KZbin influencers need to stop discouraging potential buyers from buying base models. The vast majority will be fine with 8 gigs of ram. In addition, Apple is NOT going to give you greater value for the money spent on the extra ram. They're not going to support your hardware for any longer than the base model. Base models will always offer the best value on a trade-in. KZbin influencers are not representative of the average consumer and their collective advice should be taken with a massive dose of salt.

Literally the only thing that's held me back from buying this design of the macbook air has been the 60hz display with no promotion. 60hz is fine but going from my phone and my ipad both with 120hz it's quite a difference.

16GB is more than enough. DO NOT PURCHASE 8GB. If you have money, go with 512GB version. If you are tight on budget, go with 16GB + 256GB and purchase an external SSD which will cost you just $50 for 512GB.

Love the content. I actually upgraded from the M2. I was not aware when I went from my old old heavy MacBook Pro (like 8 years old) to the MacBook Air M2 last year that I could not use two monitors which I used to use all the time. By the time I found out it was too late to return the laptop so I was stuck with it. I also make the mistake of getting the wrong configuration so for me this was a necessary upgrade from the M2 with 8gb to the M3 16gb/516 gb SSD and now dual monitor capability.

@@Allwin-lz6yj currently using one atm. I dont need the 16gb of ram or even the 512gbssd as this is for super average use. KZbin, spotify, facebook and I use EZdrummer3 on it. Does ALL I need it to do with error. No need for me to pay an extra $200 for something I dont need. Hope that helps you figure that out. If you are someone who does hardcore video editing or photo editing I can understand the upgrades. Then again if you are doing all that why are you looking at an Air model? Save up and go for a pro. If not then you are simply wasting money. Most average users dont even push the 16gb of ram that much or the ssd. People enjoy paying more thinking they need more. Instead of spending $200 for 512ssd, I spent $200 for an external 2tbssd. And again going to 16gb of ram for what I use it for is wasting money. 8gb of ram loads everything just fine.

Got a question for you dude. Looking for a computer for business. I do a lot of Excel, adobe, and a lot of other stuff that takes a lot of RAM. Was looking the LENEVO Yogo or something similar. But was told to look at the MacBook Pro but that’s pricy. Would you recommend the MacBook Air with the M3 chip for a person who has multiple programs running? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Noo! If you need RAM, get a ThinkPad G4 with 32GB of RAM. Preferably the Ryzen 7 7840U CPU version. You will save more money and have access to the full features of Excel. RAM is very important when dealing with Adobe products.

Ask yourself these 3 questions- 1. Do I absolutely need to work on 2 external monitors ? 2. Do I genuinely care about marginal performance improvement as if my workload is so demanding that I can take advantage from those small gains compared to M2 ? 3. Do I really care about certain AI features Apple is talking about and not just want to ride the hype train ? If your answer is NO to all three questions, you definitely can skip M3 and even M4 iteration of Apple silicon. M2 will easily last as a power horse for the next 5 years.

8GB is fine for lighter usage. I'm still using an M1 Air with 8GB, for daily office work, withe the occasional bit of light audio and video editing, and it is fantastic. 16GB would future proof you a little, but for non intensive work 8GB is still okay.

The 35 W charger is a bit of a scam. I wasn't able to charge any Android phone with that, I guess it works only with Iphone. As that didn't work I switched to the faster 70 W charger.

Magsafe port is really useless. An extra usb C port would be so much usefu. Also including magsafe cable in box is kind of silly when they have standardized chargeport across all apple devices to be USB C. Just give a long usb c to usb c cable apple So that we can have 1 charger and 1 cable for everything.

They definitely improved the anti-fingerprint material but you can still see it. Is there a matte finish version? If only Apple didn't charge for so much for upgrading the RAM and storage; especially since it's soldered to the motherboard. I doubt Mac will ever be the preferred choice for gaming over PC and or consoles.

So guys I have a question and I need an answer ASAP! So, I've just got my new job as a software engineer. I'm planning on buying a Macbook because I've seen and heard just a great stuff about Macs and coding power. My question is : Should I buy M1, M2 or the M3 model of Macbook air, prices in my country in order : 1100$, 1450$, 1500$. Base model is simply a big NO for software engineers. Docker Desktop itself takes 4.5 GB of RAM. Given the RAM also comprises of VRAM since Apple laptops don't have dedicated graphics, it is going to eat up 8GB so damn easily. Apple shipping a $1000+ laptops with just 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD is plain unprofessional and exploitation of consumers. If you don't really care about the support for 2 external monitors and some AI features Apple is hyping, go with M2 MacBook Air with 16GB + 512 GB SSD. I will no longer recommend M1 now. If you have the budget, go with similar configuration on M3. If you are tight on budget and have one upgrade to chose from, 16GB RAM is far better choice than 512 SSD for so many good reasons.

The M series MacBook Air and the M series Mac Mini are the best non-phone products from Apple for the middle class (with 16GB of RAM). 70% of computer users that have an iPhone will benefit from using them.

Apple should have built their own in house porting company. Devs have little reason to port their games to Mac so Apple should just buy the licenses and do it in house. That would change gaming landscape on Mac.

Yes because that MacBook Pro won’t be receiving new macos updates anymore. Plus the intel chips in Mac are way too old in today’s standards and any of the m chips (1,2 or 3) would run circles around it.
