then us who actually want them for ourselves won't get a chance- It's making me thankful I live in an area where scalping won't be as big of an issue, since it's very small town, but who knows- But I am genuinely excited for all the new designs and such! I can't wait to get my hands on the blind boxes and getting my hands on the Axolotls! It's going to be so awesome to buy them in person again, I just hope the scalping doesn't get out of control- good luck to yall getting them! Hope you're all able to get the ones you want!

Yes I saw her on Facebook. She was literally bragging about how she cleared out the shelves or something and then she’s reselling them for like $45 each? So disgusting especially since it’s right before Christmas and a lot of people want to get these for their kids and then we have people like her reselling them for three times the original retail price. I hope nobody is buying from her because that would be really stupid when they’re literally coming out in stores worldwide in the next couple weeks.

these are gonna be mass produced toys so i wouldn't worry too much about scalpers, theres no way theyre gonna buy up all the stock

The exclusive otter and dolphin set is so cute! I absolutely agree with you about scalpers; it’s a shame that not only is the world like this, but also that we all expected it to happen. I don’t think the pets should be sold for more than their original price while they’re still in stores.

They almost certainly were not supposed to be released yet. This kind of thing happens all the time with video games: certain retailers get stuff ahead of the release date and stock it early by mistake. Considering this happened before even the presale they teased, and everything else has been pointing to a January release date, I'm guessing that's what happened here. Either that or they're using Canada as a test market to see how they sell before the full release.

I'm pretty sure they stocked these guys by accident, that happens a lot with toys. They receive boxes of the toys with specific days/months on when to stock them, but some stores don't pay attention and stock them early when they receive them. Definitely strange it is multiple stores in Canada though...

Im kinda nervous for the lps in the us because i feel like they are going they will sell out quick and people who really want them like kids or collectors wont be able to get them because of resellers. I’m excited to get back some of the LPS I lost/gave away ages ago. I used to have that striped lucky cat, and I don’t know what happened to it! I’m so glad they’re bringing it back. Also, I really like the new wolf cat. She’s ✨GORGEOUS!!!!!!✨ I can’t wait to get my hands on her! As for the Canada release topic, I’m not really bothered that they’re only in Canada right now. I know they’re gonna be in stores near me soon, and I’m happy to wait. No reason to get impatient, you know? But I am worried about scalpers. I have no idea if they’ll be a problem in my area, but I’m definitely worried I’ll get to the store and see the whole LPS section cleared out already. Also, it’s silly to me what these scalpers are doing, just on a rational level. If you’re a scalper, why would you clear out smth that’s going to be regularly restocked? Not only does it harm the LPS community, but it doesn’t make sense on a financial level. Right now it makes sense with the limited release, but if they keep doing it once LPS are everywhere, just. Why??? 🙄

This is so exciting! One thing I am a tiny bit worried about is that some of the designs looks really similar to some original LPS. For example the German shepherd, orange tabby, the tiger, the llama, opossum and the wolf cat that is next to the Axolotl. The llama and opossum look really similar to original pets, but otherwise they are so cute! Ik this is only wave 1, so I sure there’ll be other designs. I just wanted to share my thoughts, but I don’t doubt basic fun at all! 5:❤😊

Looking at these pets on the website number G7 38 looks like number 2130 from the collector's pack of 10 pets. I still have that pup to this day, I named her Ginger.

I got some of the new pets because i live in the area where they were first released early! I got the German Shepherd + paw up cat, the Wolf + Betta Fish, the Axolotl + Wolfcat, and then four blind boxes in which i got the Spaniel, the Pelican, the Shark, and the Otter! I also got another blind box and the code indicates its the blind box Corgi but i got that for my friend! It totaled up to $64 (with tax, CAD.) The corgi from the hamster playset has thunderbolts in it ears which differentiates it from the blind box corgi. The way you find out which pet is in which blind box to ensure you dont get any duplicates like Basic Fun is promising is you look right above the barcode, you see a special code and the corresponding pets are already listed with those codes online! The pets DO have a slight plastic-y/chemical-y smell, but you only notice it if you sniff the pets directly. They’re also a bit more squishy than the old pets. In the box sets to get the code coin and a collector card you have to take out the background and then its taped in a paper bag on the back! The pets are good quality, and the neck pegs are WHITE, not clear! I posted some photos of what i got on Reddit under the same username i have on here where i go a bit more in depth and answer whatever questions people may have (this isn’t a self promo I promise i barely even use the platform this is just to aid people in finding out more about them)
