What I want to say is that I spent less than $ 100 from the fake LV I bought from kislux . The quality is very good. I spent four years on the plane, the bus, and anywhere. As a rag. I specially smelled the bag and compared the stitching color. This is the most authentic I have ever seen. To this day, this bag is still very strong. Although it has been abused, the material is still great.

@ I am also fair with light hair and blue eyes; I know what you mean! And I understand not everyone wants to play Picasso when they do their eyeshadow, but for instance, the beautiful pale pink is there in the guerlain eyeshadow holiday - you just have to mix red and white. But most prob don’t want to bother with that, and that is understandable. But I find it cool to have a set of primary shades like that to play with. Just my personal opinion, no shade.

I bought a 2nd Lilas Poudre from Chanel last week. I truly enjoyed that shade last spring and summer, and this new Mauve (is that the name?) looks sooo similar. I bought the Natasha Denona Retro palette during the Sephora sale so that is already pinks and a few purples...but I would like that new oversized Chanel palette. The new/old M-A-C lipsticks are in assorted nudes...a few are tempting...but will have to test how the pink/purple story blends with the nudes. The show notes said you were going to discuss Babycat, and you got off on the Wirkin. I want a real Birkin if I want anything...but not into "lookalikes". I will get another bag that is leather and quality before I get something fake just because it's a knock-off.

Hi Jennifer, intersting that the tags on your video are labled Chanel Rouge Allure and YSL Babycat and I can't find where you are actually talking about them. What do you think of the Babycat? I've had it on the radar for a few months but would have to blind buy from Selfridges. My favorite leather perfumes so far are Chanel's Cuir de Russie and Hermes Galop d'Hermes. I was able to find one of the Chanel Les Perles pouches at the Denver Chanel Boutique. I watched everyday for over two weeks for it to come online. I checked on a Wednesday morning. The next day, Thursday, it showed up online as sold out. Very disappointing. I called the boutique and they had a few so I was able to get one but Chanel should have definitely made more of them. I don't care for the soapy base of the Prada Infusion line so that's a pass for me. I quit buying Tom Ford perfumes a long time ago. I much prefer the creations of Jaques and Olivier Polge. Also I want to pick up more of the older fragrances from Dior. I have a few but would like to add Diorama and Dioressence to my collection this year. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Wal-Mart Birkin. Depends on if you buy for prestige and to show others wealth and status or because it is something you truly love for yourself. I don't criticize people who collect beautiful things but I hope it is about values, priorities and disposable income. There is too much pressure on all of us to spend beyond our means and sadly social media plays a large part. All to say, I support your low buy and setting the highest standards for value for money be it luxury of Wal-Mart goods. Go Jennifer!

From a purely practical point, I could see someone buying a Wirkin to try the purse out and see if the size, accessibility etc worked for them before investing in the real thing, assuming you could afford a real one and were seriously considering it as a usable purse, not just a collector item. If you buy the Walmart version and decide maybe it’s too big or you don’t like having to undo the buckle every time to get in it, you’ve saved yourself a lot of money!

Hi Jen. I must say you look pretty glamorous for someone who isn’t feeling 100%! I know you don’t like blush much but I am interested in your opinion on the new blushes from Dior called forever glow maximizer. Saks here in Boca only had a few colors and I picked up the lightest one called Pink. It’s very very sheer and, you know, I am not hugely into blush either. Not because of rosacea but I think less is more at this age. (My age not yours!)

Hi Jennifer! Happy 2025!! Thank you for this roundup of upcoming collections - and sharing your opinions about each one. The only release I am interested in is the Hermes trio blush (because I love the trio highlighter). BTW, have you tried the new Guerlain fragrance in Patchouli Paris? With respect to the Workin bag, I am curious to know if the people who bought it (it’s now OOS) have satisfied their need to impress. I am also curious to know if this trend will reduce the hype surrounding the real Hermes Birkin - i.e. carrying a $10K bag that looks like a $80 bag. I have 2 Hermes Lindy bags and I like that the style is an “incognito Hermes” - SAs in stores make no assumptions about my “budget” and my friends and relatives don’t judge me for my spending. The design has all the features I want in a handbag - I would not trade either Lindy for a Birkin because I hate fishing for my keys or my phone. Thanks again for the video. I look forward to the next one.

If I could get a YSL kislux bag for 500 euros I would buy one, but for 2000 euros I really don't think it's worth it. I think a lot of consumers are like this, which means that brands that choose to jack up prices to astronomical amounts lose a lot. I wouldn't spend that much on a woc, but a real bag that can hold more than one phone

Teddy Blake makes a Birkin look alike too. A Birkin is a status symbol, and a dupe is a mockery to the elites, and I find it very comical.

Personally, I think Walmart might be making a joke of the Birkin exclusivity lawsuit, which I think has grounds (there is huge subjectivity to who gets to buy, since I see not notable or notably wealthy people get access to purchase from time to time). Also I don't judge if anyone decides on a knock-off or dupe. Someone might not want or have the means to afford a birkin or kelly (or they can but don't want to spend enough Hermes to get access to purchase), and just likes to style of it. And tbh since ethics and capitalism don't pair well, though responsible purchasing and forward-facing problematic behaviors are a another thing, I try to respect everyone's purchasing decisions.

Agreed. I do have some concerns about workers making the goods...regardless of whether its a knock off or the real thing.

I saw a “Workin Bag” and there is no way anyone who likes luxury goods is going to think it is authentic. It looks like plastic faux leather and the workmanship doesn’t even begin to compare. I don’t have any Hermes bags, but i do have Hermes’s saddles and they are phenomenal so I’m familiar with the quality and workmanship. This whole “Workin Bag” thing is like when all those fake LV bags were a thing.

I agree with you about the Walmart Birkin. There’s zero point to it, seems like something that would appeal to people who shop on temu, buying things just because they are cheap and not really for any other reason- and don’t care that literal slave labor is going into it and that the temu platform does not actually pay the manufacturers a huge portion of the time. None of this is a good idea, buying cheap things just does not scratch the itch that good quality products do, so then the person ends up with a hoarders situation and giant credit card debt.
@dreicher14 күн бұрын
I love your hair and makeup! The Hermes blush looks promising. As a child I grow up in a very well off family. My clothes were purchased at luxury stores or custom made. As I grew up and paid my own way, I quickly learned not all white shirts or leather bags, for example, were created equal. I decided I would rather have one exquisite shirt that felt and fit wonderfully (and laundered better) than to have 10 lesser expensive tops in my closet I do not enjoy to wear. If I buy pieces from bridge to haute couture, it has nothing to do with a label and everything to do with the quality, fit, length of life of the product, and overall experience. For example, for work I have purchased many blazers at around $200, which I wore once in a while before I gave them to my family frequently in less than a year. The reason is that I wore my two $1200-$1500 jackets 4-5 times per week. Their fit was impeccable and timeless. Their fabric was comfortable and didn’t wrinkle when packed in a suitcase. I wore them for over 15 years at a cost per wear of around .30 cents or less. As opposed to the cheaper ones I seldom wore (even after tailoring) with a cost of $2-$200 per wear. If someone really wants the Walmart bag then go for it. But like you said there are much better higher quality choices available over many price points. My friend bought a Tiffany & Fred Paris bag similar to the Walmart bag in question because she liked the style. She showed me it was full or top grain leather, which will definitely last longer.

I agree with you re duping the Birkin. I think if you can’t afford it the buy something that you can. I think people are drawn to it cuz of its exclusivity and by buying the dupe they have a false feeling of belonging to the club.
@paraskeviz205114 күн бұрын
Very well said Jennifer 👏❤ and that's said by someone that will never be able to buy a Birkin. There should be paid royalty penalties for some iconic classic designs. I have myself some objections too for the kind of leathers luxury bags are made off but that's out here of course, but I'd never buy a replicate for that reason! Unfortunately many ppl buy copies of luxury items just to show off... (in a bad way after all) 🤷♀️

@ladyesther14 күн бұрын
Yeah, I wouldn't get a dupe of a lux bag. I would rather have quality items that I would use. I guess I have to say I got the lux brands out of my system. I sold off my Chanel items bc I want to be more low-key. I love Chanel. The Walmart thing is interesting. I guess I can see why some people would want them. Part of the thing that people value is the "buying" status. And then you get to the point where you realize you're are really okay without all this stuff. In the end you can't take it with you.
@jk621514 күн бұрын
Re the Hermes bags.. I think the unspoken white elephant is this: people use luxe brand goods as a status symbol. And this is what Hermes, LV, Chanel, etc. are selling. It’s more about that than the quality for a good no. of people. I’m more like you; quality is king. I have no need to project some false bougie image. The younger gen def is all about flashing the brand tho. My son wanted Gucci in high school! 😂
@loytoco10 күн бұрын
I don't get the hype for the Birkin dupe, either. There have been dupes for the Birkin since forever. Here in Italy there have been plenty of leather shops that have had similar models, even if maybe not exactly the same, that even have the artisan craftsmanship and all. Besides that, actual dupes have existed way before that one, so I really don't understand the whole internet going crazy about it. Unfortunately, many people value other people according to the money they have. I see it more and more often, especially with teen-agers, to whom I teach. That's why some people buy the thing that looks like the other thing, I believe. To show "money". Let's just stop and think about the "old money" trend on social media: people going out of their way to look as if they have been welathy since generations. A trend entirely designed to look expensive.

Hi Jen, I love Hermes blushes and all their makeup in general. This limited edition is already available in Australia. Tomorrow I will go to store and if the colour suits my skin tone I will buy it. My SA told me that every year Hermes will release 2 limited edition eyeshadows.🤩 I saw Rose Exposed quint from TF and unfortunately both lighter shades are skin like for me. They don’t pop up and I skipped the palette because of this reason. I am interested to see the peach one and if is not too dark or skin like colour (the lighter shades) I might get it. I saw a review of the new Gucci mascara. It is very good but it flakes. For me it’s a hard pass but if you don’t have this problem (panda eyes) you will like it. I tried the existent mascara and unfortunately transferred under eye in no time. D&G new mascara is the one I want to try because they describe it as a waterproof mascara with 0 transfer. I don’t like dupes no matter what is about, so that handbag from Walmart is like a bad joke for me. People who buy that handbag think that is cool to have a Hermes like handbag without paying the exorbitant price. In my opinion this is silly. High luxury handbags are not just handbags. It is about a status, it is about seeing the all picture. You cannot have a Zara outfit, jump in a bus or in your cheap/average car with a Hermes/Chanel/LV bag. and be proud of yourself. If you struggle for years to save money for a handbag or worse-buy a dupe or a fake- that means you don’t have a lifestyle for that handbag. You will end up looking ridiculous and not at all happy. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I do look forward to your reviews for many of the items you did talk about, the Prada perfume, lipsticks, the Hermes blush, guerlian eyeshadow palette, Gucci mascara etc. I get what you’re saying, repetitive releases… personally I’d like more in the Pantone color of the year because when I heard mocha mousse I felt like it’s my year.
